i know we talk about rereading books but,

have you ever reread fan fiction?

one time i was sitting down to read and my neighbor was having a coffee with my mom and i don’t like people so i’m hiding. i hear them start talking about sexuality so i start listening. my neighbor is being SO HOMOPHOBIC AND TRANSPHOBIC so i gather all my courage and try to explain about how everyone deserves equal rights and respects thinking, hmmm maybe she just doesn’t know. she continues to say ‘well, we didn’t have anything like that in our day and age’

does anyone else sit down to read and they’re ready to relax but then you just remember that you *could* be rereading your comfort book?

i’ll really be sitting down with a book from my tbr and remember that alex and henry exist and start crying over how much i love them

All through Carry On we get: Baz is evil, Baz is dangerous, Baz is trying to kill Simon. Baz wants to kill - the Mage, his mother’s murderer. And it’s understood that if Baz is Evil, Simon is Good.

But in WS, we see that Simon is the real killing machine. He and Penny take down the vampires while Baz holds them off. Then Simon kills the Formorian while Baz dangles the wereskunk and wonders what to do. And when Baz says he’ll snap Shepherd’s neck, Simon feels the need to declare his expertise.

Simon has switched to full-on battle mode. I haven’t seen him like this since the Mage died.

… It makes me realize that Simon had a while life I didn’t know about back in school. The Mage used him to fight whatever needed fighting–even when Simon was just a kid. (Simon was always just a kid.) And even though his power’s gone, Simon is still perfectly comfortable playing the boy soldier.

It just makes me so sad. Sad for Baz mostly, because that’s how I feel all my feelings now. What a mindfuck, though, to be treated/see yourself as a villain while the Golden Boy murders anything that crosses his path. And so hard to see this other, foreign, scary side of someone you love so much.

Story Time!!

So, obviously, I’m a big Red, White & Royal Blue fan. And I have this sign in my room that says ‘History, huh?’

My mom, who had not noticed the sign even though it had been up for a week or two, walks into my room one night, looks up at the sign on my bookcase and looks at me in confusion. ‘High Story Huh?’

I think I might have died a little in that moment
