Skittles-Flavored Fear
AKA "The Batfam rescue several Gotham-U students from Scarecrow's latest hostage situation. However, Dr. Jonathan Crane becomes obsessed when one student has a strange reaction to the Fear Toxin - extreme exhilaration and giddiness." Based on this prompt!!
Danny knows Ghosts feed on intense emotion to survive; he's never had to, never wanted to because it feels... parasitic. He never thought he'd be drugged with it. Sitting among his fellow students, tied up as the Straw Man or whatever monologues about his evil plans, Danny thought the worst thing that could happen would be hallucinating a dissection table. Maybe the GIW or his parents with gleaming googles and scalpels at the ready.
He doesn't even realize they're already being gassed until Danny takes a breath and tastes... skittles? Like, taffy, frosted cream, and melty-sweet syrup. The more he breathes it in, the more he feels strangely floaty. His head feels both heavy and light, stuffed with cotton, and he can barely even hear. (If he could hear, he'd probably would be horrified by his classmates screaming, writhing in terror all around him like a swarm of buzzing locusts.)
And then somebody - The Straw Man - is looming in front of him, grabbing Danny by the face, and curiously tilting his head. After a moment of contemplation, Straw Man rummages around in his satchel before Danny gets freaking hosed in the face with a concentrated dose of Fear Toxin. And then everything gets better worse. Danny feels euphoric. He's giggling, smiling, head so clouded from the high that he doesn't even notice even Dr. Crane drags him through the crowded lecture hall. Doesn't notice when two goons grab him by the arms and start to haul him toward the exit.
What he does notice is the Straw Man's body slamming into the wall. Several figures blur in shades of black, blue, green, and red as Danny squints to try and focus on at least one of them. Then, somebody - blue and black - is at his side. Danny kind of... slides down the hero's side, legs too wobbly to hold himself up, until the hero has to prop Danny into a half-laying-half-sitting position. Danny's still giggling, slurring something and his hand somehow finds the hero's face, patting it in thanks for the rescue.
It's only when the Big Bat comes over, fits an odd-shaped mask over Danny's face, that he stops smelling candy. Instead, he smells something putrid, almost like formaldehyde, sweat, and... unmentionable body fluids. Danny's head is throbbing like brain freeze and a pressure headache, nausea so intense he can taste it in the back of his throat and cramps in his stomach. One moment he's mumbling 'm gon' throw up and the next he's ripping the mask off his face. Turns to the side and... barfs on Batman. (If he were more coherent, he'd probably be mortified. Maybe even die again of embarrassment. Worse when Nightwing cackles uncontrollably from beside him. Ancients, he'd petted Nightwing!! On the freakin' face!!)
That's the last thing that Danny remembers. He wakes up in the hospital several hours later, several texts from Jazz, Sam, and Tucker saying they're taking the next flight to Gotham. Danny flops back into the hospital bed and groans. Groans louder when he remembers what happened in the lecture hall. At least there's probably a very small amount of people who can say they barfed on the Dark Knight of Gotham and got away with it, right?
(Cue Scarecrow constantly trying to kidnap Danny and the Batfam being put on Danny-watch to make sure he's safe. Maybe also trying to figure out why Danny reacts differently to Fear Toxin, but assume he's an undocumented meta with a unique biology. Danny absolutely thinks he's being stalked by Batman as revenge.)

MHA X DP Eri's Older Siblings.
Eri dies a lot, especially before Izuku Midorya comes in to save her. And I had a brilliant idea. Eri was killed by Overhaul, again, to grab her blood once more. Only during the process, Eri is sent to the Infinite Realms. She's scared and confused and lost, only to be found by Ellie! Maybe a 14 or 16 year old Ellie, and she takes Eri to Danny. Obviously Eri is still scared, but Danny and Jazz calm her down. And due to Time Displacement, Eri is in the Infinite Realms for a month. She's getting better thanks to Jazz, and well - she's been adopted into the Phantom Family! Eri loves her older sisters - Ellie is so fun, and showing her new things. Jazz is helping her get better, and both her brothers are so protective of her. She really likes Dan, he has her Red Eyes. Grandpa Clockwork is showing that her curse can be controlled! But then she's yanked back to the Real World by Overhaul. Who in the Living Realm, was only gone for like an hour. And she's traumatized all over again, and Overhaul wants more blood again, and she misses her siblings - she cries for them, she wants them to save her -- Only to wake up once more in the Infinite Realms - to find that the place is in SHAMBLES with all of her Siblings searching for her in a frenzy. Again, she's been missing for a MONTH and when they found her back, they instantly comfort her. The Phamily DOES find out why Eri disappeared, and realize she's being brought back to life - and Danny PROMISES to find where her Dimension is so they can go save her. And this effectively becomes routine - Eri is pulled back, but she's able to hold it together from crying as often, and gets to see the Realms when Overhaul kills her. And then MHA happens, and she runs into Deku. Who she finds comforting because his green eyes remind her of the comforting Green of the Infinite ... And eventually, she gets saved by the Heroes. Eri asks if her siblings sent them to find her, because she assumed Deku was a Ghost too - only to be met with confusion. Eri has siblings? She tried explaining, but that only leads to more misunderstandings and confusion amongst the heroes! Little Eri is just so confused - she wants her sisters, she wants to see her brothers and no one knows who she's talking about. That is, until a Green Portal opens up right on top of Overhaul's destroyed base - and Four Very Eldritch Siblings are searching for their Youngest Sibling.

Danny moves to Gotham...
When Danny decided on Gotham as his college of choice, he should have anticipated how much of a pain it would turn out to be. Before moving, he had thought his midwest suburbia was overwrought with ghostly activity.
Now seeing Gotham for what it was; he realized his small town had been an idyllic spot, perfect for a young halfa to slowly come to terms with his ghost powers. He was now thanking his lucky stars he hadn't had to deal with the ghosts of Gotham as a kid...
They would have torn him apart.
Once he'd gotten through his first week in town, he realized even the regular humans would have torn him apart too. This city seemed to have a special way of tearing people down, in every class and community.
If he'd been a normal disillusioned college student, he would've blamed systemic issues that can be easily summed up in statistics on the nightly news. But he knew better than that- there was a rot here. A rot that was otherworldly...
These ghosts were the accumulation of decades of depravity. Ectoplasm flowed as easily here as much as it did in his parent's basement lab. The veil was thin, and the ghosts could slip in and out with ease.
He wondered how long the city had been suffering this way, as some of the oldest spirits here seemed the most normal to him. A poet haunting the centuries old English building on campus, or a drunken sailor that frequented the historic "Gotham's oldest pub" near the harbor. Half the ghosts after the turn of the century were different generations of mobsters- most with tommy guns, and those ghost bullets were NOT fun to dodge on his way to class.
There were so many ghosts he had to watch his back around, he'd sometimes forget he needed to keep his eye on the living too. Without his ability to phase, he'd have been mugged or stabbed at least 3 times in his first week alone. He did enjoy the way that one street thug's eyes popped out of his head when Danny pulled the knife out of his shirt and chunked it in a garbage can.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
However Danny missed the way Red Robin's eyes also bugged out when he saw a mugging victim casually pull a knife out his chest and walk away. The 3rd robin nearly fell off his perch on the roof nearby.
"Hey Bats, looks like another Meta tourist is just walking around at night. Everyone keep an eye out for this kid, I hope he makes it home all right..."
The Last Wish of a Parent
DP x DC Prompt
Alfred died while Bruce was brutally injuring thugs and Rogues after Jason's death. The heartache over losing a grandson and his age had caused the butler to die before his time. This turned him into a ghost that was basically on a time limit, where he'll be moved to the Infinite Realms and stuck there until he decides to be reborn or is ended.
Alfred has been searching for a person to replace him in secret, as he doesn't want his family to be left fending for themselves with someone who isn't as good as him. Alfred has not found any luck in finding a replacement, as he is just too good of a butler to replace. That is until he finds a young adult that looks like him when he was that age all those years ago.
Danny is on the run, escaping his home dimension to stop him from becoming Dan. The GIW had taken everyone he cared about and killed them, just trying to get him. He had randomly entered a natural portal after making sure no one from his dimension could follow him by sealing it off, but not before getting Dani into the Infinite Realms and keeping Vlad out. It's in this new dimension where he encounters a familiar yet not so familiar face. Sure, this old man has some features similar to his, but he's sure that he hasn't jumped through time. And then he is offered a job to be a butler, which confirms that he's not in the future, and he was feeling antsy to do more things lately since he isn't old enough to take the throne of the Ghost King.
Danny has been slowly learning how to be the next Wayne family butler, even being trusted with the secret identities of them as well. Taking care of the Wayne's also helps his obsession, as he makes sure the Bats are in top condition to protect Gotham and the Earth.
He's slowly been replacing Alfred's cooking, cleaning, and baking with his, which isn't too different from Alfred's usual cooking, cleaning, and baking. The last thing Danny needs to do in order to succeed Alfred is to make his famous cookies and have the Batfam eat them without them saying that it tastes different. Alfred himself has taste tested his cookies and said that they taste like how he makes them. It doesn't stop him from worrying that they're not the same.
Gotham the build a city game.
Danny as he finally nearly finished 1/20 of his ghostly infinite king reports is tasked to help/dragged a nearly core crumbling addicted Spirit who refused to go to her check up and is a code core red to be in full chamber for recovery for the past centuries or three over a City building board game named Gotham, with Fright Knight as his backup.
It took Danny and Fright Knight about an agonizing hour and 20 minutes to wrangle her from the board game with her screaming, biting, kicking like a feral starving raccoon from the streets under a deal that He promised to play her board game in her stead while she goes back to her recovering.
The Lady explained the game with trembling hands that she watches over the city as the status piece, moves her character pieces here and there, items, and stuff around to built a utopian with random cards of consequences selected that take her ectoplasm as wild card if a character died and if she pick the wrong thing at the wrong time, but she been raking her core a bit after several mistakes, but her knights has been doing well so far.
She been playing for a long long time because her friends played their and bragged about their board game repeatedly resetting if a bad end for all their city that connected to hers, they have Central City, jackasshole holding the obvious cheatimg Gateway city, and her biggest frenemy/nemesis being that *itch with her Smallville and Metropolis just because she got a a few op characters doesn't mean her knights can't beat their ass if they were so busy!
The Lady's green glowing eyes and sharp teeth gritted hard with hatred, but her hate melted away due to how weak she was before continuing to speak.
He simply had to touch the status to continue the game, and please to the all mighty anicent, if her knights die under his watch, she will find a way to destroy him even if he is the current infinite King.
Danny can see pretty clear what Frostbite meant with crumbling game addicted Spirit, her skin was a sickly grayish green with obvious condensed rotting barely renew ectoplasm keeping her stable, her dress obvious tattered blacken to a tar like state that her own haunt was crumbling around her and the board game on the table.
Danny agreed though soup her in the thermos as Frostbite warned him about her little successful escape acts nearly up 4k times even with help that she crawl right back to the board game.
Danny glanced back at the board game after giving Fright Knight the thermos containing the patient spirit for Frostbite.
His hand touch the statue that change from a crowned women with wings holding a board game in one hand and sword in the other to a tall statue replica of him in his infinite king outfit holding a the solar systems of metal planets, his crown hover over his head like a halo simmered with star games and a scythe in the other hand.
It just a board game about building a city name gotham. How hard can it be.
....
....
....
Danny hisses like a possessed feral creature who just saw the light from being in darkness at Fright Knight who brought Jazz from starting summer break to see Danny hunch over renovated Gotham city mumbling about dastardly curses trying to latch on his ectoplasm but this time, this time he got the right item to fuck them up
His eyes look crazed and wild with a calculation burning desire to get a good ending, and white hair with dripping Tar, his crown was envelope in a icy fire, his nails sharper then diamond as he gripped and nearly chewed up clown character, the Spirts Haunt look like Danny's wail went through it several times before all cause that fucking *itch holding the Gateway fucked up the timeline again with the speeder character.
I got inspired by this post <-
Curse Turned Blessing 2.0 (click for clarity)
Damn, so no one wants to guess what’s the theme of my art this pride month?
Headcanon that basically the entirety of the Wayne family are bi and no matter what, they’re eating well when their partners get cursed lmaooo.
So while Jazz is worried that Jason won’t like it, he’s alr closing and locking the door 💀
Image description below:
Picture one is an image of Jazz, as a man, looking down and frowning. Her hair is short and instead of having a headband ribbon, her ribbon is tied to her hair. She holds her arm awkwardly. Behind her is a tiny chibi of her as a woman with an arrow pointing to her new form, showing her transformation.
Jazz: Jason, I got turned into a boy… I’m so sorry…
Picture 2 has an image of Jason smiling cheerfully, giving a thumbs up. There is a bi flag behind him and various exclamations, presumably his inner thoughts.
His inner thoughts: (ASDFFGHHJKLLL;. YESSSSS GAWWWDDDDDDD. Thank god I’m bi. I will take off those pants with my teeth. You say daddy’s home~. ON THE WALLS ON THE FLOOR ON THE BED ON THE TABLE IN THE TUB. HELL FUCKING YEAH!! I’m talking about innnittttttt. Please talk me through it.)
Jason: Nah, it’s fine. Nothing to be sorry about! ^^
You've heard of the Nobody Knows AU, but what if that was turned on it's head? An idea for how it could be an Everybody Knows AU.
—
The crowd gathered before the portal, the new park fixture just an octagonal hi-tech hole in a block of concrete. The people of Amity Park each had their own theories for why the mayor had suddenly decided to humor the Fentons’ crackpot ideas, but the most popular one was that, even though it wouldn’t actually work, it would still make a great tourist destination as the ‘spooky portal to the ghost world.’ The only reason people had even shown up for its ‘activation’ was because nothing else exciting ever really happened in Amity Park, so it was just some mild entertainment for the evening at the expense of the Fentons. There was even a news channel there filming, likely seeing it as something at least somewhat more exciting than their usual stories.
The mayor stood off to the side, talking with a few of his people, while the Doctor Fentons fiddled with their control panels a few feet from the portal. Their children stood a little ways from the doctors, wearing HAZMAT suits like their parent’s and looking extremely uncomfortable. The mayor said a few more things to his secretary, then walked before the crowd and stood in front of the portal.
“Greeting citizens of Amity Park! As you all know, the device behind me, when activated, is supposed to lead to the ghost world! Or, as the Doctor Fentons have dubbed it, the Ghost Zone! Regardless of its functionality, I believe this structure will be a staple of this park and this town from today on. I hope you’re as excited as I am!”
He paused a moment to allow the crowd to cheer, but all he got were a few scattered whoops. He moved on, unfazed.
“That’s what I like to hear! Now, Doctor Fentons,” he turned to address the brightly colored couple still messing with the control panels, “are we ready?”
The doctors tapped a few more things, then the wife, Madeline “Maddie” Fenton, looked up and answered, “Looks like we’re all good here!”
“We’ll crack this baby open in no time!” her husband, Jack Fenton, added.
“Splendid!” the mayor said, then turned back to the crowd, “Then it looks like it’s time! Let’s see just what this Ghost Zone looks like!”
With that he stepped away, getting several feet from it then shooting the Fentons a thumbs up. Jack thumbs upped in return, then both him and Maddie hit some buttons and moved some levers. The machine started whirring as it powered up and people started murmuring. They hadn’t thought it’d have any reaction, so the possibility that it might actually work entered their minds for the first time. The people in the front shuffled back a bit when the portal started getting louder. The news camera zoomed in on it, allowing the people at home to see the lights starting to turn on. The lights brightened, the noise got louder, and people started to actually fear what this would mean. If they really opened a portal to this Ghost Zone, wouldn’t that actually be bad? Wouldn’t they then have to worry about real, actual ghosts? The crowd moved further away and even the mayor started to look nervous.
Finally, the noise spiked and the lights flared and- it fizzled, a jolt of electricity going through it before the noise whirred back to nothing and the lights flickered out. It was quiet for a moment, then the crowd started chuckling amongst themselves. They couldn’t believe they’d actually, for a moment there, believed it would work. The Fentons went back to their control panel messing with it with increased frustration, but nothing changed and the portal remained dark and silent. They remained in that awkward silence for a short while. Then, when it was clear the portal would not be activating, the mayor stepped before the crowd again.
“Well, I suppose there we have it! It seems the portal will not be activating after all. But it’ll still be a very nice addition to our park! Thank you for coming, everyone, have a good evening!”
With that the mayor walked away, his people crowding around him as he made his way to his next appointment. The crowd started to disperse and the news camera turned to the reporter so she could say their farewell.
“No! Wait! Please!” Jack cried, but it fell on deaf ears as everyone moved on. Maddie put her hand on his arm and shook her head sadly. She knew there was no changing their minds. Their daughter, Jasmine “Jazz” Fenton, walked over to them.
“C’mon, I know this was disappointing, but it’s not the end of the world. Why don’t we go get some food then come back and see if we can fix it after?”
Jack and Maddie still looked dejected, so Jazz added, “Maybe we can even get some fudge?”
Jack brightened at the thought and Maddie sent her daughter a grateful smile as they walked back to the Ghost Assault Vehicle, or GAV for short. They didn’t realize their son hadn’t followed until someone yelled, “Danny!”
They, along with much of the dispersing crowd and the news camera, turned towards the sound. Beside the portal were three teenagers, goth girl Samantha “Sam” Manson, geeky boy Tucker Foley, and another boy in a HAZMAT, Daniel “Danny” Fenton. It was Sam that had screamed, for she and Tucker were watching Danny climb into the portal with worried expressions. His family’s own faces crinkled in worry and Maddie yelled, “Danny! Get out of there! It’s not safe!”
Danny turned towards his parents and shouted, “I’m gonna fix it!”
Then he started walking in.
“Danny! No!” Maddie yelled and they ran back towards the portal. Sam and Tucker hung worriedly around the mouth of the portal and the crowd started chattering in concern. At this point the noise had caught the mayor’s attention and he started walking back, trying to figure out what the commotion was about. Danny’s family had nearly made it back when the portal sparked again and whirred back to life, lights turning on and some sort of green energy gathering in the back. It was accompanied by a tortured, earsplitting scream.
“Danny!” Maddie screamed shrilly. The crowd gasped, alarmed, while the news camera managed to catch Danny spasming, electricity and green energy passing over him, his wails somehow becoming even louder.
The crowd’s own voices grew louder, alarm boiling over into panic, unsure on what they should do, causing debate amongst themselves. The camera kept its focus on the portal, but zoomed out enough to show the Fentons rushing to the control panels, where they frantically pushed buttons and turned knobs. They hadn’t ever considered they’d need an emergency off switch. Jazz stood beside her parents, her eyes on her brother in the portal and her hands over her mouth. Sam and Tucker stood before the portal, frozen in terror and staring at their best friend as they got a front row seat to his death. The mayor had stopped on his way back, his eyes glued to the portal but unable to bring himself to get any closer.
Then, with a flash of light, the portal stabilized into swirling green energy and the screaming abruptly cut off. Danny couldn’t even be seen any more, what was presumably the portal having covered where he was. Everything grew quiet for a moment, everyone holding their breaths.
But no boy appeared.
Maddie let out a sob and collapsed into her husband’s arms. Jack himself stared at the portal dazedly, loosely holding Maddie to him. Everyone stared at the portal in horror. They’d just watched the young Fenton boy die.
A dark spot in the swirling portal froze everyone’s breaths. Except for Maddie, who was too busy sobbing into her husband to notice it. The dark spot became recognizable as a human silhouette. People hardly dared to let themselves believe. There was no way Danny had survived that, right?
The silhouette stepped out of the swirling green mass, Tucker and Sam stepped back, and everyone else gasped. That was not Danny Fenton. It glowed from within, had white hair and green eyes when Danny’s had been black and blue, and had a black and white HAZMAT instead of the white and black one Danny had worn.
The portal was supposed to be to the Ghost Zone. This glowing being was definitely not human. There was only one logical conclusion. This was a ghost. But wait, maybe this was Danny Fenton. It didn’t take much leap in logic to figure that if they’d really just seen the boy die, that there was a chance he’d become a ghost.
The ghost leaned against the wall of the portal, looking disoriented and pained. It managed to stumble the rest of the way out, gripping the edge of the portal for support.
“Maddie,” Jack said. When she didn’t respond he shook her and added more urgency into his voice, “Maddie.”
Maddie managed to stifle her tears to look up at Jack. She noticed his horrified look and followed his gaze, gasping when she saw the ghost. The ghost looked around dazedly, but stopped when its eyes found Maddie.
“M-mom?” it said in concern and everyone took a breath in. That meant it really was Danny. Maddie pressed her hands to her mouth and let out a breathy sob. Danny’s ghost took a step away from the portal and towards her, but he nearly fell over and had to lean against the portal again. Sam and Tucker stepped forward to help but Maddie screamed, “Don’t touch it!”
They paused right next to Danny’s ghost, looking unsure of themselves. Maddie shakily pulled out of Jack’s embrace and walked closer.
“I-it might hurt you,” she added, although she looked heartbroken saying it. Tucker and Sam looked outraged.
“Like heck he will!” Sam said and grabbed Danny’s ghost’s arm to help steady him. He took a second to look over at her, but then he smiled. She smiled back. Tucker looked defiantly at Maddie and said, “He’d never hurt us!”
“It doesn’t matter who it was in life, it’s still going to be evil and willing to hurt you!” Maddie insisted. She couldn’t let these kids get hurt too, so she pulled out the ghost blaster she always carried and aimed it at Danny’s ghost. Tucker lept between Maddie and Danny’s ghost while Sam pulled Danny further away from Maddie. Jack raced over to stand by Maddie but looked conflicted and Jazz ran over and held a hand out to Maddie, as if to try and placate her. The crowd’s voices raised in alarm. Should they stop her? Or was she right and they should let her dispose of it before it hurt them?
Danny’s ghost’s look of betrayal broke everyone’s hearts and he shakily said, “M-mom?”
“Mom,” Jazz said insistently, “we don’t know that ghosts are evil! This is your first time meeting one, so we don’t know if the research is right! Maybe he’s a good ghost! We can’t just shoot him without knowing!”
Maddie shook her head roughly, tears streaming down her face, as she insisted, “There’s no such thing as a good ghost! If we don’t stop him now he’ll become a monster! He wouldn’t want that to happen and I don’t want that happening. I won’t let his memory be tainted like that.”
During their conversation Danny’s ghost’s eyes had gone wide and he looked down at himself. His yelp cut off further discussion as all eyes turned to him. He looked himself over, even pulling his hair down so he could see it. He looked at Sam with wide eyes, as if begging her to say it wasn’t true. Sam pursed her lips and reluctantly pulled out a miniature mirror, handing it to him. He took one look at his reflection and shoved it back into her hands. He looked her in the eye and gasped, “I-i’m dead?”
Sam looked away but didn’t answer. That in itself was an answer and Danny’s ghost took it as such. He turned wide, scared eyes back to Maddie. Maddie, who’s eyes were still pouring out tears. Maddie, who was still pointing that blaster at her son. Danny’s ghost took a step back.
“M-mom, please, I’m still me. I won’t hurt anyone, I promise.”
Maddie shook her head.
“You’re newly formed, so the last bits of your humanity are clinging to you. Soon enough, you’ll be just like the other ghosts.”
“Mom,” Jazz jumps in, “let’s at least give him a chance! We can even lock him up or something to make sure, but please, let’s not be hasty and at least see if it’s possible!”
Maddie hesitates, eyes flitting back and forth between her children. The silence is deafening, the crowd holding their breaths. Surprisingly, it’s Jack stepping up beside her that breaks it.
“Maddie,” he says while he slowly, gently, grabs the blaster in her hands, “I don’t want to kill what’s left of him.”
“Ghosts aren’t alive,” Maddie mutters, but lets Jack take the blaster from her.
“You know what I mean,” Jack says, and smiles brokenly as he drops the blaster, “But I want to believe he might be good. Let’s give it a try.”
Maddie bites her lip, watches Danny’s ghost tremble for a moment, then nods.
“Alright. I want to too.”
Everyone relaxes and the crowd gives a collective sigh of relief. Most of them were also hopeful that Danny’s ghost could be good. The Fenton parents cautiously approached Danny’s ghost. Danny’s ghost smiled at them shakily.
“Looks like ghosts do exist,” he says with a tremble and forced smile. Jazz laughs, a tear rolling down her cheek, and says, “Yeah, I guess they do.”
“Told you we knew what we were talking about,” Maddie says, smiling a little herself. That was the only real upside of this situation… Suddenly a bright white ring appears around Danny’s ghost’s torso, then splits and goes across his body, one going down towards his feet and the other up towards his head. When it finishes it disappears and Danny Fenton is left standing there, looking exactly as he had before he went into the portal.
Everyone stares in shock. What just happened? Danny seems just as mystified, staring at his now black again gloves like they’re foreign. There’s a breath, then Maddie practically jumps forward, grabbing Danny’s arm and ripping the glove off his hand, she tosses it over her shoulder, does the same with her own glove, and presses her fingers to Danny’s wrist. Everyone holds their breaths again, eager to hear the verdict. Danny certainly looked alive now, just as much as he’d looked dead a second ago. After a few seconds Maddie starts crying again and blubbers, “You’re alive.”
She pulls him into a tight hug but he doesn’t seem to mind, hugging her back just as tightly and starting to cry himself. The crowd cheers and the rest of Danny’s family and friends join the hug, letting out their own tears of relief. It takes a bit for everyone to calm down, but eventually the crowd quiets again and the group hug breaks apart.
“Now let’s get you to a hospital,” Maddie says, taking Danny’s arm to support him while they make their way to the GAV, the rest of his friends and family trailing behind them.
Now I like my secret identities as much as anyone else, but once I thought of the idea of reversing the nobody knows au the idea just wouldn't leave me alone. What if everyone knew right from the beginning? The idea fascinated me, but I'm already brainstorming three other DP fics and I've only been part of the phandom for a month and a half, and I'm part of other fandoms that I'm also working on fics for, I really really don't need another fic to work on.
So I decided to write out the beginning of the idea and post it on here. Normally I post on ao3 cause I wanna leave my tumblr as a place for me to just chill, but like with my other one, this one was kinda more a snippet so I felt it was more fitting here. I'm hoping that by posting it here I'll be able to get the idea to leave me alone. It worked for the other one. (But I was also less interested in that one to begin with.)
No I don't need to do a character study on how this would affect people's relationships with Danny. No I don't need to study how this would affect their perceptions of Phantom and ghosts and the events that happened. No I don't need to see how it might even change what events happen and how they go.
The idea is out in the world for others to explore if they want but my part in it is done. Hopefully. I really hope this works I very much don't need more to work on. I already have a hard time consistently writing as it is, which is definitely not helped by the number of fics I divide my attention between. Anyway I hope the idea of this is at least entertaining to some people out there. Thank you for reading.
DPXDC Prompt# 11- The Fenton Curse (Is HR-Aware)
Tim's life as Co-CEO (I think that's the role) has been going much more smoothly since he hired his secretary. Mr. Nightingale is a godsend, especially when it comes to having all the needed paperwork ready. It's just that Tim doesn't believe in the Fenton curse Danny mentioned once. It's just superstition, but the inkling in his brain is growing bigger and bigger. When there is a rogue attack. Again. And again.
From that point, there's always a rogue attack where Tim sends him without a doubt. Sure, Danny comes out unscathed most of the time, but it's insane!
He's paranoid enough to go to a coffee shop nearby on his day off when he suggests a roller skating rink he and the Waynes went to.
Then he sees Danny walking by with his sister from the window.
Then Danny gets YOINKED OFF THE STREET BY JOKER GOONS!
Batman has a system in place to keep an eye on potential future "mad scientists" to make sure he stops them Before they build that death lazer or Before they decide to mutate humankind into lizards.
He keeps a list of all the potential candidates. Depending on how likely they are to go ballistic, he'll visit them more or less often.
The Fentons have been on his list for a decade at this point, but they've always been very low priority. Especially after Constantine assured him that it's impossible to capture or access ghosts with technology. So he hasn't visited them for a few years.
However, the time is here for Batman to check on them once more. Only ... when he tries to find Amity Park on a map, it's gone without a trace. There's a technological black out where the city used to be.
Suddenly worried that the Fentons have switched from ghost hunting to a more sinister science while he wasn't looking, Batman decides to go in person to Amity.
Batman arrives at a city under lockdown by a sinister government agency he's never heard of before. There are ghosts running rampant in the city and bringing destruction everywhere. There's a young hero trying to keep both sides from killing each other. And the Fentons ... well, they've become full-blown mad scientist with a portal to the Ghost Zone in their basement.
Maybe he should have kept a closer eye on the Fentons after all...
Danny gets friendship/mentorship stories with most of his rogues...
What about Warden Walker?
There's a unsupervised, less than a year dead, ghost kid that very obviously knows nothing about how ghosts or the infinite realms work. You may be a strict control freak asshole, but you can't in good conscience let this kid get hurt.
So, reluctantly, put the, omg it's a halfa, is this the prophesy, kid on probation on the condition he accept lessons from Walker, his men, and his allies.
Set up protections around the portal and rules so the kid doesn't feel the need to destroy his health protecting that ungrateful town.
Work to get the older sister custody of the kid and/or both of them away from their parents.
