people love to take characters who are men and go "what if he was a prettyboy, what if he was a femboy, what if i drew art of him looking exactly like a woman?" and then look at you like you've grown a second head when you say "what if she was a trans woman?"

Saw TF One loved it. My main complaint is that I wish we got to know more about why Starscream hated Sentinal. i mean, we basically did know, but i always hate when TF media tends to skim over Starscream's oppression or whatever. It was mostly made into a joke.

And on top of that, I find it really interesting that Starscream had been the defacto leader of the Decepticons for years supposedly. They had accepted him, he was clearly keeping them alive and they respected him. Even Soundwave and Shockwave were loyal to him.

I wish the transfer of power between him and megatron made more sense. Like, i suppose them being fighting bots (all the cons) it would make sense that the 'strongest' one would be viewed as a leader.

BUUT i wish we got to know how starscream was as a leader, how the people came to clearly respect him, etc., before Megatron took the position from him. This was one of the few iterations where Starscream was a leader, and it didn't focus on it that much.

I always think writing starscream as an incompetent leader is extremely lazy writing, so i appreciate TF One did the opposite.

i remember when i was in the fandom, a handful of people would get really really mad when people would headcanon starscream as trans fem, or would get angry if people used she/her pronouns on startscream or said that he was a woman.

there was an artist who had 'dni if you use she/her pronouns for starscream' implying that he didn't want people to interact with him if they saw starscream as transfem, despite him being trans himself...

there was another person who hopped in the tags and said that people making starscream transphobic were actually terfs, despite the fact that it was majority transfem people doing it...but once again the guy saying that way trans.

what was that about. i get sometimes starscream being feminized can be done distastefully. but when trans fems, and sapphics/other femme people are doing it in such a way where it resonates with our own genders, sexualities, etc., why the hell did it offend people so much. especially other trans people?

LOOK , I enjoy a good body/psychological horror, I really do. But in transformers earthspark?? Absolutely not! especially when the subject is my favorite character

Earthspark season 3 (yes they renamed it) is coming out tomorrow, and to be honest I don't know what to feel about it. Hoping that they don't fucked up Prowl's character here

As I always say, I'm not in the transformers fandom anymore BUUUT if there is anything that pertains to Starscream then lemme know. IDGAF about spoilers. I check this blog like once a month.

As for prowl, i don't blame you for being worried. Prowl is a character i didn't like at first, but when i was in the fandom, he slowly became one of my favorites because of the complexity behind him. There are so many ways to go wrong with prowl, by either taking away his complexity to paint him as someone who is misunderstood, or by making him out to be an irredeemable, evil person. I'm currently not going to watch Earthspark, but...good luck to all of you who are.

After the whole Starscream thing in S2 I kinda washed my hands of it. While I didn't mind him being evil, and quite like it, I do think him being evil should've been handled in different ways.

Just saw a clip where Megatron and Starscream's first encounter in TF one, that starscream is competent especially with his battle skills, fast reflexes and air manouvers, clearly that he has a great advantage against Megatron. But sadly he got defeated by Megatron's brute strength (plot armor lol) and arm canon.

it's always crazy to me how people used to and still do get weirdly offended at the mere motion that people hc starscream as lesbian or trans fem. when the most common trans hcs for him are the complete opposite. i remember i was on twitter and someone blocked people on spot for hc starscream as trans fem or lesbian and asked those ppl not to interact with him..can you imagine if people asked people who hc starscream as gay/trans masc not to interact with them...idk.

sometimes, i think people tend to forget that megatron is always handed redemption arcs and starscream is....not...and yes it can be frustrating.

this isnt about es and tbh im not really in the fandom anymore. but it does piss me off when people get mad at starscream fans for wanting a decent redemption arc.

i dont mean a redemption arc that overly woobifies him like season 1 earthspark fans attempted to....i mean a really well fleshed out one where he is held accountable, still deals with his evil tendancies, but also gets to live and be happy at the end.

I'm actually going through a hiatus currently--an indefinite one. I may be leaving the fandom eventually. I still like TF, and I'm always gonna love starscream but a lot of stuff has happened in this fandom both on here, twitter, etc., where I've seen a lot of harassment and bullying, I've also been the subject of that as well. I've made some good friends but have also had some stab me in the back. all in all, this fandom just has not been a fun experience for me. it helped me get through extremely depressing times and I'll always love it for that, but I've never truly felt at home here.

To be Starscream has always been a commendable Decepticon leader. I don't know why transfomers prime did the thing where they made him seem incompetent. Because in S1 before Megatron returned it was heavily implied Starscream had been leading the Decepticons for years in Megatron's absence and he kept them fed and alive during an energon drought. Soundwave also respected him.

He is a good leader tfp writers just wanted to assassinate his character.

Ok so I really need to talk about Transformers Prime Starscream and some crazy stuff he did

One thing about him is that he almost killed Optimus Prime in the first season ( Season 1 episode 14) , used warriors Megatron forgot about (Skyquake and Makeshift) killed Cliffjumper, almost found coordinates of autobots base(makeshift situacion) lived on his own without his T-cog, was ready to operate on himself (forgot what episode was that, I think one with red energon), took Omega keys from autobots (he is only bot that made Optimus lose his temper and scream) found autobots base coordinates, really resourceful ( he is using everything that can be used, Makeshift is best example) and my favorite thing about him is he is pretty durable (He can handle Megatron's beatings, serious injuries and more).

So overall when we list what he has done we can see why Megatron wanted him as his second in command. Not to mention his actual military experience as a seeker before the war. He is a character worth respecting, some people often says his plans fail but it's usually because of others (if vihecon didn't get closer to Wheeljack he wouldn't free himself and makeshift would be successful,he would even kill Optimus if Megatron didn't intervined and if Skyquake listened to him he would also be able to fight Optimus and Bumblebee). I think he gets unfair treatment from fandom because of this and if you actually start peeling layers of his character you would see his real worth. Just wanted to say this because I really love this character and he is my favorite transformer.

What are your opinion on Transformers Prime Starscream?

So, ignoring season 2 of Earthspark for a moment and following the idea of Starscream actually caring for the other decepticons, what do you think of the idea of him subconsciously taking Megatron's anger off the others and onto him? Like he did somewhat care for the decepticons back under Megatron's leadership, but didn't have Hashtag's advice and just redirected Megatron's anger because it was the only thing he could think of. Did he even show that he cared?

I like this, I like the idea of him having to come to terms with his own anger issues and abusive actions, especially toward his trine and the people he loves. It would be realistic for him to shoulder the anger Megatron threw his way but then take it out on others.

I think if the writers cared about character development, they would have had Starscream actually come to terms with and deal with his anger issues and his abusive actions in trying not to be like Megatron. Like i said, i wanted Starscream to be evil and i kinda didn't like his relationship with Hashtag, so I don't really care that he ignored that. BUT what i did really wanna see was how Starscream himself actually held himself accountable while trying to be a decent, evil Decepticon leader. And in that, he would eventually show that he cared and loved his people. It wouldn't be an easy journey, it would be an uphill battle.

Starscream is still dealing with the effects of how Megatron treated him, likewise, we know he was rotten BEFORE Megatron so that is something he will also have to confront/deal with.

If the writers cared about anything other than boosting toy sales and using people of color to make money without giving them any narrative depth, we could've seen a very interesting, and believable arc for Starscream where he was able to remain evil and cunning, but clearly cared about the people he loved.

think show!cersei actually giving a shit about Myrcella and tomamen or idk book alicent caring about erm--helaena. the point is starscream still has the ability to be a very evil, repulsive person but his morality would come from the fact that he still loves and cares for the cons but he still has to learn how to show he cares for them without relying on abusive behaviors.

I'm sorry but he basically is one IMO for most of ES 😭 and it seems as if he is one in S2 as well. As much as I complain about everyone's arcs being reduced in s2 and the writing being bad, Megatron's plot or lack of one was really bad T-T. TBH, he was 50% NPC in season one because he mostly stood there for the second part of episodes if he wasn't getting mind controlled or captured.
