The first photo in this video is the main cotton ball design I created, which I turned into a surface pattern design. I then superimposed the design on the model's dress for my collage. Everything was done using Procreate. I created a #Skillshare class to show students how easy it is to make a surface pattern design from a simple doodle using #Procreate - for this class, I demonstrate by creating a doodle of a lady bug.

I emphasize organization so that each student can develop the base skills he/she will need to create complex designs later down the road. The class is designed for students who are already familiar with Procreate, but new students will be able to follow along. My intent is for each person to leave the class feeling inspired to launch his /her new hobby as a surface pattern designer.
