Why would transition save them?: "Personally, I think Blanka would consider gender and gender labels for the most part partially inapplicable to them because they simply don't understand most gender labels that require lots of introspection. Even labels like "boy" or "girl" don't make sense to Blanka; I don't think he thinks about conventional gender identity that much, so I don't think he'd consider most labels to apply to him. However, one label, a xenogender called biogender, takes up the other half of his demiquoigender identity: he considers his gender and his whole identity, at least by the time of Street Fighter 6, to be "a spirit of the forest", so I don't think he'd really have labels like "boy" or "girl" because only "gender is mostly inapplicable to me" and "forest spirit" makes sense to him. His narrative is heavily nonbinary coded to me, too: Blanka desires to be popular, and often embarks on crazy schemes, whether it's Dan trying to help him be a "real man" (again, more transgender narratives: Blanka realizing he doesn't need to be a man, or fit masculine roles to be fulfilled is something he shares with Dan who ALSO has highly nonbinary narratives in canon), getting scammed into selling "Blanka-chan dolls" and being called creepy, or just being regarded as odd or a freak by everyone around him feels like a trans narrative if there is one. I feel like transition has already saved Blanka by the time of Street Fighter 6, in that he doesn't feel he needs to do anything necessarily MEDICALLY to express his gender, he just needs to be himself and embody the spirit of the rainforest."--mod @sunkern-plus
