For Joe (b. November 20, 1947)
James Gang’s version of The Buffalo Springfield song, Bluebird. I far prefer this version. Bill Szymczyk is a wizard in the studio. Keep in mind this is from the first album Joe Walsh ever did. His guitar work is already incredible.

Sexy Ways, Lou Ann Barton
Lou Ann Barton was a member of the Triple Threat Revue, with W.C. Clark and Stevie Ray Vaughan. She was a founding member of Vaughan’s band Double Trouble, and did a stint with the jump Blues band Room Full of Blues.

“...John Fogerty, guitarist and voice of Creedence Clearwater Revival, has released Wrote A Song for Everyone (2013), where he revisits the greatest successes achieved with Creedence and others...For the task [he] invited many illustrious people: Foo Fighters, Urban Keith, Tom Morello, My Morning Jacket and Kid Rock, to name a few. Foo Fighters open the album with Fortunate Son. Heavier and faster, the version does not compromise and shows that at age 68, John Fogerty still gives rock and roll lessons to a lot of people.”
Para a tarefa convidou muita gente ilustre: Foo Fighters, Keith Urban, Tom Morello, My Morning Jacket e Kid Rock, referindo apenas alguns.

Dylan & the Dead - It’s All Over Now Baby Blue Recorded live at Giants Stadium on July 12, 1987
Bob Dylan toured extensively with the Grateful Dead in 1987 and later released an album of live recordings from that tour, however it did not include this classic Dylan song.

the fisherman - david tattersall (leo kottke cover)
from David Tattersall’s session on Marc Riley BBC Radio 6 Music
i have been listening to mostly acoustic guitar instrumentals lately, this particular one is up there on my list of perfect songs.
i haven’t seen any photos from this session so i’m using my signed little martha sleeve as the album art for this…even though this song isn’t on that album.
