I read a fic or sumn somewhere a while back where gwen is about to die but then miles uses his electric shock thingy to jumpstart her heart and i honestly think this would be such a good way to go about it in btsv

im so happy atsv came out on digital and sparked a resurgence of convo abt it but im so sad it had to happen while im on vacation and dont have time/energy to engage as well 😭

in hindsight posting the first chapter of my fic right before i go on vacation was probably not a good idea...

my roommate was the same when we watched it together. then when we went to see atsv she made kissing hands whenever miles and gwen were in the same frame 😭

I still remember that when I went to see ITSV in January 2019, in the scene where Gwen and Miles say goodbye, the whole room got more excited than usual and they started to encourage them to kiss saying "KISS, KISS, KISS" 😭🫶

is my first(ish) post on this blog a shameless plug? …maybeeee

i made this blog because i wanted to have a space to talk about writing and fics that’s separate from any of my other accounts, so i’ll be posting writing updates and stuff here.

i have so many spider-verse fics in my head and so little time…but this was one i was especially excited to write and i’m currently working on chapter two, will hopefully have it done by friday 🤞🏼

Really solid thread by phil_spvrs on Twitter about why Earth-8 in Beyond the Spider-Verse wouldn't be a great idea:

Unpopular opinion: Please keep Earth-8 as far away from Beyond the Spider-Verse as possible 😬 Like, I'm sure the amazing people behind the movie would find a suitable reason to include Earth-8 and pull it off amazingly, I'm just not a fan of the concept. Let me explain I have seen people who want Gwen to meet Miles and Gwen's married Earth-8 counterparts, like she did in the comics. They want the Earth-8 variants to be the reason why she ultimately decides to pursue a relationship with Miles. I DON'T LIKE THAT IDEA. There is a reason why Gwen, in the comics, decided to stay friends with Miles because she felt like her hand was forced.

I want Gwen and Miles to choose each other REGARDLESS of what happens in other dimensions. That's the whole concept behind "There is a first time for everything, right?" I don't want Gwen to choose Miles because she sees a married version of them and goes "Oh, we will end up together anyway so might as well." They need to choose each other because they LOVE each other, no other reason. No outer influence. Any other version of them should be irrelevant to their relationship because they are in love with each other andd not because destiny tells them to do something one way. When they end up together in Beyond they'll have overcome incredible odds, basically destiny and canon itself to be together. It would cheapen that ending significantly if the reason for that is that Gwen saw other versions of them and goes "Oh, neat."

This is something that's been feeling a little off to me lately after initially being on Team "That'd Be Cute", but they put it into words much better than I would have been able to.
