TAKE THAT!: AN LGBT ACE ATTORNEY CHARITY FAN ZINE

It’s finally here! We’re proud to present Take That! to you all after months of work. Take That! is a charity zine made by and for LGBT Ace Attorney fans, meant to show the community experience and how it thrives in all its variety – love, family, friends and life, all through the scope of our beloved lawyer game.

This zine:

contains over 40 artists from across the fandom, ranging in skill level, age and experience.

is SFW and suitable for all ages.

has both illustrated and written works

Take That! is on sale at Gumroad at a pay-what-you-want rate. This means that if you can’t afford to pay, you don’t have to. if you can, you choose what you give. PLEASE NOTE: Gumroad charges a 30 ¢ + 3.5% service fee, so keep this in mind when donating!

All proceeds from this project will go to benefit the Los Angeles LGBT Center, an institution that provides vital resources to the community, including: temporary youth shelter, affordable senior housing, legal assistance, medical help (counseling, HIV testing, addiction treatment, pharmaceutical services etc), transition resources, education, and so much more. We WILL be posting donation receipts on this blog as they come in for transparency.

How old are you? I'm almost 34.

What’s your current job? I'm a caretaker for my elderly parents.  I also do some freelance coding/art jobs.

What are you talented at? I'd say I'm okay at coding, writing, and artistic stuff.

What is a big goal you are working toward (or have already achieved)? I'd like to go back to school someday.

What’s your aesthetic? Camouflage & grungy stuff.

What’s a topic you always talk about? Video games!  It changes which one I talk about most.  Right now, predictably, it's Ace Attorney.

What’s a pet peeve of yours?  Intolerance of people who are different, and unwillingness to examine oneself and accept that you might have been wrong.

Good advice to give? If someone gives you proper constructive criticism and it makes you feel defensive, examine why it makes you uncomfortable rather than dismissing it.  I find that personally, when I get defensive about criticisms, it's because I know the other person is right but don't want to admit it.

4: What’s the one thingyou especially love about roleplaying your muse?

Neil is a very differentperson than I am, with a lot of unique perspectives on things.  He'sactually very different from anymuse I've ever played.  A lot of time I yell about how much I hatethis guy, but it's because his taste in everything is radicallydifferent from mine.  It's really interesting to write about a guywho is so inherently different than I am, especially since I'mgenerally drawn to characters that I empathize with a lot (see:Edgeworth).

That'sgonna have to be Faris Sherwiz from Final Fantasy V.  Canonically enby pirate captain who kicks ass and is best bros with a sea dragon? Sign me the fuck up.

I'min the middle of some weird werewolf book my niece gave me.  I haveno idea what it's called.  It reminds me of Laurel K. Hamilton exceptwithout the copious amounts of sex.  Ithink the last book I read and finished was my 900th reread of HarryPotter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Love in the sense of friendship sort of love, if not sibling love. Angel would do damn near anything for him, anything from keeping him from doing something stupid, needing to PROPERLY EAT *AHEM* 

She loves seeing him smile, he is her prosecutor. Someone she holds in high regard. She knows he doesn’t feel the same about her that she had felt about him, so, she had allowed those feelings to be buried and told herself that she’s going to be like that sister that looks after him. Someone he can rely on. Even including pulling jokes on him when she can. Ps: Found your office phone yet, Neil???
