3/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a summary of my review with no spoilers if you want the full review check out my Goodreads! We did a full review of the Godoy he and and the laughable parts of this book.

THE GOOD

the plot was quick paced I was able to read this book in 3.5 hours

Most of the characters were strong and well described. There weren’t TO MANY characters where you go overwhelmed tho.

This book has an open ending this the controversy surrounding it. I find this a point in the books favor. Thrillers are supposed to hold mystery and make the READER question what they know to be true. That’s what you’re left with. It’s so strong it splits the readers. Most people things this is the best book ever or the worst and I genuinely believe a lot of that is because of the ending. Books are meant to cause emotions and MAN does this book cause a stir up.

THE BAD

There were multiple plot holes, or dead end storylines that didn’t need to be in there or could have been written in a different way which may have pushed the book over the mediocre line.

A lot of time was spend describing sex and neglects time when we could have gotten more back story. when this is advertised as a thriller I would have alluded to the sex and focused on the story and setting up more thriller situations or moments of mystery. Even taken more opportunity for a red herring or two.

I feel like there was intentional things the writer did that is not interpreted easily as a reader. What the intention written vs what is read are different things and causes issues when trying to understand the book

Summary

This book has many good parts and many bad parts. But neither overwhelm the other. Leaving this book mediocre at best for me. In limbo with the potential to be great but a slight missed mark. And that’s judging based of this supposedly being a thriller. Now if you’re wanting romance with a little mystery thrown in sure it’s perfect but that’s not what most of us read thrillers for.
