Our invitation to play was very successful. The crafty cherubs have been so responsive to all the sensory experiences I have implemented, must admit I'm loving it too. #childhood #children #childcare #toddler #babies #sensoryplay #sensory #sensoryactivity #earlylearning #earlychildhoodeducation #educator #toddleractivities #playbased #playtime #playbased #playmatters #eylf #aussiemums #aussiekids

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE IMPACT YOU HAVE ON A CHILD'S LIFE..On Friday I sadly attended the funeral of a young man I had once taught from the age of 3 to 5 years old. He never forgot me if he saw me in the street he would run up to me with a big smile and for a hug and proudly tell me his many accomplishments he had on the footy field. When I spoke to his mother we would always have a laugh about how when he was in my room he use to cry and beg to go to childcare on Saturday and Sunday to see me. After the funeral I went up to his mother to offer my condolences and tell her "what a honour it was to be part of his world for those 3 years" through her tears she whispered "YOU WERE HIS WORLD FOR THOSE 3 YEARS". #aussieteacher #aussieteachers #aussieteachertribe #educator #educators #eylf #teacherfollowteachers #teachertribe #iteach #teachermum #aussiemums #teachershare #learningtogether #education #earlychildhood #earlychildhoodeducation #aussieteachersofinsta

Sorry in advance for another long post! But please read on!! You may have noticed from my past posts that our craft cherubs focuses more on the process then the outcome. I believe this is important not only involving craft but in all experiences that each child learns through play and open-ended activities. It allows them the chance to explore the world around them, ask questions, and see how things work. It also allows them room to be themselves, make their own decisions, and just create! Whilst developing fine and gross motor skills, sensory exploration and building self confidence, creativity and self-expression. For example our bubble painting we have been engaging in, lots of splashing to create the bubbles, amazement when the colours were added to change the colour of the water more fun splashing, watching the paper change colour when placed in the water or when putting the bubbles on the paper. Then with a little tweaking from myself we created some adorable mermaids to coincided with our ocean theme. #teachersdownunder #toddler #toddleractivities #earlylearning #invitationtoplay #earlychildhood #craftbabies #babies #openended #playmatters #playbased #playtime #sensory #sensoryplay #finemotor #eylf #aussieteacher #aussieteachers #busytoddler #wherelearningmeetsplay #childcare #letthembelittle #childcare #childsplay #baby #aussiemums #aussiekids #teachersfollowteachers #teachertribe

Packed up, heading to the farm again,  to refresh and recharge myself. Today as an extension of the Crafty Cherubs enthusiasm for participating and listening to the very catchy BABY SHARK song. We engaged in some ocean water play, an amazing sensory experience introducing them to more textures and temperatures (warm water as the weather is a bit cooler) . The water play provided a rich and valuable early childhood experiences to develop children’s creativity and imagination also an opportunity for them to play co operate with others, positive interaction,  improve co ordination skills  plus developing eye hand co ordination. But most importantly its lots of fun.

All ready for our invitation to pay with pasta and reuse of our easter eggs. Soo loving the colour. WHAT'S YOUR MOST ENGAGED RESOURCE IN YOUR ROOM??? The most easiest to make and most used resource in my room by far is the classic BALL DROP. No need for me to extend on this activity within my program the Craft Cherubs find new ways to engage with this classic everyday. #eylf #eylfoutcome1 #childcare #earlylearning101 #earlylearning #earlychildhood #craft #babies #toddler #handmade #toddleractivities #openlearning #playmatters #playbased #letthemplay #aussieteacher #aussieteachers #teachersofinstagram #teachertribe #craftykids #crafty #homeschooling

WHAT DOES ANZAC DAY MEAN TO YOU? The last couple of weeks at our centre the other rooms have been busy implementing Anzac activities into their programs. As I’m in the babies/toddler room I reflected on what importance and significance this experience would be for my little cherubs as a lot of the EYLF pages and their followers on Facebook didn’t have positive views on implementing such experiences into programs for the younger children or older children for that matter which I found conflicting as the EYLF promotes COMMUNITY and coming from a small community town Anzac day is of importance with the dawn service and march having very high attendance and participation. I also took time for some self-reflection on what Anzac Day meant to me as a child because both sides of my family had relatives that had given services and their lives. I was encouraged and in turn encouraged my daughters to participate in Anzac Day commemorations therefore the view or concept of the day being one of glorifying war was and still is foreign to me as it always one of gratitude and remembrance. The EYLF also promotes PARTNERSHIP/COMMUNICATION with families within our centres I engaged my families in discussion of what Anzac Day meant to them and their families as not wanting to offend the first and foremost most important people my programing affects. I received positive feedback from my families about commemoration, remembrance and gratitude for our service and fallen men and women. The one discussion that stuck with me was with one of our Aboriginal families who are very proud of their Uncle Len who was the only Aboriginal fighter pilot to serve in world War 2 and who Nanny still remembers fondly. The more I reflected on this it became apparent that even though my babies/toddlers would not be learning anything per say that I felt the need to incorporate an experience that would acknowledge this indeed very significant day. I decided on apple printed poppies as it extended on from our sensory experiences and posted information on our extraordinary brave Aboriginal men and women that have served in conflicts around the world in the room. LEST WE FORGET

Today we engaged in an extension from our Jelly sensory with a citrus sensory experience which the Turtles enjoyed with lots of positive interaction between each other and myself. We used our touch, sight and taste senses with lots of feeling the texture of the fruits, looking at the colors and trying the different tastes. With lots of smiles, laughter and using our fine motor skills to grasp the different shaped fruit. . . . #learningthroughplay #letthembelittle #childhood #waldorinspired #children #childcare #child #toddler #toddlerfun #toddleractivities #keepthembusy #kidsactivities #educators #earlylearning #aussiekids #aussiemums #mums #montessori #sensoryplay #sensory #finemotor #lovemyjob #montessoriinspired #babylove #baby #playtime #playmatters #playbased #letthemplay #childbasedplay #teachersofinstagram #teaching #funwithkids
