This album is a rare compilation of beats made over the years. The sound quality of some of the tracks might differ since some were recorded live and in different formats. All in All, this should be a delightful musical journey into the mind of Houston's most excentric producer.

The Wonderful world of Reuven Wallack here is a little peek into his mind!
It’s funny. In some ways I’ve made a complete circle regarding my attitude towards creating art. Back in 1998 when I first started painting, my interest in psychoanalysis led me to paint quite quickly and then analyze and find unconscious imagery that came out of the deep recesses of my mind. Now over 20 years later, my newest work which I believe to be my best yet falls along similar lines. They consist mostly of color pencil drawings. While doing this work, I don’t think. That’s right...I don’t think. Well for the most part, I don’t. Sometimes I pause and think about compositional matters or specific color choice or most overall when there is a specific object to be drawn. But other than these fleeting matters, I’m drawing from as near I can from the unconscious. No decisions, no thought, just where the pencil takes me. This I find to be extremely liberating and produces work which many times turns out to be quite complex, but in reality I’m producing them in auto-drive like the cars of the future.

Michael Richard Thron (born 1990) in Stamford CT, currently is an MFA Graduate student at the University of Maryland, College Park and received his BFA from Syracuse University. His practice investigates materiality, entropy, and negative space as a material and tangible component. Through gathering, manipulation, and replication his work acts as a conduit to examine the evolution of the self, exploring this through sculpture. He is a reward recipient of The Mid-Atlantic Sculpture Prize and Daniel Ohlke Award as well has been a resident artist at Salem Art Works and has exhibited in the US and abroad.

Heshka’s artistic production is undeniably influenced by the stylistic expression of the pulp magazines and B movies that have always fascinated him; he shares, "The overall theme that weaves all the work together is the celebration of individuality, and celebrating our individual weirdness, quirks, the things that make us who we are. The political climate, the actual climate, and questions about privacy and reality have been heavy on my mind this year. I didn’t necessarily want to do a show that literally explored these themes, but rather has these themes drive my exploration of individual freedom and the evolution and shift of our relationships with each other as we continue to race forward. The show itself has split three ways: a) the original art from Mean Girls Club: Pink Dawn, b) the debut of my new comic book, Frog Wife (with a new print and a large oil painting and art from the comic book), and c) a series of new paintings. The narratives in all these works vary, but there is a thread of rebellion, of flipped or evolved stereotypes and turning figures inside out to reveal an inner self. The show started as an excuse to exhibit my comic book art, but soon took on a life of its own." Ryan Heshka, entitled FREEKS, being hosted at Los Angeles’ Corey Helford Gallery from August 10th through September 14th

The Work of Junko Mizuno, Mayuka Yamamoto, and Travis Lampe
The group show opens  Saturday, February 23  from  7pm - 11pm  in  Gallery 2. The reception is open to the public and the exhibit will be on view through  Saturday, March 30. The space is open Tuesday - Saturday, 12pm - 6pm. Corey Helford Gallery is located at 571 S. Anderson St. Los Angeles, CA 90033. About Junko Mizuno: Having grown up in Tokyo, Mizuno is a self-taught artist recognized for her unique visual iconography of powerful and often sexy women. Although her art refuses to be categorized, much of it is based on Japanese pop culture from the '70s and '80s, with the source of her inspiration stemming from fetish art, folk art, religious art, psychedelic art, pin-up art, advertising art, vintage toys, fashion, comic, food, nature, movies, TV shows, video games…almost everything that surrounds her. Currently residing in San Francisco, she’s constantly working on new comics, paintings, illustrations, and product designs ranging from toy figures to T-shirts. Her work has been featured in stores, museums, and fine art galleries around the world. About Mayuka Yamamoto:Born in 1964 in Okayama, Japan, Yamamoto received her master’s degree at Tokyo’s Masashino Art University in 1990 and joined the Japanese Government Overseas Study Program for Artist to continue her studies in London until 1999. Her works have been shown in several solo shows held by Japan’s Gallery Tsubaki and her 2007 solo show, titled  Deer Boy and Other infants, was hosted by Canvas International Arts gallery in Amsterdam. She also participated in group shows at the Korean International Art Fair (2004–2007) and Young Japanese Painting (2007, Amsterdam). Yamamoto is known for her oil paintings portraying children in animal suits or possessing animal features, to reveal their inner world. Like a protective armor in response to their emotions and psychological state, they seem to instinctively hide behind a second skin in the form of animal costumes or some other defensive physical animalistic features. In some of the pieces, Yamamoto paints settings inspired by nature, further enhancing the contemplative space into which the subject seems to find solace in the dreamlike natural habitat. About Travis Lampe: Lampe grew up in a small town in Kansas. After earning a degree in Graphic Design, he took a job in advertising as an art director in Chicago. While making ads for breakfast cereals and well-known purveyors of inexpensive furniture over a period of several years, he secretly began “developing his illustration style,” which is not the same thing as “procrastinating.” Finally, when he felt the world was ready, he began his slow explosion onto the art and illustration scene, as it were. He currently lives and works in Chicago.

the new photography project by Sophie Barbasch----- Military Logic
I went to photograph the military police school in Fortaleza, Brazil in 2016, right when President Dilma Rouseff was being removed from office in what many saw as a coup. It brought to mind the fragility of democracy and the memory of the dictatorship, particularly as conservatives were calling for a return to military rule.
Although the military police is a separate institution from the military itself, it was closely allied with the dictatorship and in many ways continues to embody the same politics.
I was curious to see how the students reacted to a program that prioritizes discipline and hierarchy amidst the political tensions of 2016. But what struck me the most was not the history or context so much as the way they looked at each other. In an environment that is all about surveillance and optics, I observed them observing each other. I thought about how the simple act of looking can be disruptive. This idea is perhaps even more relevant now in 2019, as the far-right Jair Bolsonaro begins his presidency, challenges various democratic institutions, and fills his cabinet with members of the military.

Cray Talent!!!.................................................. HUSH
HUSH's unique style is recognizable through its focus on the female form set within backgrounds filled with an expressionist’s freedom of layering and color. The serene balance of traditional painting is combined with a messier passion, influenced by the Western traditions of action painting and graffiti, culminating in a harmony that feels surprisingly natural.
The opening reception for “Remix” will be hosted Saturday, October 28 from 7-11pm in Gallery 2 at Corey Helford Gallery. The reception is open to the public and on view through November 25.
