Update For This Account
Soooo I’m in college now. And if your not aware, college takes a lot of time. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to write something else for this account. I’m still feeling really unmotivated and really the only feedback I get is likes which really mean nothing on this site. I still love my characters and if I ever do get motivation then maybe one day I’ll do it, but it’s been several months and I’ve got other stuff to do now. So I’ll still leave everything up but I can’t promise any new stories for a while most likely

Chivalry is going on hiatus
I just have no motivation to actually write currently. There as been zero feedback on the series since it started (besides my friend who I often give sneak peeks). I have no idea is anyone else actually wants me to continue this or not and it makes me not want to write.
I’ll probably post another chapter if I get a stroke of inspiration, but until then it’s safe to say there won’t be many updates until people start giving me a reason to write it...
Sorry if this sounds self center but I can’t write with out motivation.

Prince Richard Grayson was always the people’s favorite. He was kind the the civilians of his kingdom. He was the leader of the kingdom’s knights. He was a role model to his younger brothers. But when a certain bandit crashes his hunt one day, he can’t help but fall head over heels. His duties falling with him.
——
Jason Todd was never the most popular prince in the kingdom. He had a bad temper that often got him in trouble. Every day his responsibilities slip further from his grasp, but he can’t seem to care as he is quite enamored with the royal blacksmith. His newest priority is keeping their relationship a secret from the kingdom, but he finds its becoming incredibly hard to hide his feelings much longer.

Chivalry || A Medieval AU Chapter 2
Tumblr media
Dick Grayson x OC (Bella Nyx)
Jason Todd x OC (Jackie Arcelia)
Chivalry Masterlist
Here it is! After far too long! Sorry it took thing along, but I just finished two weeks of shows and tech weeks and I graduate next week so I’ve been a bit busy. But here’s the next chapter. In the future they will be longer, but I’m currently just setting up the story. Also Arthur makes an appearance. So here it is!
(I had to delete the original because it stopped showing up in the search so I’m hoping this fixes it)
—————
Daybreak arrived slowly for Bella. She sat in a single cell, where the air was stuffy and the dirt beneath her cling to her skin. There was a bale of hay in the corner that acted as a makeshift bed, but Bella didn’t bother to use it. She spent the night searching for any way to get out of her prison, but ultimately found no escape. Now she sat on the floor, back leaning against the stone wall.
The thudding of foot steps rang through the cave. Shuffling of the night guards following soon after. A faint “Good morning Sire” was heard from further up the hall, but Bella kept her eyes to the ground as the footsteps became closer. Suddenly they stopped. Bella quickly glanced in the direction of the cell door, before quickly looking down again.
The eldest prince stood in front of her cell. His face was unreadable as he spoke, “What is a Noctis like yourself doing in Gotham?” Bella grimaced at the mention of her people leaving his filthy mouth.
“Attempting to rob you. Or are you just so stupid that you already forgot about our little tussle?”
“You can’t speak to him like that! He’s your prince!” Another voice rang out. Bella raised her head making eye contact with a ginger, about the same age as the prince.
She scoffed, “He’s no prince of mine.”
The ginger opened his mouth to say more, but was cut off, “Wally, you aren’t helping.” The man muttered a quick ‘sorry’ before the prince spoke again. “The king exiled your people from Gotham. What are you doing with in its borders?”
“Having a party.”
Dick groaned, a hand running through his hair, “You do realize I have the power to kill you correct?”
“And do you realize I don’t give a jacks ass?”
“Can you please just answer one simple question?! I’m trying to reduce your sentence, okay!” His hands banged against the bars on the door, making Bella flinch slightly, but she quickly regained her composure.
“I need to eat in order to live. In order to eat I need coins. I feel a lot better stealing from some stuck up princes that I do stealing for some poor villagers.” She snapped. Her eyes gave Dick a glare that almost made him step back, “Sorry if you were hoping for something more interesting”
He took a breath, “Thank you. Now I can start getting you out of here.”
“Wait… Dick what are you doing?” Wally eyed his friend and the girl. “This doesn’t seem like a great idea…”
The prince shrugged, patting his squire on the back, “Can’t blame a girl for being hungry. She is by far one of the least threatening criminals of Gotham. And we need to extra room for actual threats.”
“Oh trust me. I can be a whole lot more threatening than this.”
Taking in a deep breath, he ran a hand down his face, “You aren’t making this any easier on yourself.” He was met only with a glare, “Okay, I’ll talk to the king and hopefully you’ll be free to go.” Bella ignored him, picking at the stone floor. Dick sighed once more before making his way back down the hall.
———————-
Jason stood at the entrance to the underground tunnels, a sigh leaving his lips. “God dammit Jackie…” Lighting a torch, he descended the steps to the tunnels below the castle. Small mutterings fill the narrow passageway as he starts his hunt to find the ‘disruption’.
As Jason neared the edge of the hallway, he found himself in front of a brick wall. From behind, crashes, bangs and small curses could be heard. Jason shook his head, his hand reaching for a brick slightly off center and pushed it, revealing a hidden door. It inched open, casting a sliver of warm orange glow onto his face. He opened the door all the way, not surprised with the sight before him, “Caught you at a bad time?”
Jackie stood before him, arms piled high with various armors and weapons. By her feet was scattered armor pieces that fell from her grasp. She was stuck with a deer in headlights expression, but slowly it morphed into a forced grin, an awkward laugh leaving her lips, “Oh hey pal! Didn’t see you there?”
“Jackie what are you doing down here in the middle of the day? This place should only be used for emergencies.” Jason sighed, placing his torch in a holder on the wall.
“But it was an emergency!” She held up her hands in defense, causing all the metal to crash to the ground. She winced letting out a small sorry. She met Jason’s expectant stare with pouty lips
Jason sighed, now looking at the cluttered stone floor, “Well what was so important?”
“I had to hide all the new stuff I made you or Damian would have taken it!”
His stern expression shattered into a series of laughs, “You’re going to be the death of me,” Jason walked forward engulfing Jackie in his arms. She pouted her lip jutting out.
“This is no laughing matter Jason! This is serious business buddy!”
“Oh my apologies love. Didn’t mean to offend you. Now come on. We better get out of her before we get caught.” Pressing a light kiss to her temple, he took her hand leading her around the discarded metal. He froze when he saw a figure standing at the door.
“Um… Good Day Sire?”
In the doorway was Arthur Goodwin, a well trusted knight. He had a tight smile, eyes swimming with nerves. He was clutching a necklace in his fist, which dropped when he hurriedly bowed before the prince. He dove to pick it up almost immediately.
Their intertwined hands dropped as the two jumped away from each other. Jackie stumbled over a chest plate, causing her to tumble to the floor. She shot up a second later, her hands flailing around her. Collecting herself, she put on a questionable smirk and leaned against the wall, “Oh hey Arthur… You come here often?” The sound of Jason’s hand slapping against his face echoed across the awkward silence.
Standing up, Arthur began to sputter out an excuse, but none of his words formed an actual sentence. Jason raised his hand hand, causing his blubbering to stop, “Arthur. What are you doing down here?”
“I was just on my way to the vaults I swear! But I heard voices so I came to investigate and that’s when I noticed the opening where a wall use to be. Then I saw… you guys?” He looked in between the two, his eyebrows raised, “Are you… courting?”
Jason grasps onto Arthur’s collar bringing him closer. Jason was only a few inches taller than the knight, but he still cowered in the presence of the prince. Jason’s eyes were filled with rage as he spoke, “If you dare speak about what you saw to anyone, I won’t hesitate to strip you from your title. Do I make myself clear?” Arthur nodded his head rapidly. Jason drop his grip causing Arthur to stumble back some, “Good. Now why are you going to vaults? You should know knights aren’t allowed down there without a direct order.”
Arthur clear his throat before speaking, “I was given the order from Prince Richard, sir. My newest task is watching over a prisoner at the Prince’s request. He wanted me to take this necklace down to the vault. Apparently it is very important to her.” He held up a black chain that held a periwinkle pendant on the end. When held up to the light, specks of blue and purple filled the room.
Jackie awed at the colors spotted around and Jason couldn’t help but let a smile creep onto his lips. Shaking his head he looked back to Arthur, “Then go on. You’ve got a job to do.” Arthur nodded, turning back to the hallway, but once again, Jason’s voice stopped him, “And Arthur. I mean it. If anyone where to find out about this, she could be exiled.” he paused looking back to his girlfriend who had begin to clear up the weapons on the floor, “Or worse…”
The knight gave him a tight lipped smile, “Trust me. I’m not one to talk my Lord.” With that, he continued down the hallway, leaving Jason and Jackie alone once again.
“You know, I’ve seen him sneaking around with Malvin occasionally. Think that’s what he means?”
Jason’s shook his head, pressing a kiss to her lips, “That is none of our business, love. Now let’s go. Before you get in even more trouble.”
She smirked before slapping his thigh. She took off down the hallway yelling, “Race ya Sir Chausses!!”
Laughing, he took off after her, “Hey! Not fair!”

Chivalry || A Medieval AU Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Dick Grayson x OC (Bella Nyx)
Jason Todd x OC (Jackie Arcelia)
Chivalry Masterlist
Here it is! The first chapter of my Medieval AU. I have no clue how many chapters this will be! But it’s gonna be long! I hope you enjoy
—————————
Three princes rode on horseback through the forests of Gotham, carrying around the the wild game that had been caught throughout the day. The three had fallen into quiet banter.
“I just don’t understand why Jackie makes you the best weapons? What makes you so special?”
Jason smirked to himself, not glancing at his brother has his horse strode past him, “Guess I’m just irresistible Timbo.”
Before their bickering could continue, Dick cut in, “Alright you two. We can bicker about Jason’s special treatment later. For now we’ve got a job to do.” He rode in front of the two, only giving his brother’s a glance before looking back ahead.
Following behind his older brother, Jason groaned “Speaking Of special treatment, anyone wanna tell me why Hell spawn isn’t here?”
Dick chuckled, “If he found out we were hunting, we would be the ones being hunted.”
The three carried on through the forests of Gotham, collecting game as they went. When they had finished their hunt, the sun was dipping down the horizon, “Seems like a good time to head back. There have been rumors of bandits stalking the forests at night.”
“Bandits? Give me a break Tim. We’ve been training to fight since Bruce adopted us. I think we could handle a couple of outlaws”
Tim’s horse fell into pace next to his brother’s “I’m not saying I disagree with you Jason, but it would be better to avoid any unnecessary fights.”
Dick rode in the front of the group, heading back to the castle, “Relax guys. What bandit is going to stupidly attack 3 armed princes?” His laugh hung in the air, then the world fell back into silence. The clop of horse hooves mixed with rustling leaves and chirp of crickets. The summer breeze swirled around them creating a mask of serenity.
A knife swam through the air, shattering the scene. Dick’s saddle strap was sliced, causing his horse to buck. His body slammed to the forest floor, a groan escaping his lips. Jason and Tim drew their swords, surveying the area around them. Dick rose from the ground, drawing his sword as well, “Who’s here?”
A figure cloaked in black dropped down from a tree in front of him. They had a hood and mask covering their face. The only thing not shrouded in darkness was their violet eyes. Jason almost laughed at the figures small stature, but an elbow to the ribs from Dick made him focus back in. The men stood in defense, their weapons raised. The stalemate was broken when Tim stepped forward. Before they could blink, two knives plunged into Tim’s pant legs, pinning them to the ground. Jason and Dick surrounded the intruder, circling around them. The bandit glanced around themselves, searching for a easy exit. The two princes were closing in, leaving only a few strategies. They turned just in time to see Dick lunge at them. Quickly she slid underneath his legs, the knife she held close slicing his change pouch off his belt.
“Hey! Don’t you know it’s not nice to steal?” The only response to Dick’s quip was a quick kick to the gut, making him slide back a few inches.
Jason rushes forward. Raising his sword, he swung it through the air, aiming to deal a blow on their shoulder. To his surprise he was met with two daggers holding his weapon in place. In his moment of confusion the bandit had twisted it out of his hands. “Aw c’mon! Jackie just made that! I suggest you give that back”
Now wielding the sword, the bandit stepped forward. They held the point of the sword under Jason’s chin, “And I suggest you stay put. One more step, from any of you, and I lodge this sword into his throat.”
Tim was still stuck to the ground,“Wait. You’re a girl?!”
“If that’s a problem I can kill you first,” She kept her eyes trained on Jason, but her tone caused Tim to flinch.
“Nope. That’s fine. I’m fine.”
Dick, eyes staring into the eyes of the bandit, spoke, “Alright, what do you want from us?”
“All the gold coins you carry with you. And three pheasants from your hunt.”
“Okay. Just let me get it. And we can all be on our way alright?” His eyes darted to the daggers by Tim. Slowly he inches closer to the saddle bags by Tim, cautiously watching the bandit. When he was close enough he snatched the two daggers, freeing his brother. Before the bandit could react, Dick flung one after the other. One sliced the top of her hand. Hissing, the sword fell from her grasp. Jason, now free, twisted her arm behind her back restraining her, “That was a nice try. Maybe next time don’t rob three princes all on your own.”
She struggled, but his grip wouldn’t loosen. Dick removed both her hood and mask. Purple hair flowed out of her cloak, her lips in a tight line. He froze, like he entered a trance. Jason rolled his eyes, pushing the girl forward, “Now is not the time for a staining contest. Tim, get the rope and held me bind her hands.”
Once her hands were tied, Jason let her go. She smirked to herself before rolling forward, grasping her knife in between her fingers. Expecting her to escape, the three closed in on her. Instead using all her strength with her two arms tied together, she flung the knife into a tree, in the direction of Gotham.
“You really don’t know when to quit.” Jason mounted his horse, Tim did the same, “C’mon Dickie. Time to go retrieve your lost steed. Until then, your in charge of watching the thief.”
He nodded pushing her forward, in the direction of Gotham.
—————————
When the group had reached Gotham, the girl was immediately thrown into a cell. She would be awaiting a trial.
Under the cover of darkness, Jason slipped out of the castle. Avoiding the castle watch, he approached a shack not to far from the castle. Taking one more glance over the area, he quickly stepped through the door.
His eyes scanned the room, his gaze landing on his favorite blacksmith. Her back was to him, leaning over a table with a sword and rag in hand. Smiling he snuck up behind her. His arms wound their way across her waist. Squeezing her close, he spoke, “Surprised to see your still up.”
Her head quickly snapped in his direction, her hair hitting him in the process. She gasped, eyes lighting up, “Ah yes! Sir Chausses has arrived!” She turned in his arms, her arms latching around his neck, “You’re normally not this late. How dare you make me wait!”
“Before I answer that, care to explain what you just called me?”
“Sir Chausses, means from legs, and you my dear prince, have quite a lot of leg!” Her hand slapped against his thigh, a large grin spreading across her features.
She shook his head, pressing his lips to her temple. “You my love, are going to be the death of me.”
“Now where were you? Your normally here by sundown.”
“Sorry. We ran into a bandit on our way back. Nothing I couldn’t handle of course, but she did cause quite the delay,” Jason laughed. He smoothed down her hair, only for it to pop back into place.
“Oh well what can you do!” Kissing his cheek she suddenly jump, a squeal escaping her lips, “How was the sword? Did you like it?!”
Chuckling he nodded, “So did everyone else. Tim’s getting jealous. He might just start getting suspicious if you keep making me the best of the best,”
“Well my man deserve the best of the best! But I suppose I can thrown your brother a bone.”
Looking over her shoulder he spoke, “What are you working on? You don’t normally work this late.”
“Prince Damian, the delightful hufty-tufty, claimed his swords were too dull, and ever politely demanded I sharpened them all.”
Jason sighed and intertwined their hands together, “I’m sorry Jackie. I’ll talk to him about it tomorrow.”
“Hey it’s alright! It’s kinda my job silly! And I love my job!”
Raising her hands, he pressed two kisses to her knuckles, “But he doesn’t have the right to treat you like that.”
She smiled and let go of his hands turning back to her working table, “Technically, he does. He’s kinda the heir to the throne. He may be a pain in the ass, but he’s a royal pain in the ass. Meaning I have to do what he says.” She picked up the rag, and continued to polish the sword.
“One day I’m gonna knock that kid’s teeth in.”
“Well when that day comes I’d like a front row seat!”
“I think that can be arranged,” He wrapped his arms around her once again. The two enjoying each other’s presence until the sun started to rise over the kingdom.

Strangers : Prologue
There was supposed to be more for this chapter, but it didn’t feel right to continue it so here it is! You’ll be introduced to a new character I haven’t talked about yet! I’ve got a two hour flight ahead of me so I’m hoping to get some work done on the next chapter.
Wanna learn more about my OCs? Check out my masterlist on my account!
This will eventually turn into a Dick Grayson x OC
WC: 1064
Important: In order to fully understand this series, I would highly recommend at least skimming through my Bella’s Past series. It will be crucial to the plot.
——————————
“C’mon Bells. Don’t let this get you down the dumps! You’ll be back in no time!”
“I’m not ‘down in the dumps’ Jackie. I’m pissed.” Bella was glued in front of a punching bag, her fist colliding with it every couple of seconds.
Arthur gripped her shoulder, tearing her away from her current interest, “Bella I know this is upsetting, but there is nothing we can do-”
“Nothing you can do?” Her tone was lowered, eyes narrowed, “You could’ve said this was unfair! Everyone on that goddamn team has messed up on multiple occasions and they get away scotch free! But when I mess up one mission I get the bench!” Her fingers wound themselves in Arthur’s shirt, pulling him closer, “Give me one reason I shouldn’t be upset Golden Boy.” Arthur’s mouth opened, but his voice didn’t reach air. Her fingers uncurled, pushing him back, “That’s what I thought.” She tore off the bandages covering her knuckles, tossing them into Arthur’s face. Her feets thudded against the floor of the Underground, towards her bedroom. She disappeared into it, the door slamming.
“And where do you think you’re going?”
“Charlie’s. He needs help rehearsing for his audition,” She reemerged, a blonde wig adorning her head, “I’m not wanted here, so I might as well actually help someone. Even though it seems like I can’t help anyone. Might as well try.” She had a sardonic smile plastered on her face. SHe grabbed her bag, heading to the ladder entrance.
Arthur sighed, calling out, “Just be careful. Please.”
From above he could hear, “Oh funny. I was under the impression I couldn’t be careful.”
--------------------------
She lied. Charlie wasn’t even Chicago this weekend, but she just needed to get away. She was only two days into this suspension and it was already driving her mad. She didn’t understand how an accident could be so looked down upon. It wasn’t even her fault. For whatever reason she never revealed the signal to continue. So she waited like she was told, but apparently she couldn’t do anything right. Robin was the one to suggest she’d take a ‘break’ until she could ‘learn how to work properly with a team’. Bella was mainly angry with him. She figured he had an inability to place blame on himself for the missions he lead.
She continued down the sidewalk, her bag tossed carelessly over her shoulder. A grimace was worn over her face, causing anyone who looked at her to flinch back. She packed her knitting needles, but she doubted she’d actually use them. The sun was starting to dip back down into the horizon, turning the november air colder. She didn’t really know where was she was going, but she couldn’t bring herself to care.
She began to wander towards the outskirt of the city, occasionally taking a bus, but normally by foot. Somewhere in the mix she lost track of time. A ringing in her pocket made her take in her surroundings. A sliver of silver was high in the sky, casting a low glow in the darkness. She was by a highway. The rumbling of cars gave that away, but she couldn’t see it due to an abundance of trees standing around her. Focusing back on the ringing, she pulled out her phone and looked at the caller ID. It was Missy.
“Skíta...”
“You don’t have to answer it you know.”
Bella’s senses turned on, her body on high alert. She turned slowly, eyes scanning the area. She called out, “Who’s there? I’m armed.”
“Yeah, cause a bag with two knitting needles sticking out of it screams ‘intimidating’” A boyish chuckle rang through the air, replacing Bella’s ringtone.
“Show yourself. I’m not a person you want to mess with.”
“If you say so short stack!” A thump landed behind her, causing Bella to whip around. She came face to face with a young boy in a relaxed position. “Hiya!” Immediately she gripped a needle and launched it at the boy. He barely dodged it, tumbling to the floor, “Good god! You weren’t kidding!” He made a move, Bella’s voice halted him.
“I’d stay there if I were you.” When he made no further advancement she spoke again, “Who are you?”
“Lucas,” He held his hands behind his head, eyes darting to meet hers, “And you’re Isabella Nyx right?”
She reacted quickly, a hand clawing into his collar yanking him closer, “I’ll ask again. Who the hell are you?” Her grey contacts bore into Lucas’s frightened hazel eyes, “Your next few words better be convincing.”
He raised his hands in surrender, “Okay Okay! My name is Lucas Doyle and I’m a escapee from WIlton’s Evolution Labs!” Hearing this, her grip loosened and she stumbled back a couple of steps. He continued “I’ve been looking for you since I broke out.”
“Why. Why me? What do you know?”
“Not a lot really… A fellow project helped plan my escape and he told me to find you.”
Her eyes widened, her hands once again tugging him closer, “Who? What was his name? Do you know anything about him?”
Lucas shook his head, “No… I was never actually able to see him, but he was in the cell next to mine. There was a small hole in the corner and we were able to sneak notes to each other.” Bella’s posture deflated and she let him go, “But I did hear the scientists call him K06 if that helps.”
She shook her head, opening her mouth to speak, but her ringtone cut her off. She grimaced, sliding open her phone, she held it up to her ear, “Hello?”
Lucas watched as she flinched at the voice on the other side. Even he could hear multitudes of voices all screaming at Bella. She took in a deep breath. Running her fingers through her hair, she spoke, “Yes I’m fine… Just lost track of time… Whatever. I’ll be home soon.” Not giving the others a chance to reply, she hung up, throwing her phone back into her bag. Turning back to Lucas she pointed a finger to his chest, “You are going to meet me here tomorrow. Midnight. Don’t be late.” And with that che turned around, walking back the way she came.
“Wait… You’re just going to leave me here?!”
“Yeah. That’s the plan.” She disappeared into the shadows around her, leaving Lucas stunned.

Fate || A Dick Grayson Soulmate AU
So the plan was to write the first chapter for my new series, but I got writers block so instead this little number was born! I hope you enjoy
Paring: Dick Grayson x OC (Bella Nyx)
Word Count: 2261
Soulmate AU: There is a a black mark on your body where you will first come into contact with your soulmate. Once you touch it becomes the color of your soulmate’s eyes.
Want to learn more about Bella? Look up the tag Bella on my account and you’ll find other stories about her.
——————————
The topic of soulmates has always sparked something inside of Bella. She watched as people passed by, holding to someone, bodies pressed closely together. Some would describe the soulmate system as a blessing. Bella viewed it as a curse. She stared down at the black smudge plastered on her right foot. As she grew, her hatred for the mark did too. She couldn’t have a soulmate. She didn’t need one.
Letting out a huff, she pulled her sock back over her foot followed by her last boot. She tied the laces before standing up. She stood in front of a window, covered in grime much like the city itself. Out of all the places she’s ventured too, Gotham had to be the worst. It seemed to have a cloud of dread looming over it all time. Something she could relate too.
The fleeting rain storm made the city feel colder than it should. The November wind whipped against her skin, not helping the shivers that ran up her spine. Her mask was pulled over her mouth giving the lower half of her face a sense of warmth despite the damp fabric. The skyscrapers above her made her placement on the apartment building roof feel minuscule. With bated breath she jump from the building. Shadows formed around her, covering her small form. The next instant she was gone, reappearing on a different roof. A block away from the last.
She continued this, retreating deeper into the city. She landed on her next roof. It was higher than the rest of the buildings around her, but didn’t even come close to most of the buildings painting the skyline. She reached into her jacket’s inside pocket and pulled out a worn leather notebook. She flipped open to a page and began scribbling down words, but a voice stopped her.
“You know, you sure make it hard for a guy to follow you.”
She reacted quickly. She unsheathed a knife and swung around, the knife flying towards the figure behind her. He caught it mid-air.
“Nice reflexes I see. You want to see who has a faster reaction time?” He had a smirk painted across his face. His eyes were hidden behind a domino mask, but Bella could imagine they were bright with mirth.
Her eyes remained trained on the figure, fingers stretching to grab the next knife in her holster. The man shrugged, “The silent type huh? Way to suck all the fun out of it.” He lunges at her, quick and swiftly. Bella almost didn’t see it coming, but was able to phase through his attack last second, causing the man to stumble towards the edge of the roof, “I stand corrected.” Reaching for his right thigh he retrieved two sticks. The glowed blue in the moonlight as he took a defensive stance, “Care to tell me what a meta human like you is doing snooping around Gotham?”
Her eyes narrowed. Gripping her knife she spoke lowly, a light tone of annoyance laced in it, “I’m not a meta…”
“Oh she speaks!” His smirk grew wider. He was closer now enabling her to spot a black smudge underneath the left side of neck, close to his chin. A tan substance laid over top of it, making it less noticeable. Almost like he had applied makeup to cover up his soul mark. “Now sweetheart, I kinda got a city to protect so if we can end this quickly that would be preferable.”
She grimaced. Part of her wanted to to flee, stay away from trouble, but her mind yelled at her to stay. The man, who she finally recognized as Nightwing, stood in front of her journal. She couldn’t leave without it. Her attack was rushed, sloppy almost. She fired two knives at once, hoping they’d lodge into his shoulder. He dodge them with a flip, kicking the journal with him.
“Something important in there?” Nightwing’s tone dripped with a teasing tone. It only infuriated Bella more
He didn’t get answer. Instead he watched as she disappeared. He was caught off guard seeing as his opponent vanished into thin air. His stance dropped slightly, mouth agape. Bella smirked to herself. Taking advantage of this window of opportunity she lifted her right foot and landed a hooked kick to Nightwing’s jaw.
She smirked as she appeared once again in front of the man who was clutching his jaw. Her victory was short lived as she soon felt a burning sensation shoot through her foot. She fell to the ground, hissing in pain as she ripped off her boot hoping to find the culprit. She gasped when she made contact with her soulmate mark. What was once a black smudge had turned into a glowing blue stain.
Her head whipped to Nightwing who was in a similar state to her. His hands had smeared off the makeup covering his jaw, revealing a deep purple mark. He was looking into a puddle staring at this new development. His face read confusion, but slowly a grin started to spread across his features. “You… You’re..” His words caught in his throat as turned to face Bella, expecting a similar reaction, but instead he was met with terror filled eyes.
He reached out to her, but she scrambled to stand up. Running to the edge of the building she flung herself off the edge. “Wait! Come back!” He followed to the edge only to be greeted with the last of the shadows surrounding her retreating form. He was left staring into the streets of Gotham below. The only thing left of his soulmate was a shoe, a sock, and a beaten up leather journal.
————————
It had been two days since the incident on the roof. Bella had planned on leaving Gotham, but a lack of journal kept her in her place. Instead she opted for pacing around an abandoned building in East End. She hadn’t left in fear of being once again caught by Nightwing. Not only was she running low on food, but she needed to move cities, but she couldn’t without her research, and it seems the only way to regain possession of her property would be to face her soulmate again, but Bella couldn’t bring herself to find him.
While Bella avoided him, pacing around a decrepit building, Dick spent his time scouring the city looking for his missing soulmate. He scanned every surveillance footage he was able to get his hands on, but still came up with nothing.
“I don’t get it, Tim. Why would she run from me?”
“Well, from what I hear it didn’t sound like you made a great first impression.” Tim sat at the batcomputer looking through security footage at his older brother’s request. Dick sighed running his fingers through his hair, “Did you get what she looked like?”
“Purple hair and eyes. Impossible to miss. Do you think she left the city?”
“Well judging from what’s in that journal I’d say no. It seems pretty important. What about her face? Any noticeable features that could help narrow down the search?”
Dick took in a deep breath through his nose, blowing it out before replying, “No she wore a mask that covered the majority of her face.” He ran a hand over his face before a thought came to mind, “She was short. Like extremely short. I was almost a foot taller than her!”
Tim nodded as he continued examining the footage. After a few minutes he stopped the video and zoomed in on a hooded figure entering a building, “There. Now it’s not 100% certain, but you can see a bit of purple hair peeking out of the hood. She also seems short enough to match your description. She was last seen in East End, closer to The Bowery.”
Dick release a breath of relief before ruffling his hair, “Thanks Timmy!” And with that Dick was off, clad in his Nightwing gear.

Bella stood in front of the window, the rain beating against the pane. She fidgeted with her mask, which hung around her neck. She debated leaving, to go look for her lost property, but she still hesitated.
“Someone looks conflicted,”
Her eyes grew wide as her head quickly snapped in the direction of the new voice. Her soulmate leaned against the door frame, a gentle smile gracing his features. His breath hitched when their eyes met. He took in the curves of her face, slowly getting lost. He regained his composure when a knife was lodged into the wall right by his ear. He stood straighter his hands out in front of him, “I don’t want to fight. I just came here to talk,” He took a step forward, which Bella countered with one back.
He froze under her glare. Taking a gulp he spoke again, “Please?” His fingers inched towards his mask, hoping to not to startle her into another attack. Slowly the edges of his mask were peeled from his face and dropped to the floor. “Just give me a few minutes then I’ll be out of your hair.”
Bella’s gaze faltered when met with his blue eyes. She nodded, dropping her defensive stance.
A smile pulled at his lips. Testing his luck he took a step forward. When she flinched back, Dick stopped in his tracks, not wanting to scare her, “So, you’re my soulmate?”
She nodded, eyes meeting the ground instead of the man in front of her.
Sensing he wasn’t making any progress he held out his hand to her, flashing her a shimmering smile, “Well Soulmate. I’m Dick Grayson. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Her eyes met his which soon fell to his soul mark, then his hand, and finally reglued themselves back to the floor. “You should leave.”
His stance faltered, “I… What?”
“You need to leave. I’m not supposed to have a soulmate.”
“Now that’s just nonsense. Everyone is supposed to have a soulmate. It’s fated!” He took another step towards her. This time she didn’t shy away. Instead her shoulder squared as she stared straight into his eyes.
“Fate’s a bitch. And often wrong.”
When he made his next advancement, she joined him, soon coming chest to chest. At this point they were both glaring, gaze sharp enough to kill.
He took a breath, his eyes turning soft, “You’re running from something. Let me help you.”
She scoffed, “I understand that you think your some big hero that always saves the day! But face it pal. You can’t save everyone. Especially not me.”
His hand clenched around her small shoulder, the other arm coming around to wrap around her waist, “If I can’t save my own soulmate I shouldn’t be a hero at all!”
“Great idea! Why don’t you hang up your cape today-”
He kissed her. Arms tightening their hold on her, attempting to keep her grounded. Bella’s fists clenched to his suit, her toes pushing herself closer to him. Dick smiled, creating a small gap between them. Their foreheads were pressed together, eyes closed. His nose rub against hers making Bella fight back a small smile.
“You really are a moron.”
A chuckle bubbles from his lips, his breath fanning over her, “I should probably be offended, but I’m just relieved you didn’t call me a dick.”
“The thought did occur, but I figure it was it was too easy.”
“So you have standards.” He smiled, eyes remaining shut. His hand traveled down her side to clasped behind her back, meeting his other, “Well what do you say Soulmate? Trust me with your secret identity?”
She bit back a laugh. One eye peaked open, “Don’t guys normally learn a girls name first before kissing her?” Her hands interlocked behind his neck successfully pulling him closer to her height.
“I was caught up in the moment! Can’t blame a guy for being dramatic,” Their eyes met and he felt his grin grow wider. His blues eyes twinkled with mischief has he pulled her closer, his grin morphing into a smirk, “And I’ll do it again if it convinces you to tell me your name.”
“Tempting… Though I think I’ll pass bird boy.” She broke away from him, a hand trailed down his side, lingering at his hip. She smirked and pulled her journal out of his pocket, “In return for this, I guess I can give you my name.” She rolled her eyes at his shocked face and held out her hand like he did before, “Bella Nyx.”
He grinned taking her hand. He placed a light kiss to her knuckles before tugging her closer. He spoke softly into her ear, “Pleasure to meet you Bella. Now what’s the chance you’d tell me what that journal’s all about?”
“Wow, are you this charming with all the ladies? Or am I just special?” She voice was laced with sarcasm as she rolled her eyes
“Just you gorgeous. Now back to my question,” He bent down to where his nose was able to reach the crook of her shoulder and nuzzles in.
“Now now bird brain. You haven’t gotten that far yet. Keep prying into my night life and I may just leave after all.”
His head rose, making eye contact with his soulmate once again, “What I’m hearing is that you’re staying? So that means I can take you to dinner tonight?”
Bella’s lip turned into a small smile as her fingers brushed over the purple mark on his jaw, “It seems so Dick. It seems so.”
This time, she was the one to kiss him.
