Opens Friday, May 10, 6-8p: “PRISM/LIVIN/ROOM”  Amanda Browder Allegra LaViola Gallery, 179 East Broadway, NYC Known for her large-scale outdoor fabric installations (“Hello Niagra,” Brooklyn, 2012 pictured, photo by David B. Smith), Browder will present an indoor gallery installation that breeches the public/private conversation by creating a physical duality between a living room and a fabric art installation. Though apparent opposites, these two environments are connected by the presentation of contemporary art. She plans to hold two Public Sewing Days that encourage the viewer to become her collaborator. Later this year, in September, Browder plans to wrap a building on East 4th Street in Manhattan with fabric [via Animal New York]
