Yes, that is exactly what will happen. I can’t decide though if it’s bc he doesn’t care, or to spite the probably strict fashion rules he grew up with, and the dress code he had to follow in the lab.

Probably both, and the result is respectfully, a total disaster XD

I doubt Henry would have a comfort object. However, if El gets one in one way or another, Henry will be really protective of it, sometimes even more than El herself.

I’m thinking either the first sweater they buy after leaving the lab bc she got cold, or a stuffed animal they stole from a store that gives her warmth TOO and especially Henry struggled to show to her. Not that they don’t, just a bit difficult after the lab.

I don’t think I’ve ever considered the fact that being practically locked in the facility for about 25 years, Henry wouldn’t know a shit and a half about all the new fashion and technology.

Just imagine this man, who hasn’t seen the sun in over two decades, coming out of the facility with the other two and suddenly people are wearing jeans, t-shirts, have mullets and listen to music out of tiny boxes they can keep in their pocket. Very far from the American dream-sickened 1940’s-1950 he grew up in.

He’d need time to get used to this relative freedom of expression, especially for the time.

If they ever have to visit a hospital, even for the simplest injury (maybe Eleven broke her arm) it will be a very hard experience for all three.

Caretakers with two piece uniforms of the same color, some white and some in blue. Doctors, people including children in gowns and industrial looking pajamas, white or at least very simplistic and cold labyrinthian corridors, and a cold uninviting aura of sickness.

Henry has already shown to not always be the best at repressing emotions or hiding. So having his partner holding his hand, his other with a hard grip on El’s, and a good bunch of deep breaths, will be vital so none of the three have major flashbacks or experience breakdowns of any sort.

And if they do, they’ve got someone to keep them grounded and feel safe, knowing it will be okay and they’ll be out before they know it.
