One Of My Favorite Quotes
This quote from the book 'The kite runner' is stuck in my mind since the day I've read it.
Whenever I feel like I can get away with something by telling a simple lie, there is this voice in my head “ There is only one sin and that is theft, when you tell a lie you steal someone's right to truth.” And I end up feeling bad about myself and quit the idea of lying.
The full quote is “ there is only one sin, only one. And that is theft. Every other sin is a variation of theft. When you kill a man, you steal a life... you steal his wife's right to a husband, rob his children of a father. When you tell a lie, you steal someone's right to the truth. When you cheat, you steal the right to fairness... there is no act more wretched than stealing.”
There is not a day I don't think about this quote, it has changed my perception.
