Returning to prompt! In that case, It can go multiple ways:

Catquest finds reader on his own;

thraggs reader passes catquest to them;

or catquest never did fight with Mark

1) catquest finds his reader on his own/during THE fight

Imagine you live near the place where fight was going on. The horrors of seeing people dying, buildings crumbling, basically your whole life dying right in front of you. Obviously, evacuating seems reasonable. Until you see something you didn't expect. Fight ends. Or pauses. You find courage(or stupidity) to look closer at the fight.

Young man is lying on the ground, with random cat standing over him silently. Staring at the floor. (The monologue) Coming closer is a bad idea, BUT... This young man and his cat seem to be hurt. Man looks genuinely traumatized when he sees you, and cat stares at you. The guy in magical girl clothes (self sewed, no magical transportation for Mark) reaches to you before cat moves marks hand down.

Cat appears floating right in front, do you, probably slightly higher than your eye level. Just staring. Thinking. Calculating. Before looking back at Mark. "Is that your way of granting [my] wishes, worm? I'll accept it." Some weird rock appears in front of you. It shines brightly before turning black instantly. Portal appears, and you're shoved inside. You hear Mark screaming behind you and see weird cat flying along with you.

To outside world that incubator kidnapped a random civilian, to you -... Um... Can you imagine incubator turning into a witch? Well, obviously no that's not how it works. But that's what gonna happen in this post.

You're stuck in what you assume, parallel dimension, with cat who took human form in a place you can only describe as weird art project where there is no ground but only space. Happy honeymoon with one of the scariest incubators. This guy will not let you leave.

Imagine every story where Conquest steals the reader n keeps them for himself - that's what happens. Beautiful house, deaths of millions, and/or happy life in a "witch" dimension Mark accidentally created by making a soulgem for Conquest. Doesn't care if you enjoy carnage as much as he does - you'll learn to love it if you know what's best for you. Technically still part of the empire but ultimately betrays it for you. You WILL be wearing his skin. That's the only thing you're allowed to wear now. Actually, it's pretty warm, so it's not that much of a downgrade.

This reader would meet random magical girl(thraggs reader) after a while of living together with Conquest who's pretty used to human form. Said magical girl won't kill Conquest but will be returning with report to Cecil about the kidnapped person n their whereabouts. But eventually will visit from time to time to check up on YOU. They're not saving ur ass tho, sorry.

2)thraggs reader passes catquest to you

Good lord imagine meeting some guy with a cat on their shoulder and another in their arms that just says "he likes you. You can have him. Hes a bitey one and gonna suggest deals, dont let him do either." Before promptly turning into a magical girl and leaving.

Now you have cat in your arms who's purring loudly, pawing at your face with claws and so many unanswered questions. What is that thing? Why is it talking in your head? Why does he know your name? Why did you just saw someone turn into a magical girl in the middle of the day after giving you a cat??

Until like an hour or 15 minutes later, same guy finds you again. They put hand on your shoulder and genuinely wheeze from wherether exercise they've done. They apologize for leaving you without explanation, introduce themselves and the cats. Great, you're hallucinating a crazy person.

They quickly go through some kind of mental gymnastics trying to determine how much YOU know before sighing and rubbing their forehead. They say you're now responsible for this weird thing, and that you need to buy so much medkit and be as patient as possible. Cattrumites test it(patience) every moment of the day, be patient and have willpower of gods. Some other wishes.

If you say you don't want a cat, the guy will just shrug and say well cat chose you. And leave you alone. Youll see them occasionally every few days in your peripheral but theyll never come too close. If you try to throw the cat away or give him to anyone else, people will think you're crazy bc there is no cat to give up. Catquest WILL break into your house afterwards like nothing happened n its just a game.

If you accept him right away, they'll brighten up bc it's nice that there's still people who like incubators! They'll suggest meeting up occasionally bc finding good people is hard, n YOU seem like a real great person! Anyway, there's selkie fur on your bed and naked grandpa waiting for you.

Wherether you agree to become a magical girl or not depends if catquest still wants to consider himself part of the empire. Bc on one hand, he needs your emotions to save his clan - on another, he couldn't care less for that clan. Also, his leader already clearly cares less about empire than him, so he might as well just enjoy eternity in retirement(concept he learned recently).

3)no fight with mark/finding him before the fight

Let's imagine a world where the abandoned incubator is found in your trashcan behind your house. You don't even realize he is some weird space cat yet until you rescue him. All things considered, he allows it for the purpose of finding Mark to kill him. Half cattrumites are, as empire knows now, defects that have feelings.

Nvm food here is great, Mark can wait.

You took pity on a weird cat but now you're watching him eat some of spare cat food cans you have - n this mf looks weird. Where's his paw? Why does he have such long ear flap? You try to take a picture, but your phone breaks n u swear u heard that cat chuckle REALLY humanly.

You get so many scars from this encounter bc you are NOT qualified to rescue feral cats. The fact that he even went along to your house is already baffling. And then he starts talking. The cat you rescued starts talking HUMAN. In. Your. Head. Congrats, you get a wish. Or at least a suggestion for you to take it. This unimaginable anything - to become a savior of human race? (?)...

The choice is hard, but you're harder. You let the questions stew in your head for a few days. Incubator asks you to point out some Mark so you have goal you need to reach. Bc when weird space cat tells you to find another weird space cat - you do just that. Roadtrip!

Since you haven't sold your soul yet, thraggs reader wouldn't be too invested in you if you don't come across each other personally. But Thragg would visit to talk with Catquest, you just watch two cats argue at each other on your car for a while until new one leaves. Then his reader checks in with ask "whyre you looking for Mark?" No introduction, straight to the point. Cat on their shoulder is the same who argued with yours.

They point you to the needed location, but will interrupt the fight if it gets to it. Catquest might be turned on humanity's side by that point so I wouldn't worry about Mark too much. In this reality Cecil dies of heart attack.
