Sarah Recolor
This is a recolor of the Sarah dress by @peebsplays.
tumblr is stupid and won’t let me add any pictures today so here!
I think we’ve established that I love Romantic fashions, and as my save file is currently in 1826 (how the time flies! it’s been 27 years!) I’m in need of more and more appropriate clothing. I love this dress, but always felt that the combination of the low waistline and sleeve shape gave more of a later 1830s vibe. Therefore, I removed* the original waist and added a wide belt higher up. I then played around with some patterns and also added some plain swatches.
This specific style of sleeve, emphasizing narrow shoulders unlike earlier gigot sleeves, was popular from around 1832 or 1833 until around 1835 or 1836. It could definitely still work before and after these dates, but the volume was even higher up (in the shoulders) in the late 20s and early 30s, and much farther down in the latter half of the decade.

*the original waistline is still slightly visible, especially on the plain swatches and in certain lighting conditions, but it’s not terribly disruptive
A casual and quite practical dress that could work for a variety of situations. I know it says Regency, but like many Regency-style dresses it can be used as a nice and timeless nightgown.
I would like to offer a special thanks to CAStools for fixing SO MANY of the issues i had with this mesh. i am giving it and its mesh-fixing tools a little kissy

50 new swatches inspired by late 1870s fashion. Emphasis on inspired because this bitch is Not historically accurate. Still @warwickroyals's Travolta dress was so gorgeous I couldn't resist.
Quite bright colors because... aniline dyes. But there's also an all-white swatch and an all-black swatch.
As you can tell from the url change, cringeborg is currently moving. I got tired of having this blog connected to my wildly different main blog so i'm putting it on my second account. I'm not deleting this blog or any of the posts on it though! Just stay tuned, the new blog will be done in a bit
"If your dear heart is wounded, my wild heart bleeds with yours!" (Carmilla – Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu, 1872)
there are two things we see in this decade, that kind of have similar popularity at similar times – the large bustle extending outwards from the ass, and the "princess" style dress, where volume came from the hips. the princess style dress was kept closer to the body, and was almost – gasp – form fitting! how scandalous! necklines largely stayed high, at or above the collar, but when they dipped you would see them paired with velvet chokers or necklaces with a single gem pendant. both hats and bonnets were worn during this era, and the hairstyles moved from the gentle low updos of the 60s to more styled updos associated with the late victorian era.
True paradise is not in heaven but on the lips of one's beloved. (Mademoiselle de Maupin – Theóphile Gautier, 1835)
guys... i love the 1830s. i would kill to wear the 1836 dress :( so the sim modeling this decade is based loosely off of how i look! i am flying through these decades lol sorry
anyway. 1830s! you see the puffy sleeves in this era that you also associate with the 1890s, but they're much more romantic and soft in this area. as the decade goes on, the hemline falls again, and you see the skirt start to widen exponentially.
1834 deviates in this series, but that's just because i wanted to use it to honor anne lister, a.k.a 'gentleman jack', who is known often as the "first modern lesbian".
djene : cringeborg's amelia hair / elfdor june hat / makesims' revolution rosette / tzuhu's lace accessory top / vintagesimstress' 1830s ballgown / joliebean's satin tipped shoes
dmitriya : buzzardly28's anne lister hair + top hat / renorasims' lilith corset / vintagesimstress' 1890s working girl bottom (i know, i know, but it worked.) / gilded-ghosts' hartfield boots
Happy Tuesday! Today you're getting a simple 19th-century style nightshirt, an edit of @historicalsimslife's Edwardian Men's Nightgown. I've finally sort of figured out weight transfers. I did not enjoy it. But the weights are fine, so that's good.
Just the one white swatch this time. Feel free to recolor if you want!

For once I can actually say I don't think it has any real issues, at least nothing you can't see just from the previews in this post. Like all trains in this game, the train might be underground in some positions and hovering slightly above the ground in others.
I asked my friends for name suggestions and Yasha said Salami. So the hair is named Salami. No, Yasha is not a small child. Next time I'll ask my 8 month old coworker. Moving on.

NOT hat compatible
Uses parts from a GTW hair, two GF hairs, this hair and this hair
Diffuse map is a little wonky, mostly in the back (see the 360 of the dirty blonde swatch)

Appropriately tagged and all that
Known issues:
There are little gaps and weird mesh things happening inside this braid contraption. I wouldn't say it's particularly noticable or annoying.
The 1830s girls' dress has been updated, and should now no longer conflict with Felicity's Summer Dress. Thanks to @historicalfictionsims for the help!
1830s Girls' Dress and slippers
Hiya! It’s good to be back after the new year. I think I started working on this project in… November, perhaps? The problem back then was that I had no idea how to edit any kind of mesh and failed catastrophically. Now, more than one blender tutorial later, I present to you: A frankenmesh. But not just that! A frankenmesh and a pair of slippers.
The dress consists of two main meshes - sleeves from this dress (REQUIRED) by @vintagesimstress and the rest from Felicity’s summer dress (NOT REQUIRED) by @historicalfictionsims. The pantalettes were taken from Kirsten’s winter outfit, also by historicalfictionsims
2 versions - V1 has longer pantalettes and V2 has slightly shorter
44 swatches - 20 white swatches and 24 brighter swatches
The pantalettes are white in every swatch
The shoes are @zurkdesign’s Ballet Shoes for Girls, with the ribbons on the sides removed so as to avoid clipping with the pantalettes.
The slippers are BGC, but as stated the dresses require vintagesimstress’s 1895 cf dress

Hey! Do you want accessory pantalettes for children? Well, here they are! These were requested by @inlovewithregencyera.

Found in the leggings category
Come in 4 lengths - V1 is ankle-length and V4 ends a bit below the knees.
Pantalettes taken from Kirsten's Winter Outfit (though I do realize that's not where they're originally from. that's where I got em)
2 swatches - plain white and with a subtle lace texture at the bottom (which, in hindsight, isn't particularly noticeable in-game. But you can see it in CAS!)
Not all socks are compatible with the texture, but one pair I've found to generally work well are the Tea Socks from this pack
I don't recommend combining them with dresses shorter than knee-length or anything with preexisting pantalettes. It doesn't look good.
Some dresses also end up sort of... highjacking the pantalette texture.
HOWEVER, this can actually end up looking alright! While most pantalettes were white, they did sometimes match the dresses. But then again, the dresses were usually white as well.

Known issues:
They do a strange exploding thing in certain situations. I've noticed it in CAS, household portraits (the ones seen in the household manager), and the portrait in the bottom left corner in Live Mode. It doesn't seem to be an issue in gameplay though! And it only SOMETIMES occurs in cas. If it's very annoying, switching to another outfit and then back to the one you were editing should get rid of the exploding.
