FINALLY got around to dumping Spotify after their CEO continued to prove he's a fresh turd. (As if being a billionaire, not paying musicians, shoving AI garbage at us, and having an atrocious carbon footprint wasn't bad enough, he's now the chair of a AI-based weapons manufacturing company.)
I used TuneMyMusic ($24 annual fee you can cancel immediately, effectively paying only once) to transfer almost every single song from our Spotify account to Tidal. Tidal already has much better sound quality and they pay their artists much better. It migrated over 99% of our music, too, so there wasn't a huge loss.

People's reactions to my small talk post have really made it clear to me how much people think they should be able to opt out of society whenever they find parts of it boring or inconvenient.
"If someone engaged me in small talk I would just ignore them because it's pointless." Cool okay that would get many people fired.
"If someone engaged me in small talk I would just tell them that it's none of their business so I'm left alone." Wow impressive you're really showing that random stranger who asked you if you think it'll snow tomorrow.
"Why don't we ban small talk at work and school to help with efficiency?" Because we're not automatons, life is not just about efficiency, and asking your coworker how their weekend went or your classmate if they got stuck in the subway delay this morning isn't harmful or bad.
I recognize that there are people who are not capable of doing small talk or engaging at all verbally with anyone in a casual way, but some of the ways that some people have reacted feel a lot more like the "we don't owe our friends a ride to the airport or help moving" type vibe.
Community and society are built not just around our small group of extremely close friends and family but also our casual acquantainces, our coworkers, our classmates, the people with engage with professionally, the people with see at clubs or group lessons or religious meetings, the people we stand next to at bus stops.
And being autistic or ADHD or depressed or anxious or anything else doesn't mean that you get to opt out of society without consequences.
If the person sitting next to you at your knitting club asks how your day is going and you tell them to fuck off because you don't believe in small talk, you have just made this space less welcoming and safe for them, and you have cut off an avenue for yourself to meet someone. I'm willing to bet that that person will never try to talk to you again, and they'll probably tell other people what you said, and the space will become less friendly to you, all because you were unwilling to say, it's going fine, and you? or not great. I'm not great at small talk, but I'd love to learn more about what you're knitting instead or even I'm sorry, I'm having a long week and just need a little quiet right now.

still thinking about that r/hypotheticalsituation post where someone was like "what if a potato chip spawned somewhere randomly in the world. and every hour the number of potato chips at that location would double. and the only way to get rid of them for good would be to eat all of the potato chips before they doubled again." and someone calculated that it would only take like, 48 hours of people ignoring a weird pile of potato chips before an absolutely irreconcilable number of potato chips was blanketing a city.
and then people were like "no wait if it spawns randomly in the world, it's highly likely it would be in an ocean" and then people were debating whether there were enough small fish swimming at the surface in the open ocean that would be able to eat a potato chip and thus save humanity from the potato chip apocalypse.

I've been thinking a lot about how Martin mantled Akatosh, the eldest of the gods, the one who literally brings life to the planet through sunlight and growth to everything on it through time, who is the source of empires and control, whose existence brought the concept of law into the world. And he did it in a single moment of desperate necessity, giving up everything and leaving the mortal realm forever for just a few seconds with the power needed to save it.
And then I think about how the Hero of Kvatch mantled Sheogorath, the (arguably) youngest of the gods, the one who was inadvertently created by the others and fills in all the spaces between them, who makes life worth living through music and color, who allows and enables the mortal mind to expand past the limits placed upon it by all the others, the only one who believes in free will and is willing to destroy anything to preserve it. And how they had chance after chance to turn back, to give up, but set their feet and held their ground and took the reins of eternity to protect a world that wasn't even theirs.
I think about how Akatosh is a reflection of Anu on the surface of Nirn, and Sheogorath is the Sithis-shaped hole in the world, and I wonder if that's why it turned out like this. If the world was meant to end in the Oblivion Crisis, and the two of them together re-anchored the pillars that support reality by mantling the two mortal-compatible aspects thereof. I wonder if they saved the world in ways they didn't even understand at the time.
I wonder if they know that they're still working together, even now, even if they'll never see each other again. I wonder if they know they're still halves of a whole, a Chosen Two who will never be remembered for what they actually did, only for what they left behind. Martin will only ever be a name he didn't know was his own, Septim, and The Hero will never be anything but their first harrowing battle, Kvatch, losing their own name forever by becoming Sheogorath.
I think about it, and I wonder. I hope they know. It seems the least of what they both deserve.

I made these as a way to compile all the geographical vocabulary that I thought was useful and interesting for writers. Some descriptors share categories, and some are simplified, but for the most part everything is in its proper place. Not all the words are as useable as others, and some might take tricky wording to pull off, but I hope these prove useful to all you writers out there!

Oh well… I was trying to capture the skyrim atmosphere in a drawing, and the nordic ruins are the quintessence of it, imo :) I just came by to say I love this game! I've spent a lot of time in it.
Yeah, it's Arvel the Swift and he's not having much luck in my playthroughs :ʼD
