howdy! i wanted to ask wrt zine submissions, are we allowed to post them on social media upon approval, or would you prefer to either not have them shared/only have sneak peeks?
You have full ownership of your work! Feel free to post it on social media however you wish. You can even submit old work and work that has been published elsewhere as long as you still have full ownership of the image/work.-Ogrefairy

would you mind explaining c-punk? this is the first ive heard of it!
The short version of cpunk, or autpunk, or neuropunk, or any sort of hyphenate-punk is using the ideological, political, and social beliefs of the punk movement and applying them to the areas of advocacy and activism.
This is very similar to how queer as an explicit identity (rather than an umbrella term) is both an identity and a political movement.
There are even strong parallels between the two movements as their origins overlapped with the punk movement become well known about a decade before the queer movement.
Punk in general is very much about social equality, radical acceptance, anti-establishment, anti-capitalism, etc. Basically, radical social justice. When applied to something like cripple punk the context is radical social within the cripple community. Queer punk, with queer already including many of the same beliefs as punk culture, expands both of those with (in my opinion) radical acceptance and social justice being the the thing that ties them together.
I do not usually say that I am queerpunk, cripplepunk, neuropunk, but if you look at my politics, my ideology, my general beliefs about how people should support and navigate society I absolutely do fit into those communities - I also do identify as part of those communities though I am not active in them here because that is not what this blog is about.

AmiaFairyPrincessYet and I accidentally wore matching outfits yesterday, for Halloween the First! Lets get spooky folks!
[Image Description: Two young white women are posing outside in front of some goldenrods and wild grasses. Both are wearing very similar bright orange shirts with jack-o-lantern faces on them. On the left is me, sitting in my wheelchair, wearing black and pink wheelchair gloves, and posing with my hands under my chin. I have my hair dyed pink and blue, with an undercut on one side that shows my natural brown hair. I’m smiling and wearing black framed glasses. I’m wearing a black choker, a jack-o-lantern sweatshirt, a black dress, black leggings, and purple shoes that match the purple frame of my chair. On the right is my friend Blythe. She is standing next to me, with a coppery metal cane with a scale pattern. She has one hand under her chin like mine, and is making a very sassy face. She has bright orange hair, wire framed glasses, and is wearing black lipstick. She is wearing a jack-o-lantern tank top, black and red plaid shirt, dark jeans, and brown boots.]

Feeling cute and exhausted.
. . .
id: selfie of me, white nb femme, in a changing room mirror with good af lighting. There’s one mirror ahead and also one to the side so there’s an up close and a more full length view of my great look. I’m wearing a long mustard yellow skirt, a grey scooby doo crop tank top and a grey denim vest with pins and patches. One of the visible patches says “no.” My long purple hair is down and my eyebrows are filled in to match. I’m wearing mascara and dark blue Fenty lipstick. I’m standing and have my left hand in my vest pocket. /end id

disabled members of the lgbt+ community who don’t interact with the community outside of the internet and who can’t date or go to pride events or go to gay bars and aren’t able to take part in any lgbt activism are still valid members of the lgbt+ community.

“You walk at home? Do you even need your wheelchair?”
Yes, because walking in my own house is different than walking class to class at school. I don’t carry a heavy backpack at home. I’m not on a tight schedule at home. I can sit on the ground at home. I can ask my parents or siblings to help me at home. I can crawl on my hands and knees at home. I can lie in the middle of the hallway at home. I can sit on counters and tables at home. I can bear a lot of pain at home. I can show that pain at home. I can collapse in the middle of crawling up the staircase at home.
Don’t tell me or anyone else where or when they need to use their mobility device

When you are visibly disabled you are a spectacle and dressing how you want is taking back ownership of that spectacle

CRIPPLE PUNK ZINE (+submission rules)
Reminder that we’re starting a zine called Cripple Punk Presents!
Our goal is to continue spreading radical disability acceptance to as many people as we can. We want to help raise disabled people’s self worth and self esteem, support disabled content creators, and create more spaces for disabled people to unapologetically be themselves. Every single disabled person deserves to feel empowered!
We are currently accepting submissions for the first issue, which will answer the question, “What is Cripple Punk?” and what cripple punk means to different people. The first issue should cover topics central to the cripple punk movement, like fighting ableism, embracing diversity, becoming empowered, and rejecting the roles mainstream society expects you to fit into.
Examples of what we’re looking for include:
Any drawings, poetry, essays, comics, photography, etc. done by disabled people; specifically pieces that relate to the theme and the topics mentioned above.
Submissions reflecting what Cripple Punk means to you and the effect it’s had on your life or the lives of other disabled people
Perspectives on disabled experiences specific to your gender, race, sexual orientation, etc. that you’d like to share
Artwork reflecting your emotions or ideas about any of the aforementioned topics; a drawing representing your journey as a disabled person, perhaps, or a painting that reminds you that you have value
Pieces that give advice or share experiences regarding ableism. Maybe you’ve had a lot of practice at shutting down strangers unwanted opinions, or maybe you try to live your life as a pointed rejection of the “good cripple mythos.” Perhaps you have a lot of thoughts about exactly why the capitalistic notion of “productivity = value” is messed up. Anything like this!
Photography! Disabled bodies and disabled experiences are valuable even if they’re not aesthetically pleasing, but sometimes they are aesthetically pleasing, and we’d like to explore that. If you like to take pictures showing off your mobility aids, fat, stretch marks, scars, IVs, etc. in a way that makes you feel empowered, feel free to send them to us!
Personal thoughts on the “punk” part of Cripple Punk, like for example, why it’s more than an aesthetic, why you can be punk without “dressing punk,” or why you, personally, feel more empowered by the “punk aesthetic”
Anything that you would like to share in the zine as a disabled person; these are just a few examples!
Submission Rules:
All submissions must be SFW
Include trigger warnings for common triggers
All written submissions other than The Big Article should be 0-3 pages (850 words max) (or 85 lines) font size 14
The Big Article (specify if you’d like to write this) should be 1-5 pages (or 250-1500 words) font size 14
All image submissions must be 300dpi and 4”x5”, 4”x9”, 7”x5”, or 7”x9″.  File type must be png or jpg
Please include image descriptions for any images
Submission deadline is Nov. 1st for the first issue, but please try to get submissions in well before then!
You MUST sign a consent to publish form, found here (download, sign, send to us)
All submissions and consent forms must be emailed to [email protected]. Please try to send them together!
EDIT: we are ONLY accepting pieces by physically disabled creators
Please reblog and spread the word! #CripplePunkPresents

Not to be dramatic or anything, but I personally feel like this might be one of the most important comics I’ve ever drawn. The world has so many preconceived ideas about what disability is “supposed” to look like—so when people with invisible disabilities come along and challenge those ideas, they are often met with a lot of unnecessary and, frankly, terrifying aggression. I’ve heard stories of people being yelled at, notes being left on windows, and even vehicles being vandalized because someone did not “look disabled enough” to use an accessible parking space. This sort of treatment is unacceptable.
I don’t normally ask you all to share my comics, but I believe that this one needs to be seen, especially by people who are outside the disability/chronic illness community—and the only way that’s going to happen is if we work together. 💪 Help people remember that not all disabilities look that same—and that not all disabilities are visible.

hey! id be interested in submitting to the zine but im not sure if i count as disabled enough; ive only got ibs+tmj and chronic pain that stems from a somatic disorder which makes it... less of a physical condition and more of my brain being dumb. i just wouldnt want to infringe on any spaces so!
You are very welcome to submit and be involved in this community, as per to what Tai said from the beginning of the movement. What you are describing are invisible chronic conditions/illnesses and those most definitely count!! I actually suffer from quite a few of those myself and they are very hard to manage!! You are not alone at all. -Ogrefairy

Hi! I just saw your post about making a zine. I'm a disabled punk and would love to contribute. What sorts of things are you looking for?
Hello! I’m so sorry for taking so long to respond. We are looking for art of any kind! Poetry or drawings or paintings or photography or more are all wonderful things to submit. You can also write something about your personal experiences and that may be accepted as well. Just keep in mind that the theme of this first issue is “What is Cripple Punk?” so with your piece try and answer that question. If we find that your submission doesn’t fit, it may be saved for a later zine. -Ogrefairy

Hey everyone!! In case you haven’t heard, we’re planning a sort of “big bang” on the 29th of September to promote CPP, where everyone tweets using the #CripplePunkPresents hashtag to get the project more visibility all at once. Contributing to this would help us out a lot!
Reminder that #CripplePunkPresents’s goal right now is to start a zine by and for physically disabled people, both to spread radical disability acceptance and to honor Tyler and others we’ve lost. WE DESPERATELY NEED SUBMISSIONS! Please spread the word, especially on the 29th!! ]
If all of our tumblr followers could please be aware of this! We’d really appreciate it if you could follow us on twitter @cpunk_presents and contribute to this event.
