Y’all I just realized that Ellie was the ultimate nepo baby of Jackson, Wyoming.
No really, her aunt and uncle are senior members of the town council (with Maria being one of the founders), and her father figure Joel is the foreman of construction in Jackson, literally responsible for building homes for everyone.
There’s no way Ellie would get in trouble for her escapades, and definitely no one could mess with her with those three around. The people of Jackson had no choice but to put up with her!
I can imagine her being caught redhanded doing some crazy shit and being like, “my father, the inventor of toaster strudel, won’t be so happy to hear about this!”

It struck me while reading Sunrise on the Reaping that we’ve likely met more Everdeen family members than we think.
SOTR confirmed that the Everdeen family has their own naming convention: Plant names. We have Katniss, Primrose and Burdock.
But in TBOSAS, we also meet Spruce and his sister Lil (whose name I’m assuming is short for Lily). When Arlo Chance called out for his love Lil to flee, this inspired Lucy Gray to write the Hanging Tree.
Y’all realize this means that the Hanging Tree song was written about Katniss’ relatives and generations later would be used by her to take down an empire? Smh

Walk with me for a second, but I had a shower revelation: If Coriolanus’ father was killed by Lucy Gray’s father, that likely happened out by the lake with the rest of the Covey hiding out in the lake house.
I’ve long believed that the Covey were the ones who built the lake house outside District 12. We know that they used to travel from district to district performing, so they likely had multiple shelters and homes scattered across Panem. It makes sense the lake house would be one of those spots.
So at the time of the war breaking out, the Covey happen to be near District 12 and hunker down in the lake house. Coriolanus’ father and other troops probably discover them while scouring the woods for rebels, and that is when the standoff happens.
You know what that would mean?
That damn lake has seen everything in this series.
I haven’t heard any theories about this so I’m starting: I’m pretty sure that Coriolanus’ father was killed by Lucy Gray’s father in the woods outside District 12. Or at least heavily involved in his death.
Suzanne Collins never includes a detail for no reason, and she confirms that Coryo’s father was killed by the District 12 rebels. She also mentions that Lucy Gray’s father was killed for being a rebel.
So it’s likely that Lucy Gray’s father was a rebel (by virtue of being Covey and wanting to maintain their nomadic lifestyle). Coryo’s father may have been hunting rebels in the woods where the Covey were hiding out, and been killed in self-defense.
Haymitch even mentions in SOTR that the Covey adults had all been killed at the end of the war while the Covey children were forced into District 12. What reason would there be to execute all the adults of an entire group if not revenge for killing a Capitol commander?
This would be so crazy and that’s why I’m convinced that Suzanne Collins wrote with this in mind. The implications are insane. Coryo’s father would be responsible for the Hunger Games, which is how his son would wind up meeting his killer’s daughter and falling in love. All before going to District 12 himself and choosing between Capitol or freedom.

The funniest recurring theme I’ve noticed while watching Race to the Edge was the other dragon riders (and even the dragons themselves) running into Hiccup’s hut to wake him up late at night when they’re in trouble.
Meatlug came to him when Fishlegs was trapped in his “kingdom”, Stormfly also did when Astrid was really sick, and poor Hiccup wakes up terrified every time. 😆
It’s played for laughs but really shows how much the dragon riders trust Hiccup as their leader who looks after them.
Literally this meme:
