Uncoached training at 530 tonight in the gym until 830. Also last session of training Wednesday morning leaving from the gym at 10 am if you're free. I'm planning on grabbing a few pieces of gear and exploring the running track near the gym, it should be quite an adventure! Regular training resumes at 610 am Friday.

Guys, I'm keen to make friday more fun and intense for more trainees. We used to make friday a good day to do partner and fun work outs including more competition like work outs and movements. I'd love to make a one friday night a month into a BBQ and tough work out night. Would any one be keen for something like this? Enjoying harder workouts and some meat/veg on the bbq instead of heading out drinking. Let me know in the comments.

Punishment work outs! Ok guys, you know that there was a little problem last week with alarm clocks. One of our coaches who will remain namless was MIA. and you all know what that means... Punishment work outs! What better way to wash away all the guilt and shame of messing up than with a brutal work out. Post your best suggestions here for a good punishment for missing a class and I'll pick the best one and Robbie and I will have to do it together! nothing including food im afraid, what is everyones obbsession with food workouts...

Guys, there has been so many big achievements lately that I wanted to point some out and point out what I feel is the common link between them. I'd like to say a big congrats to Spyro and Alex, competing in your first comp is tough, and you both improved greatly in your preparation for them. They both had huge personal bests in olympic lifts, double unders and raw strength movements in the recent months. A huge congratulations to TJ for getting her first pull ups and first hands and feet push ups. Benji for getting his first one hand push ups! George for getting his first LSit rope climb! Kevin for getting his first full rope climb. Now almost every one on this list has had niggles lately, small issues which needed management. However despite this they continue to train sensibly, listening to scaling and making sure that they rest when needed. a lot of the time ego can get in the way, 'why can't I do what he or she does', 'I don't want to scale', but the best athletes in the gym consistently do two things. Scale their work outs when needed and come to the gym even if they don't want to. I'm no exception, I did a workout with friends the other day, I chose to do a scaled movement instead of performing ring dips because of my shoulder which had been sore, even after years of CrossFit I find no shame in choosing the right exercise for a given day so that I can keep working and get stronger for tomorrow. Since I rested it instead of persisting I felt better sooner and now I'm back on the rings. So if you want advice from someone who's watched lots of athletes progress my advice is as follows. *Do your best each day to make it to the gym, *Train what's right for you. *Always be looking for the next small goal, if that's a competition or a first pull up it will help you drive yourself and consdier where you are now and where you want to be in 6 months. See you in the gym! Coach Scott
