3 thousand apologies for replying to this about 3 months late. I think I might have originally played around with that and made it in Illustrator, but I’ve got a Photoshop tutorial for you bc I assume most people use that. Anyway, here we go:

Have your text quite closely spaced. My text settings (- 25 VA):

So originally my text looks like:

So, to get the drop shadow, I’ve literally just used the Polygonal Lasso Tool, commonly known as the crop tool, to create the drop. I use ‘Solid Color’ to fill in the area:

Each time I add to the drop, I make sure I’ve selected the black part of the layer. This is so you can fill in the same layer and change the colour all in one go later, if you so choose: 

Eventually you’ll get to this, and you’re done! 

Honestly I’m 100% sure there’s a much simpler way to do this, but there you go!
