2023 started in a strange place. some blessings came in the most questionable of disguises. many reminders that the journey matters most in my life-practice of music and that doubt and confidence can dance awkwardly with one another. the thing that matters the most is that you spent time on the dance floor. pressed enter on many things that made me very nervous yet i knew it was what i was called to do. so many circles completed this year. met some of my oldest friends again in strangely overlapped paths, made new friends who seemed to be on parallel paths this whole time, old homes left, released an album that has been on my mind for a long time. it was like some things i hold dearly in my orbit almost got away from me, and things from my past returned to remind of some important lessons. when blessings come by, i feel most like a witness.

Last year around this time I had finished digesting many Institutional No's. So, I was like, okay, let me try my best to put Another Blue out independently. I suppose when you've been told No, or have your creative decisions questioned so much in a short amount of time, which is what happened last year, you start to second guess a lot. I don't think this experience is uncommon. SO, this for me is wild. I appreciate the people who have gone out on a limb for the record. At least, that's what it feels like.

There are no pinnacles to arrive to! Especially when making things. There's only the "presentation of process" (thanks JayAr for giving me that term).
