It is a painful truth that actually none of my fics are abandoned, no, not even the ones that haven’t updated in five years. I still know exactly what happens next, and after that, and so on. They’re not abandoned; they’re right here, haunting me, characters climbing up my pants like kittens nagging for dinner.

Honestly, even if someone managed to prove that non-monogamous relationships are statistically more likely to end or last less time on average than monogamous ones, I don't think that would prove monogamy is better. I actually wouldn't be surprised if this is the case. What this would probably mean is that non-mono people are more willing and able to leave a situation that is no longer mutually healthy and fulfilling, due to, on average, being more self aware and communicative of their wants and needs and having better support networks. I think the fixation on this point by anti-poly people just shows that they're terrified of change in their relationships and projecting that on everyone else.

(Disclaimer, I’m not a trans man, but I am a lesbian, and I’ve read a lot about queer history)

Obviously trans men are real men but to pretend they have no connection to womanhood despite it being forced on nearly all of them through out their formative years is absurd and demanding they let go of all connections to womanhood in order to be seen as real men is not your place.

I have seen many AFAB non binary lesbians say they identify as lesbian in order to continue to connect to womanhood. I don’t see why we can’t allow trans men the same.

All of this stems from the idea that man and woman are inherently separate, that there can’t be any blurring or mixing of the two without invalidating the other, which is an idea that goes against queer explorations of gender. If you are a trans man that would feel invalidated and misgendered by identifying as a lesbian, that’s fine, but if you are a trans man that wants to identify as a lesbian as a way to comfortably hold onto women hood or just connect even deeper to your own queerness and avoid the label “straight” that’s also fine.

The moment we start excluding who can and cannot use queer labels in the queer community we divide ourselves, which can only lead to further harm. Everyone’s queerness is unique to them, to say someone is being queer incorrectly is to hold onto the ideas queer people have worked for decades and decades to erase. It doesn’t protect anyone, especially when you talk over people who don’t want your protection

The First Minister has apologised to Scotland’s Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller Community for our role in the ‘Tinker Experiment’.

The Tinker Experiment happened pre-devolution between 1940-80, before Scotland regained its parliament, but Scottish councils and the Church of Scotland supported the UK Government and its attempted to forcefully integrate the GRT Community into mainstream society by threatening to remove children from their care.
