oh wow! hey if you take pills check this out. new medicine taking meta just dropped.
according to these models, out of the 4 tested postures, the best position to digest pills is laying on your right side. standing upright has a similar time to laying in your back at twice as much as laying on the right side, and laying on the left side is the slowest by far.
laying on right side: pill dissolves in around 10 minutes.
standing: pill dissolves in 23 minutes. laying on the back has a similar time.
laying on left side: pill dissolves in up to 100 minutes.
https://doi.org/10.1063/5.0096877
definitely worth a lot more research.
if you want your medicine to kick in fast, try laying on your right side! if you want your medicine to kick in slower, try laying on your left side.

Everytime I recognize a thought as intrusive, I've been pausing and mentally adding a little asterisk to it.
"I am going to swerve off the road*! I need to pull over**!"
*no you're not, you've been driving for years without incident.
**don't do that, just get to your destination and then take a break

I dont want to just straight up say "hey I've been having lots of ocd symptoms and they are taking up a lot of my time and energy." So instead I mentioned some of the more concerning obsessions and classical obsessions and compulsions I've been having, and what I got was "wow that's a lot. You have a very over active imagination. Have you tried *compulsion* or *reassurance seeking* or *checking*. Maybe an outlet, maybe stand up comedy" I DONT WANT TO DO STANDUP COMEDY ABOUT MY HORRIBLE THOUGHTS
#in her defence#i was trying to light hearted because I'm afraid of therapy#I'm so bad at therapy dawg#currently living in my personal hell

Great note from therapy today! If I don't cure my incurable disabling sleep disorder I will never amount to anything!
#non24#n24swd#that isnt what she said#it kind of is but she said it much nicer#more like “put in an effort to sleep at a consistent time to make your goals more achievable”#but it still hurt#one day maybe

ok not to be that guy but like. labor rights and working class rights can coexist with 24h services and late amenities. its certainly hard to do so without worker exploitation in this political and social environment, it’s not a conflict likely to resolve overnight. but 24h services are important and especially valuable to those of us that are disabled or are on a different circadian rhythm. in fact more professional, health, and government services should be available or at least possible to work on asynchronously (if applicable) during late or odd hours, while workers also get sufficient pay for their labor and proper consistent scheduling. this would be much easier on the workers with night schedules if the entire professional world didn’t grind to a halt at 5pmEST

hi, a lot of you need a perspective reset
the average human lifespan globally is 70+ years
taking the threshold of adulthood as 18, you are likely to spend at least 52 years as a fully grown adult
at the age of 30 you have lived less than one quarter of your adult life (12/52 years)
'middle age' is typically considered to be between 45-65
it is extremely common to switch careers, start new relationships, emigrate, go to college for the first or second time, or make other life-changing decisions in middle age
it's wild that I even have to spell it out, but older adults (60+) still have social lives and hobbies and interests.
you can still date when you get old. you can still fuck. you can still learn new skills, be fashionable, be competitive. you can still gossip, you can still travel, you can still read. you can still transition. you can still come out.
young doesn't mean peaked. you're inexperienced in your 20s! you're still learning and practicing! you're developing social skills and muscle memory that will last decades!
there are a million things to do in the world, and they don't vanish overnight because an imaginary number gets too big

seek excellence in your art, never stop looking for ways to improve, but know that there is nothing you'll learn that will make your previous art a waste. there is no prerequisite knowledge besides basic literacy of your materials and inquisitive taste. you will never learn something and wish you'd known it already before you made a piece of art. you will always hate your work after it turns a couple years old, but you too will always come to cherish it again.
