Do y’all think Suguru used one of his more gentle curses to kill his parents? Maybe it happened as he held his mother for the last time, hugging her and telling her thank you for everything.

They can’t see them so maybe they didn’t even know what was happening to them until they were already gone.

Do you think he ate a meal with them first? Let his mother feed him one last time? Helped his father with chores before the end?

Do you think he almost didn’t go through with it? Like maybe his finger hovered over the call button, Gojo’s number primed so he could beg his friend to come help him?

In the end, it was the count of his pulse as he stared at Gojo’s name that finally talked him into going through with it? After all that’s who all this was for, the boy who wore the skin of the strongest but who Geto had seen in his most vulnerable moments. Those times when Gojo maybe got a little too drunk and cried to him about not wanting the burden of being the strongest anymore(that’s now why Gojo doesn’t drink anymore). It certainly wasn’t for town or the people who didn’t understand him or give him grace, not even his parents who loved him but didn’t know how to deal with him.

No, Suguru wanted to change the world so it wouldn’t need someone to be the strongest anymore. So Satoru didn’t have to be the strongest anymore. So that all those people, the ones like him at school that were wonderful and strong and kind, didn’t have to be strong anymore. They could just be.

To do that, to be that for them, he had to kill the parts of himself that had lived before. His parents couldn’t live because then there would be a piece of who he was before JJTech that still existed. Pieces of him that still remembered what of was like before he had seen his gruesome the world with curses in it could be.

No yall don’t understand!!! (she screams as they try to haul her back inside the asylum). Gojo left his clan. Did everything he had to do to get out and go to school. He didn’t have friends, fun or a life inside the clan. It was always just him, the untouchable strongest.

His first experience at life was at Jujutsu Tech. It’s why he was so goofy all the time. It was his first chance at being able to have fun, make friends and yes, even make mistakes. (It’s probably also why all of his downfalls happened when he let his guard down).

He didn’t become friends with Geto, he imprinted on him like a god damned baby duck. That was his person, his everything, his first attempt at life.

But somehow not his last. He went on to make sure young people didn’t have their youth stolen away like his had been. By the clan first, sure. But more devastatingly, by his friend, his person, his Suguru.
