My Thoughts on Young Composers:

Young Bartok looks like that kid who jokes around in class all the time and everyone pretends they think he’s annoying, but they secretly think he’s funny. Also his hair is straight out of the 2000’s. Amazing.

Holy crap. No one told me young Brahms was hot. Can textbooks stop using pictures of him as an old man please?

I understand why Liszt was so popular with the ladies, but this portrait just makes me think Victorian au fanart of Baz Pitch.

Holst looks like someone narrowed Harry S Truman’s face in photoshop.

Vaughn Williams looks like he’s an engineering major at an Ivy League school. I cannot explain further.

Grainger is the biggest fuckboy you’ve ever seen. 100% would make a tinder using photos of holding the fish he caught.

I’m back at college! And I have been practicing just not posting haha I’m not that bad of a music student

I haven’t exactly been keeping track though so let’s call this post days 15, 16, and 17

My audition went really well and landed me in the first chair of our wind symphony! I’m nervous but it’s been motivating me to practice a lot more.

If anyone has any tips for being section leader send them my way!

Did I take a week break? No, of course not. You’re so silly imagining these things. I am a good music major that has practiced all these days consecutively, and don’t forget it. So... days 13 and 14!

Anyways today I worked on holding my clarinet, because while my hand position is getting better I haven’t actually been holding the clarinet’s weight and therefore cannot hold it for more than a minute without pain. Rip.

There are also some bass clarinet excerpts but I don’t play bass so I don’t have to learn them. If anyone has any other questions feel free to ask me any time!
