Happen? Well, if she were to be completely honest with him (which she should have been from the get-go), then yes, something definitely had happened. To which her wide eyes and pursed lips were trying ever so hard not to tell. It was at that moment that his single question had confirmed Serah’s own suspicions about their situation: this Noel was from another timeline. A steady smile remained on the seeress’s lips, mustering all the strength taht she could to keep with the facade that she was from the same timeframe as he was. ...And yet, she couldn’t help but feel a pang of strife. And so she decided to avoid the whole question altogether, shaking her head in response. Luckily for her, though, Noel was just as chipper as ever.
“‘Sidekick?’” she repeated, brows furrowing as if to pretend that she was mad; she might as well play along with the lighthearted mood that had suddenly rekindled between them. Serah crossed her arms, feigning annoyance with such a comment. “I hope you meant that as a joke.” She drew closer to him then, boot heels clacking against the city’s paved cement sidewalks. Her arm extended out towards him to give him a light nudge in the arm. “But I think you might be right -- maybe within this city we might find another artefact.”
Eyes slightly faltered then, as she was quick to blink back the sudden revelation that there would not be such an object here. Because in the timeline she had come from, all of them have been recovered -- and her fate had been sealed. “It’ll take us one step closer,” she said, her voice a bit softer in tone, “To Lightning.” Serah was quick to overcome her moment of remorse, and took a few steps ahead of him with her hands clasped behind her back. It was beginning to feel like old times, then; if only for a while. She turned around to look at her companion, smiling. “This place seems pretty big, though. Where do you suppose we start?”
❥ forgive & forget. // closed.
Ejected within a compact sea of people deemed to be the ‘normal’ as nobody spared a glance nor a friendly hand. Instead, everyone strode aimlessly in multiple directions as if they were zombies…only to be watched as pawns and entertainment for the scientists above.
Arms crossed aligning his chest, a heavy sigh evacuating his physique. He sketched an escape plan in his head, detailing every possible option that was available but it was clear that wrapping his head around this would only result in a tremendous headache. Plus, there was nobody in sight that stroke his memory, nothing but shadows and strangers.
As if on cue – a familiar melodic voice rang into his ears. Whether or not it was a hallucination, the man immediately turned in prospect that she was there. It felt almost like a long-shot, selfishly and silently wishing that maybe – just maybe, he wouldn’t have to challenge the Hive alone. Noel didn’t identify himself as ‘dependent’ but he did after adventuring and locking a bond between Serah, Mog and her friends. Though, the remaining recollection of their journey was distorted.
‘Did something happen?’
Before he could dwell any further, a brief shock disclosed his features seeing Serah physically exist in front of him. ‘Could it be that this was their new world to explore?’ Noting her radiant glow and enthusiasm, he chuckles in response. “What? You’d think I’d go without you, Serah?! How could I forget my trust and ever so loyal – sidekick.”

Lips quivered upon hearing Hope’s answer; and yet, there had been something within her consciousness that had warned her to toughen up at such a question. Serah wasn’t expecting a bad outcome -- lest the worst option possible. She took a step back in disbelief, her arms pressed tighter against her tiny frame as she felt herself shrink from the idea. “She’s...b-but, she couldn’t be,” she whispered, as if to herself. Serah could feel her eyes starting to blur, as tears started to well up in her eyes. She knew she shouldn’t cry; Lightning wouldn’t have wanted that, of all things...--
But then she remembered, the image surging from the recesses of her mind to the forefront of her memory: her sister’s smile. It was the last poignant snippet she had left of Lightning, along with the sense of relief that had overwhelmed her when they had hugged at the foot of a crystallized Coccoon. Lightning had taught her better -- to stay strong. And to have that be the last memory of her sister? Well, then. Her pink ponytail swayed across her bare shoulders as she shook her head, visibly ridding herself from doubt’s shackles.
“No,” she said then, her voice taking on a more confident stride, “Now’s not the time to think like that.” Her eyes turned to look back up at hope, her face resolute, determined. “I’m not going to mourn. She wouldn’t be happy with us if we did. Lightning is alive -- I just know it.” Her fingers clasped her pendant as her head ducked down, if just for a moment to collect her thoughts. “If I was able to get a second chance here, then...surely Lightning must have gotten one, too. Which means she might be here.”
She could feel a wave of courage rekindle within her; this must have been what her sister felt like all the time. “Let’s go find her, Hope. Together.” As to where exactly they should start, however, she should would leave that up to the Director.
❥ reunion. // closed.
So in the end, it was true. The Serah he could see now was indeed from their unfortunate timeline. Even if she wasn’t, what could he do? Warn her? The alternations in the timeline were the reason behind her death and to warn her would send another wave of change to the timeline. After all she and Noel did for humanity, doing everything within their ability to avert a time where the world lay in decay, death and destruction as a reward for their efforts was just too cruel.
True to her words, she did seem fine, at least as far as he could see. Serah was brave, probably one of the bravest people he’d met. Knowing one’s demise was not light knowledge–it was a heavy burden. The fallen city of Paddra was proof of that.
When she asked of Lightning, the words he wanted to say seemed stuck in his throat. It wasn’t in him to lie to her–he couldn’t. He wished he had a sliver of good to tell, something to give her faith. She deserved that much at the very least, especially after everything she’d done. In the end, no matter how much he yearned, all he had was nothing. Lightning was no where to be seen after the catastrophe that befell them and beyond that point Hope had found himself within the confines of the city, in the streets they stood in now. It was his turn to cast his gaze downwards, away from Serah’s expectant eyes. He shook his head, lips pressed into a thin line.
"We…there was no sign of her, not from what I remember last.” It tore at his heart to say it, to be the bearer of bad news, for even he expected Lightning’s return from the realm beyond theirs–they all did, most of all Serah. Hope couldn’t begin to imagine how she felt. Maybe if he searched farther before being taken, maybe things could’ve been different now. He felt helpless. This truly was far too cruel.

She had been told by passerby that few people ever ventured into District Mu’s Auburn woods. Even now, as she stood before thorny briars that curled and caved in to form hollowed entrance into the woods, Serah was feeling reluctant to enter. Though she was sure that he was somewhere in there, a trusted friend who had managed to get himself tangled within its labyrinth of hedges and untamed brush. A soft, distressed sigh escaped her lips then; inaudible to most, perhaps, save for the young boy who had almost passed by her.
“O-Oh, no. I’m fine,” she stammered as hands raised and visibly shook to dissuade him from concern. “It’s just, well. You wouldn’t happen to have seen a small white creature around, would you?” She was sure he wouldn’t know what a ‘Moogle’ was -- nobody had; everyone had given her skeptical, upturned frowns in return. “He’s small, and has purple wings--” Though this was probably sounding more bizarre by the second, and Serah was quick to stop herself.
“--Sorry. He’s a friend of mine. And I think he might have wound up in...there.” She turned to look towards the forests foreboding entrance then, her hands quick to grip the wooden bow she had been given. “I wouldn’t mind going in if I had a proper weapon to defeat monsters, but without one...it would be dangerous.”

Gloved hands cupped themselves over her mouth as a soft laugh escaped her lips; she hadn’t expected that such a small compliment was enough to completely fluster the girl before her. Not that it was a bad thing, though: after all, compassion was what Serah (secretly) prided herself in. “Sorry if I was eavesdropping on something special,” she said as she neared the base of the tree’s large trunk. “Though it really was beautiful -- is it something you’ve written?”
Perhaps a bit too giddy at the idea of fostering and inspiring a person’s special gifts, the teacher within Serah was getting the better of her as she spurred on the other’s idea of making her artistic knack into an actual career. “I’m positive that you’d be able to be one, if you wanted! You certainly have the talent!” She paused then, eyes straying from the girl up before her and down to the grass below. It was then that it hit her. “Oh, but -- I’m pretty new here. So I wouldn’t be much help in finding a place to showcase your talents.”
“You wouldn’t happen to know of any, would you?” Her thoughts strayed to her hometown in New Bodhum, thinking of all the types of talent shows they’d showcased on weekends for the tourists that flocked to their shores during the summer months. “I’m sure there must be some restaurant or cafe out there that would provide you with an opportunity...”
It had always been something she loved to do.
That much would be apparent to whoever could catch the sounds of the young teen’s almost dreamlike, soft vocables filling the air, singing a tune she knew well from back home. Of course, the girl loved the attention her singing always brought, but for some reason, she couldn’t find herself going nearby any crowd’s to sing this time. Unsure of the reason why herself, the viridian-haired teen decides to simply chalk it up to the fact that she simply hasn’t sang for a while during her stay in the Hive.
“… Oh–?” after she finishes her song, the girl lets out a small gasp of surprise as another girl approaches her, offering compliments at once. If there’s one way to befriend Maggie easily, it’s to compliment her… Especially when she’s not feeling the most confident at the moment, as much as her exterior says otherwise.
“T-Thanks… I’m not, but I mean, I certainly wouldn’t mind being one… Do you think I could be one here?” she asks, though more so to herself than the stranger. “Never mind, that’s a stupid question… I didn’t even see you come over here, though… Guess I was too wrapped up in my own little world,”
#gramens#maggie 01#( a million gomens for how late this is tarra;;;; )#( BUT!! im glad this worked! maggie seems so cute ahhh i hope she + serah can be friends c: )

She tucked a stray hair behind her ear before summoning up a quick cure spell. She managed to keep a fair distance as best she could, timid as she was. And the more she listened to him, the more she was beginning to feel he was a bit too proud of his brawling conquests...
“Well, try not to get into too many fights,” she said, her voice wavering a bit. "After all, this place seems pretty...dangerous." After all, she wanted to sound as innocuous as possible, seeing as how she wasn’t too sure how this guy took advice (and she was guessing not well). Within a matter of seconds the bruise had completely erased itself from the young boy’s lips, and the light glow that radiated from her fingertips dissipated. While it certainly wasn’t a curaga, it certainly had done the job. “There, that should do it!” she exclaimed, slightly smiling at her own work. “Oh, and I’m Serah -- I’m glad I could help.”
Speaking of help, though: “But, um. You wouldn’t happen to know how to get out of this sector, would you?” Anxious eyes glanced back out into the main street with glowing strobe lights and suspicious characters. “I...don’t think I’d really want to stay around here.”
Nines fist clenched more as the pain was numbing from his adrenaline that coursed through his veins, blue hues glancing over at the pinkette who didn’t seem like she was going to kick his ass anytime soon.“Where did you come from’?” A brow raised, despite his comment he found no threat with the stranger. Unless he was mistaken.
“Wound?”
He felt the blood trickle down his jaw, a hand reaching up to wipe it away. Admittedly it stung when his fingers touched it but it wasn’t anything he couldn’t handle.” This? It ain’t nothing, yo! I’ve taken more hits that were worth a talk’.”None the less the cadet was still appreciative even if he didn’t seem like it , the grin on his face spoke for him.“A lil curaga couldn’t hurt I guess.” Nine motioned submissively, “Who’re you ?The’ names Nine, yo.”

“‘Important,’” she repeated, her voice a mere mumble. Serah looked down as she clasped the pendant in her hands, lacing her fingers around its chain. “Yes. It is in a way, I guess.” She’d have to save the (complex) situation for later; worrying about it now wouldn’t do her any good, and she certainly wasn’t about to tell a mere stranger her whole situation. Unclasping the necklace and refastening it around her neck, though, did seem to make her feel a bit more complete.
“Oh, but! I should repay you. I mean, you did find it -- it’s the least I could do.” Though she wasn’t exactly the best person at the moment to accept favors, seeing as how she was entirely new to this city altogether.
Cloud heard a quiet slide-and-clink of something metallic falling, and looked around looking between the people nearby and the ground. Ah - there, a young lady had just dropped a necklace. She didn’t seem to have noticed just yet. He moved over and scooped it up for her.
He’d barely picked it up when she did notice, and started looking for it. No wonder it hadn’t taken her long; it was surprisingly heavy. He didn’t bother saying anything, just waited a few seconds for her to notice. Only once she spotted him holding it did he speak.
“Sure, no problem,” he agreed, giving it back to her. It was a pretty interesting design, too. he hoped she didn’t read into it much - she’d have found it shortly with or without him. “Sounds like it must be important to you.”

Hands frantically patted her chest, shoulders, and neck. Ragged from searching, Serah turned to look down at the ground around her, wondering if her necklace and fallen down below her instead. While it certainly was a bit heavier than the average accessory, she couldn’t imagine how in the world it could have unclasped by itself and fallen. Blue hues eyed the gutter beside her, horrorstruck -- had it fallen? Or, what if...someone had stolen it--? Her anxiety was, thankfully, remedied by a peculiar blond, who gestured at the item he had locked in between his fingertips.
“Thank you,” she said, breathing a long sigh of relief. Serah began to reach out towards the trinket. Again, she honestly didn’t know how it come off in the first place, but she was certainly indebted to the one who had managed to find it and return to her in the nick of time. “I don’t know what I'd do if I hadn't found it.” This pendant was, of course, something she dearly treasured -- despite the circumstances, of course.

15, 16, and 24.
15. If your muses were locked together in a room, with you.
Yuri and Gogo would be sassing each other while Serah and I would probably just hold each other’s hands while we wait out the storm of snide remarks they other two dish out to each other. But I don’t think Yuri and Gogo would ever stop because they are both very…stubborn.
16. Which muse gives you the most “cringe moments”? (Such as the kind where you want to scream at them to not do what they’re doing in the tags)
Gogo — yup, always Gogo. I have yet to come across a situation where Yuri says something really biting that he’ll get punched. …Yet. *v*
24. Do you have nicknames/petnames for your muses?
Not really! I like to call all of them “bby” or the generic “my son/my daughter/my queen.” Well sometimes when my friends and I derp around I call Serah ‘Seruh,’ but…other than that, nope! c:

17. FMK with your muses are your options?
Conveniently I have 3 muses here at Citta, but OH DEAR ETRO HERE WE GO—
Fuck: Yuri Lowell >B^)Marry: Serah because wow what a good waifu???Kill: Gogo…oops
18. Are your approaches to writing/managing your different muses different, or are they same all across the board?
I would like to think they are a bit different; I try to balance how many threads are on each blog, but sometimes I can get so into a muse that I just blink and realize I owe 10 starters on one of them, and only have like, 3 threads on another. In terms of writing and muse characterization, I do try to be only ‘one muse a day,’ and stick to one personality for one day, and then try to get to another character’s reply on another day. I don’t do too well in hopping from account to account on the same day (unless it’s meme day, of course!).
19. Do your muses tend to be obscure, or popular?
The majority of them are pretty popular: Gogo and Serah are pretty identifiable characters, I think. As for Tales characters like Yuri, they’re a bit more obscure and a lot of people don’t know about the Tales games (which they should because all of them are hella awesome). I do like the idea of taking more obscure characters, though, because you kind of have a free range to interpret your character and don’t have to be compared to a lot of others, haha;;

The Hive’s park was spacious, if not the most peaceful place she had visited thus far. Sighing, Serah was just about to sit down on a vacant bench when she heard someone singing. Quick to find the source who had released such sweet melodies and soothing overtones, Serah gazed up at a young woman who seemed to find a nice spot away form the public in the sanctity of a large tree. The pink-haired girl was quick to wave at the other, hoping to get her attention once she had finished her little tune.
“That was such a beautiful song,” she exclaimed, coupled with a radiant smile. “Are you a singer? A songstress?” Despite her talents of being an archer and a somewhat capable healer and magician, Serah was not well versed in more practical, artistic talents. Perhaps a little too giddy (and nosy) for a stranger, the seeress gazed up at the other perched in a tree with hopeful, if not starstruck eyes.

She couldn’t help but watch a supposedly young child linger by the ice cream shoppe’s doorway. Knowing all too well the situation, she beckoned for him to come in and, kneeling a bit, smiled. “Would you like one, too? I’m sure I have some spare change.” Though ‘some’ was quite an understatement; with the combined strength of her and her partner Noel, they had racked up quite a bit of spoils prior to their final confrontation. Serah rummaged around in her bag to fish out some additional money for an extra order. “Go ahead and tell her what you want -- I’ll treat you!” Though as she gestured for him to step up to the ice cream windows to tell them the flavors, it suddenly came to her: what was a young child traipsing about the city when he should be in school? Surely the Hive had some sort of institution.
“Unless...you’re skipping school.” Her tone had grown stern, taking a sudden turn. A schoolteacher at heart, Serah certainly wouldn’t overlook a kid playing hooky.
