tuesday 3.25.2025. i'm soooo tired i need to actually sleep like a normal person tonight. i haven't filed my taxes yet so i went through some of my tax docs and apparently my sketchy former employer didn't withhold any taxes last year so i might actually crash out. that place needs to be audited by every government office but somehow they have insider friends and always get tipped off before an audit so they never will :,)

total study time- 9 hours

4 hours 30 minutes in class

1 hour outlining crim pro

2 hours 30 minutes reading crim pro

1 hour on org auction prep (putting together our program and updating baskets)

actually studied when i got home. normally i'm so tired after a whole day of class that i cba to do anything, but i forced myself today and got some stuff done :)

got my employment law final project approved! it's nothing serious but i'm still excited for it

I haven't been very productive today. to be fair I spent ~7 hours on my quantum homework (I was watching videos while I was doing it), I should've started it earlier 😅 but I finished it at 11:30p so it wasn't late at least.. I was doodling a bit, trying to get myself to draw/paint more

Last week of classes, exams on the horizon. At the moment I‘m completely overwhelmed with studying and I have papers to write as well (haven’t even started). Don’t really know how to deal with this stress so I just get nothing done… ☕️

getting a migraine sucks for all the obvious reasons but the fact that i'm teaching myself R by (fake) candlelight is objectively kind of funny. dark academia in the most literal sense.

belated valentines everyone. I'm quite bummed. I didn't expect the grades i got. And i got really, really low. But that's life, i guess. I really tried my hardest, but i panicked at the last minute and messed it all up. Its just man vs himself.

Right now, im studying for finals tomorrow and what I've got to remember is that these failures are just some little things that i shouldn't let bring me down. Yes, it does let me question myself if i'm good enough or smart enough. But, i know i'm still a hundred percent worthy. I probably won't remember this, or maybe I will. But, progress is progress. I've never had a routine this stable in so long and i miss it a lot.

I guess a reminder to be gentle with yourself today, and always keep persevering. Nothing is permanent. This will pass.

Wednesday 14th November 2024 [27/100 DOP]

I wasn't particularly productive today I admit

However I left the house and went to a friend's for board game night with the girls!

We ended up only playing one game of Azul because we were too busy yapping and eating Phở.

This was the first time I've ever had Phở and it was so good, definitely something I'll have again.

Mine had brisket, meatballs, button mushrooms and pak choi in it.

Tuesday 12th November 2024 [26/100 DOP]

Today was the third session of Forensic Casework:

The suspect stain which tested negatively for saliva...uh..tested positive as human semen which was definitely something.

We also did glass analysis and examination under a microscope.

One of the members of my lab group and I were losing our marbles because we had to tie a thread to the glass fragments to measure density and the threads kept sliding off.

The rest of our group did FTIR testing of paint samples - both recovered and reference

Also they did DNA extraction which was interesting

Today we had a lecture about forensic botany and a lecture about forensic investigations of car crashes and traffic incidents.

Super interesting!
