calling someone mentally unwell because they fell prey to a predatory system puts the blame on the person instead of the system. there are many closed species that sell single adopts for thousands i.e. dainties, chams, cccats, browbirds, probably a bunch of others. it's bad to frame it as a singular person's problem when the issue lies much deeper and broader than one person

blame pajuxi for deciding to sell it for the 1000usd in the first place and blame dainties for instilling the FOMO and artificial scarcity that made people think spending 1000usd on a single design is worth every penny

im gonna say it now but just because a thing looks a lot like another and may indeed look like a ripoff, closed species themselves are not original enough to be ‘ripped off’ of. they are often bipedal furry things with very common traits. just because something had horns and a curled tail does not make it a cham. just because something had a built-in fur hood does not make it an impim.

species are not original to be ripped off of and most look like another that comparing them does more harm than good i.e. insectoplants/terraliens/chimereons, gastrosnaps and leechmonsters, cccats and jellocats, etc. etc. etc.

this may be an unpopular opinion but i'm really sad that chimereons are inactive and might just be straight up dead until the foreseeable future. they stopped giving their bi-weekly updates in the discord and it's all come to a standstill, at least in the public eye. i have a MYO slot that i cant do anything with now lol it's just like a digital paperweight. and the person who traded it to me spent actually money on it, so it's really like throwing dollars into the void

if you think about it cs is already throwing dollars into the void. time to find a better hobby than fighting over who gives cs owners the most money. trust me, chams going inactive is going to be good for a lot of people to finally cut their losses and get free
