Local Snowboard Company on the Rise
728 Outdoor is an up and coming, local snowboarding company with much to offer to their customers. Located at the foothills of the Rockies in Laporte Colo., 728 Outdoor has their headquarters set up for purchasing individualized boards, a lounge area for studies, and a bar for socializing.
Tumblr media
Nick Kintzley started the company in April of 2010 with the intent of bringing a deep passion of snowboarding as well as a passion for the outdoors to customers.
“[I wanted] to provide niche products at a competitive price with no limitations of borders and utilizing our strong product management, manufacturing , quality control and logistics in Asia, (mainly, but not limited to) Taiwan and China,” Kintzley said about his initial startup of 728 Outdoor.
When asked about his goals for the Fort Collins headquarters Kintzley stated, “My idea was to provide  a showroom and HQ for managing North American affairs and display our extensive product line. 728 is starting with snow and apparel.”
Nick is currently living in Shanghai, China but continues to manage the production and any ideas relayed to him through the headquarters manager, Brandon Woolridge.
Woolridge acts as captain of the headquarters, working hard alongside other boarders and those passionate for the great outdoors to promote the brand name and get involved with the local community.
“I want to focus on the local community first. I believe we need to make a stand with the local riders by providing a unique product for the way they ride,” Woolridge said at a weekly meeting the Fort Collins crew has every Monday to keep the business on the right track.
Tumblr media
By providing individualized boards to fit a riders style, 728 hopes to change the game of snowboarding and the way business is run.
A recent article published in the Collegian also touches base on how 728 Outdoor is reaching out to the community by providing a study lounge for students wanting to escape the bustling of campus and Fort Collins life at their shop at 3101 Kintzley Ct.
Offering a variety of gear and boards Seven-twenty-eight outdoors is the local go to shop for a unique board to fit your style of riding or a place to escape for a Zen atmosphere.
Tumblr media
Whether you’re a ninja and like hitting the park or a backcountry guru looking to float on top of some powder, 728 Outdoor has the right board to match your style as an individual rider. Even if you’re looking for a quiet place for study 728 has you covered.
The company looks to expand their products in the future to suit a diversity of needs for the regular outdoor enthusiast. Until then they are offering quality customer service through their foothills shop.

Successful First Practice
The CSU snowboard team had their first full team practice at Keystone today. With a good turnout of about 21 people the team rode in some early winter snow on Keystone's opening weekend. Next practice is being considered and will be mentioned at the next team meeting. Until then, weather reports indicate that the mountains and Denver may receive snowfall over night which provides hope for better conditions and more runs to be open on the mountains. More snow and more runs will provide the team valuable time to work on goals and get ready for future competitions in the future.

ABasin Scavenger Hunt and Future Plans
The Colorado State University snowboard team is planning a scavenger hunt at Arapahoe Basin Ski Resort. The team plans to spread word about the team which in turn will help out the sponsors.
Team Officer Ryan DeAngelis talked about the events in the scavenger hunt being sponsor based as well because sponsors would be helping out with making these events happen. While prizes will also be sponsored the team can't make the event happen without the community or riders.
Jose Arosemena, another officer for the team said, "Who's gonna help out? Hopefully everyone at CSU".
Boarders and skiers are welcome to attend the event and enjoy a great time with an awesome team containing some talented riders and an important sponsor support the team has.
A small entry fee of around five dollars, would cover any food expenses for the day and riders would be welcome to ride up with the team members if they don't have any means of transportation to the mountains.
This is only one of the many things the team has to offer this season. A telluride trip is planned to take place over Winter break.
Ryan said the team will travel to Telluride Colo. for a great trip and awesome time on the mountains.
The team is going to have transportation and all other travel expenses covered through a travel agency and will come at reasonable price for everything provided.

The streak of Nate Dogggg lives on. For the 18th consecutive year, the 36-year old Breckenridge snowboarder, who declined to give his real name, says he has been the first to catch a chair to the top of a ski-lift on Colorado
It seems that competition for first opening day for mountains is getting a little tighter as time moves forward. A-Basin is now open with one run for skiers and boarders to cruise down. While some snow has fallen on the Rockies in Colorado, this early opening couldn’t prove successful without some man-made snow. An earlier season is what all skiers and snowboarders love to hear but with only one run open offering no powder and terrain to hit, the team hasn’t started practices just yet. More snowfall is expected soon bringing more hope to the team for more mountains to open with more runs and lots of offerings for a rad CSU Snowboarding 13-14 season.

Fort Collins expected snowfall October 4th 2013. It would have been the first snow fall of the year, unfortunately we didn’t receive snow. The CSU snowboard team, was upset to see the season be pushed back. Fortunately though, the peaks of The Rocky Mountains has received more snowfall than The Front Range has. Even though The Denver Post provided a winter storm warning for the northern Colorado area, snow did not fall in Fort Collins, CO but did in the Peaks. This provides a beacon of hope for the CSU Snowboarding team to start the season on time despite bad weather advisories.

SNOW HAS FALLEN ON THE ROCKIES! As the snowboarding season approaches more rapidly than ever the CSU snowboarding team is on their heels (and toes) just waiting for the mountains to open for some riding. While Wyoming has gotten up to 12 inches in some places Colorado is a little behind. However, A-Basin and Loveland are blowing snow onto the slopes in hope of opening an early season. Skiers and boarders all around the state are excited at the news and patiently await more snowfall and the notification of opening day just like the CSU snowboard team. Until the mountains are opened the team will continue to have meetings and maybe even some more training at the new indoor facility in Thornton, CO, Progresh.

Progresh is an innovative indoor training center dedicated to ski, snowboard, skateboard, BMX and tumbling progression, in a safe and comfortable environment.
The team had a fun training sesh yesterday with the folks at Progresh, the newest and radest indoor training facility for anything ski, bmx, skate, and of course snowboarding. The crew at Progresh took the team around the facility for a quick intro course of how things work in order to get to the training part helping the team in preparation for the rapidly approaching season. After training, the team got straight to the mega-ramp pulling off backflips, double fronts, and any other aerial trick that came to mind to perfect their awareness so as soon as they hit the pow there will be no worries. The whole day wasn’t just training though. While others were training others were having some fun on the trampolines and doing gainers off the ledges available to jump off of. The team unfortunately had one injury to a rider with a dislocated shoulder but she should be ready to shred soon and shouldn’t miss too much of the 2013-2014 season. A special thanks goes out to the crew at Progresh for an awesome time at their facility and the team will be going back as soon as they can!

The US Forest Service granted approval for terrain expansion on Peak 6. This expansion will give the resort a 23% increase in skiable acres.
The upcoming winter season in Colorado offers 400 acres of new lift terrain and 143 acres of new hiking terrain opening at Breckenridge's new addition of shreddable terrain on Peak 6. The CSU snowboard team will be testing the new addition as soon as the mountain is open to the public. A concern with the new peak is the possible loss of some awesome backcountry boarding Breck has to offer but with the new hiking acres available, this concern will be evaluated as soon as the powder is dumped and the new season begins. Along with the new peak opening on the mountain, the team will be all over the resort and other mountains Colorado has to offer this year.
