Do you think Lila knows Nath's identity?

I feel like she might know Marc's aswell after the identity reveal. Like, the way they did it, thats gonna have big consequences.

I’m guessing you’re talking about this scene. That was def my first thought, and it doesn’t help that Nath kept transforming in front of big windows and for improper reasons.

The reveal scene gave me the impression that their actions will have consequences, but then again, what happened with Alya and Nino in s4 was resolved sort of anticlimactically. Like you’d think there’d be big drama over it, and then whoops Nino just used his knowledge of Alya’s identity to try and protect her one time, and everyone acted like this was a bad thing for some reason, but nothing actually came of it. I expect this season to be better about actions having consequences based on how things have been going. I also think more people will have reveals, including most definitely Mylene and Ivan (based on their poses in the intro, but also reminder that Ivan canonically can’t lie to save his life).

I wouldn’t be so hasty as to say she knows both their identities for sure, though. That would imply she’s staring through Nath’s bedroom window and I don’t think anything suggested that. If anything, she’s probably just suspicious of everyone who’s close friends with the heroes who got exposed in s3.

Talking about that screenshotted scene in particular, Lila is asking a question. She wants to investigate something deeper because she doesn’t know the answer.

Her wording is odd. If she was talking about his hero identity, asking, “Nath, what is your true face?” feels off. That means she thinks Caprikid is Nath’s “true self”, and I don’t see why she would. Wouldn’t it make more sense, then, to say, “Caprikid, what is your true face?”

I think there’s a good chance that what she’s talking about isn’t related to hero identities. Maybe she has some crazy dirt on him like whatever’s going on with Ray and Zoe, but I’m seeing some other things going on here (or maybe not going on), so I’d like to propose another possibility.

I think it’s possible she’s referring to his mental state, like the toxic idea that people who have anger issues or low impulse control are “showing their real face” when they do something bad. She might be implying that he’s masking and she wants to see the full extent of whatever issues he has.

To support this, I want to point out something I noticed in this episode: Lila didn’t even try to akumatize Nathaniel. In Daddycop, the problem at hand primarily impacted Sabrina, and Lila tried to akumatize her over it. It was only after Sabrina’s rejection that Lila went after Roger, who was upset about the same thing. In El Toro de Piedra, Lila was stalking Ivan throughout the Louvre scene, but decided to akumatize Raul instead of him. I think this makes sense since Raul is more unstable than Ivan, being more explosive and less mature about the situation, which makes for a better akuma.

But in this episode, Lila only akumatized Shirel when she found out Nath illustrated the script. I’d argue Shirel wasn’t too much angrier in that moment than when she found the script in the first place, but in that scene Nathaniel was completely devastated. He immediately sprinted out of his house crying, ran all the way to school without calming down, and started wrecking his own hard work. Wouldn’t you think that’s the perfect time to send out an akuma?

I suspect Lila may want to try and akumatize Nath another time. She might set up some plan to make him really upset during a time/situation that’s perfect for her. She might also just try to use his strong emotional reactions against him and his friends without magic, like manipulating him into making other people upset or doing something that hurts the team. She was silent for most of this episode, and we didn’t see any shadowy creepy stalker figures this time, but she’s still filling up a notebook. Her main goal may have been observing the situation closer to help form a bigger plan.

We saw that Hawkmoth could sense people’s troubles psychically, so it’s possible for Lila to be observing how people feel in negative situations without physically following them around or watching them closely enough to find out they’re a superhero.

I support the hc that Nath has BPD, but if he actually has a diagnosis behind the problems canon has shown him to have, especially if it’s stigmatized, I could see that as being enough for Lila to act like he’s hiding his “true face”. (If she can meddle with school documents she can prob get into medical records too).

So yeah TLDR I think Lila may be suspicious of most of the superheroes including Marc and Nath, but probably doesn’t have enough info to prove it’s them for sure yet. That could very well change and cause problems later on. Either way, I think whatever she was talking about with Nath and his “true face” might have more to do with him personally rather than his hero identity. Namely, she might be referring to his volatile emotions or some underlying psych problem he has.

I think it would be really great if Marc was canonically adopted, it would add some nice variety and realism to the show!

I hope someone on the cast will be! I agree that it would contribute to them showing different types of families.

Recapping what I said about Marc for people who didn’t see my episode reaction post:

I noticed that while he does share some features with his mom, he doesn’t really look like the dad, and he has features that neither of the parents have.

In more detail, both Marc and the mom have sharp chins and similar mouth shapes with the dimples, which is something new they added to his redesign. She seems to have green eyes like him, although hers aren’t as saturated in color. They also have the same hair texture, (not to mention hairstyle, although that doesn’t mean much). Their ears might be similar shapes. His eyes look pretty similar to hers, especially when they’re closed.

Both the parents have yellowish skin undertones while Marc’s is more pink. He has thicker eyebrows than both of them. His nose is upturned while both the parents have downturned noses, and his is less bridged than theirs. We don’t know what the dad’s hair color used to be, but Marc for sure doesn’t get his from his mom.

So I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a bio mom and stepdad (or maybe even an aunt and uncle?! Their overly cool and chill vibes are giving aunt and uncle). The character designers are usually pretty good at making families look related, especially the ones designed later, so this standing out to me feels like it could be something. I wonder if anyone else had the same thought. Side-note, I want them to finally reveal what Marc’s ethnic background is. Why is he so racially ambiguous? Truly one of the deepest lore mysteries in the show. Also what do y’all think the parents’ sky-related pun names are gonna be because you know they’ll have them.

^ so if it’s an aunt and uncle he’d be adopted but if it’s a mom and stepdad then he wouldn’t be. But this is all speculation. If he’s not, then other characters could be.

Kim has two dads, but he might have one bio dad and one step dad. I’m thinking that because he’s Vietnamese and has a Vietnamese last name, so maybe it’s more likely that he got the name from his bio dad rather than a random Vietnamese guy in France adopting a son of the same nationality.

Kim has been accidentally retconned to have 3 different last names over the course of the show, and I remember reading somewhere that two of them might be repurposed for the dads (don’t remember where I saw this). But yeah Le Chien is like the “canon” one, but there was also Ature in earlier concepts because Kim Ature is a pun on immature (I see why they got rid of this. It’s not very accommodating for character development). He has also been referred to as Nguyen at least once and idk where that comes from ??? Other than it being a super popular name? But my theory/headcanon rn is that Mr. Le Chien is Kim’s bio dad, Mr. Ature is his stepdad, and Ms. Nguyen is his bio mom. We know how much they love reusing scrapped concepts for other things, so let’s see what they do with Kim’s family.

We also don’t know what Rose’s parents look like! She could easily be adopted since all we know about her family is that they exist.

I agree with you though, I’d like to see someone be adopted, and it would serve as yet another parallel to Adrien’s life since Nathalie is becoming his guardian now. Doubly so if that person wasn’t adopted very young and they remember the change. It’d be nice to have a parallel that’s not about abusive parents but rather someone who moved on from bad or dead parents to a loving new home and showing how they deal with that.

Gay people on national television! This one’s really long. If you read any one thing off this post let it be my analysis of Nath’s bedroom layout. Should I post that on its own, too?

Did they retcon his family to be ginger I’m confused. Oh wait no, I think the dad is, but the mom has brown hair? Curse the way they shade brown hair with orange highlights; it’s confusing, and it doesn’t help that Nath’s hair color right now looks more like his dad’s natural hair than his mom’s.

His mom might have green eyes, and her mouth and chin shape look like him as well as maybe the ears, and obv they have the same hair texture. Marc’s schoolbag has a tie-dye rainbow flap and the strap is studded like his belt. Nath’s is paint-splattered, and the flap has a comic book POW sunburst with a half-tone pattern and a graffiti tag. Gone are the days of everyone having bags that were the same assets, just randomly recolored in different pastel shades.

Show him painting more murals or something to justify this. Or give him a yellow Kanken, a huge reusable water bottle, and a phone case with a famous Impressionist painting on it idk.

The big nostrils they gave her are kind of distracting, though, and I feel like they make her less cute? If I were to draw a goat from memory I wouldn’t give it particularly large nostrils

“They can’t lose their powers, it’s not fair” oh this is so foreshadowing. It also reminds me of the overarching idea that as a miraculous holder you can kind of just do whatever you want, and that you can create a third outcome instead of choosing between two bad things

Really interesting how Nath’s room is so huge, but only the tiny, hidden-away corner of his desk is decorated or representative of his personality in any way. The rest of the room is neutral and boring like it’s from a real estate catalogue, and is clearly in his mom’s style rather than his own. That shows how controlling she is and how even in his own bedroom the space represents what she wants without considering him. There’s even an abstract painting with harsh black smears and a bunch of eyes on it? It’s like his parents put that up to make him feel like he’s constantly being observed or scrutinized by them even when they aren’t physically there, which follows him away from home as well. Creepy af and reminds me of that one psychology thing where putting up posters of eyes is supposed to deter people from stealing. He has to shove his true self into one little corner as far from the door’s line of sight as possible where he can block what he’s doing with his back.

And this whole “true self vs my parents want me to be a certain way” thing is put in the context of homophobia in this episode, but I think it goes deeper than that. His sexuality and career plan are just two examples in what’s likely a constant stream of “hey you’re not existing correctly please fix that”

When Gabriel Agreste in s4 came out I made a post about the juxtaposed shots of Adrien and Marinette’s scenes with how Adrien’s house is oppressively empty and colorless while Marinette’s bedroom and visit to the art room were colorful, crowded, and filled with details full of personality and warmth. They’re doing it again with Marc and Nathaniel’s houses as a parallel to Marinette and Adrien, and showing us the Mariknight art from that episode solidifies the callback. Even then, despite the rest of the house being cold af, Adrien got to have a bunch of colorful games, music, and a TV in his bedroom even though he didn’t really choose which enrichment got thrown into his enclosure. As far as I can tell, Nathaniel just has art supplies. How is Shirel worse than Gabriel in this regard the bar is in hell

Nath rewrote the ending and Marc liked it better hm. He’s also taking poetry class. Before, Nath said he was bad at writing, but it seems like he’s improving. I wonder if they’re moving in the direction of him making solo comics later on. Not saying he and Marc are gonna stop working together or anything, but Nath wants to do this for a living and we don’t have any indication of what Marc wants to do yet, so there’s a chance comics might be a hobby project for him in the future. By which I mean when they’re adults, not like, later this season.

Ok this is so nit picky but I do wish they did something to suggest he is bisexual in this episode. Totally understandable to focus on mlm relationships, but I see what I imagine are young kids on the insta side of the fandom get confused about season 1 and assume he “became” gay, or I guess had massive comp-het idk. They might be reinforcing that idea here. I hope there’s something later on at least, like that time Rose joked about kissing both Mari and Adrien.

In both those episodes, she didn’t say anything specific about Sabrina nor Ivan, so what’s going on in this one? Perhaps she was watching him in the scene where he went to destroy the prints?

Ah so the rewritten ending is that the sun and rain knights don’t lose their powers, but combine to create a new power of rainbow? Also mlm on screen kiss but it’s not between real characters. Fair enough, I don’t think this is an appropriate time for a marcnath kiss

There’s something to be said about how wlw relationships are seen as less threatening than mlm in media like girls kissing can be brushed off as cutesy but boys kissing is seen as a weird kink thing, like how the dad was saying mlm romance isn’t deep and sentimental unlike straight romance. In TV-Y7 cartoons in general there have been a good handful of iconic canon wlw moments, but I can’t think of any mlm equivalents other than minor side characters that barely do anything or like, older men who are also background characters and have no romantic subplot because they’re long time partners. In this show they’ve created an in-universe justification for why Marc and Nath are less open about their relationship, but they still continue to be censored far more heavily than Julerose, Zoe, or Caline and Giselle.

REVEAL Nath was gonna be bisexual but not eat hot chip nor lie. This will soooo come back later. When Nino did it, it didn’t exactly have humongous consequences? I mean kind of but not in any way that endangered him nor Alya. That’s what I was saying earlier that Nino and Nath value their relationships more than being a hero. The trouble here is that Lila is being really ominous about Nath, he has a track record of impulsively doing bad things, and he’s recklessly transformed a couple times in this ep alone, so this is… concerning but also cute? And since the comic represents them, instead of giving up their powers after a reveal they’re gonna combine them and make them stronger?

People have been saying there’s gonna be a Myvan one too because of the intro and yeah I agree. Probably even more, like I can’t imagine Luka and Juleka can hide it for long. Marinette will realize that nobody thinks lying to their friends and partners is sustainable. She values being a hero over her relationship because she feels responsible for everything. Like she can’t just quit her job and get replaced at this point, she needs to protect the whole city/world and to her, that’s bigger than her personal life.

Interesting that they’re obscuring Marc’s transformation. Does that suggest his episode is after this? It’s not like it’s a spoiler, we already know what he looks like. Dramatic effect ig. Marc was generally very mature throughout this ep tho, and he jumped into the fight to protect Nath, so idk maybe it came first

Lila already knows who most of the heroes are, but not them. There’s a good chance she will find out and use it against them in the endgame. She does know about Alya and Nino. I predicted after Daddycop that Sabrina might fly under her radar the longest and be key in tricking her a second time.

Important edit: I just noticed the spiderverse-esque comic book effects in his transformation sequence, that’s actually sick. It’s so blink and you’ll miss it and by god I missed it the first time. Nathaniel Kuntzerve or whatever his name is. The goat, like literally

Project Eden’s Garden Imitation/Echo Art + Animal Symbolism Analysis Pt. 1

(With some predictions and theories thrown in?)

I have multiple PEG posts in my drafts that I never posted because I yapped to hard including one from when the prologue came out. Anyway. This one’s fr. I started with the characters I’m more confident about and have more interesting things to say for. Spoilers for up through chapter 1.

Cassidy: a decision

Something that really struck me about Cassidy is how inappropriately she reacts to disturbing situations. We’re used to DR having goofy comic relief characters who physically can’t take anything seriously, but with the overall more realistic tone and characterization in PEG, her behavior is actually… pretty weird. Cracking jokes right after a murder and during a trial in which you either sentence the correct person to death or get executed yourself? Then watching that execution? Everyone else was freaking tf out.

I think these arts might be referencing this characteristic of hers. In the imitation art she has no mouth and dead eyes, an emotionless blank slate staring at herself. In the echo, we see her “broken” into pieces which all show different emotions, and the most obvious shards are the neutral and literally dead ones. I believe she may have mental issues that prevent her from responding to things with the “correct” emotions, maybe a personality disorder and/or PTSD. “I am a decision” would mean that the way she presents herself is manually chosen and performed, not a natural reaction. It could also be that she’s just really good at hiding her true feelings, but she’s in a pretty extreme situation right now and hasn’t cracked yet.

If there’s gonna be a scary jumpscare face trope character in this game, I predict it will be her. In fact, I think she’ll be a late game death, like ch4 or 5. She strikes me as important, with a loud personality and an entertaining, comedic factor. That comedy could easily be turned unnerving when she continues being too chill after murders, and her attempts at jokes fall flat, the others starting to get uncomfortable.

I’ve seen other people interpret her mouth missing or being covered up as her failing to speak out about something that happened, like she witnessed or experienced something bad but kept quiet about it, and it’s causing her emotional turmoil. Her being a “decision” means her inaction is defining who she is. I think that’s a good take, too.

Spiders are used in both arts for the horror factor. The obvious animal connection is that she lives on the web = chronically online and makes a living off of internet content. The echo art has the broken glass obviously look like a spider web, maybe saying that she’s a complex web of interwoven emotions. The black widow specifically and her red hair + dark clothes bring to mind the association of black widows with sinister things like poison, danger, and heartless killing for your own gain. But she seems so wholesome! I’m sure the animal symbolism will become clearer later.

I’m interested if her blackmail’s true meaning is something dark or if it’s really just silly and petty. Maybe she tried to sell her own line of mr beast feastables and gave a bunch of people food poisoning. Maybe she’s a girl scout and embarrassed about it idk.

Jett: a mistake

Ok guys I have an insane theory, hear me out. The obvious interpretation here is that he simply messed himself up badly by getting into a car crash, his big mistake. I’ve seen theories going around that maybe he accidentally killed someone else in that crash. WHAT IF… he killed the previous Ultimate Drag Racer during a competition and the title got reassigned to Jett, who used to be the #2 best racer. This art is giving me huge “I’ve won, but at what cost?” vibes. I think the portrayal of Jett as childlike may support that, with his sleeves covering his hands. He wasn’t ready to become the Ultimate yet, and he was just an innocent kid who screwed up big time. “Here lies” could refer to the person he killed rather than his old pre-accident self and “confess” implies guilt. With this theory, “I am a mistake” means “me having the Ultimate title is a mistake because the deserving holder should still be alive”.

The more straightforward interpretation is that he just sees himself as a fuckup who is defined by this one mistake he made and is just mourning who he was before the accident since the face in the trophy is probably also him. I guess what I just said could apply to my initial theory as well as the scenario where the crash was simply a serious accident with nothing else to it.

It’s tough to think of what coyotes represent, but something that comes to mind is the trickster idea as well as coyote’s calls being mistaken for humans or other animals. I’m getting some sort of impostor energy here one way or another.

A prediction I have is that Jett will be killed (mid-game), and the killer will use his suit to make it look like he was still alive later by wearing it or propping it up. In ch1, Tozu omitted the cause of death to make the case more fair for the killer. In this case, he may omit the time of death since hiding it was part of the killer’s plan. This scenario flips the impostor idea back on him ironically. PLUS I’m convinced the Fregoli delusion poster is foreshadowing something.

The biggest plot twist to me is that Jett has eyebrows according to Nifast. I thought they would’ve been permanently scorched off, but I guess not! Surely we’re getting a face reveal for him eventually/if/when he dies, right?

Eloise: a hunt; Desmond: a key

Pairing these two because they’re clearly connected. The desloise. They’re in the same field during day and night, and the colors of the drawings are inverted.

I’m not sure if they’re foreshadowing a case or referencing their backstories, but either way, I think they may be following the same idea which I’m gonna explain. Desmond and Eloise might know each other before the death game, maybe from competing in the Olympics. It’s possible something happened there that stopped Desmond from competing again.

For a prediction as to what will happen in a future chapter, Eloise may kill someone and Desmond will frame himself for it. Perhaps Eloise will kill someone suspecting that they intended to target her first, and maybe she’ll be tragically wrong. She describes herself as a hunt. The imitation art implies that she is the one chasing herself, maybe meaning that her own paranoia will drive her, afraid, to do something she normally wouldn’t.

Desmond’s art is at night, showing a passage of time since Eloise’s. Him being a “key” might mean he’s the key to Eloise escaping. The grey guy figures are impaling themselves in the process of sacrificing him, which might refer to how the other ultimates would be killing themselves as well by wrongfully executing him. His sad smile could show that he feels like his death is for a good cause. If this theory is true, then the plan wouldn’t succeed because Damon and co would figure out the truth, so Eloise would die and Desmond would survive. During the prologue I had Desmond on my survivor predictions, but now I’m not so sure, and if he shows that he’s okay with getting killed he may be a victim target.

What I was saying earlier is that maybe their backstory follows a similar idea where Eloise did something bad like hurt someone and Desmond tried to shift the blame onto himself to protect her. He could have used his family’s wealth and status to lessen the consequences and create a coverup so he could say he just decided the Olympics weren’t worth his energy anymore.

Their animals are the swan and shark, and I’m seeing the inversion angle of swans having an innocent reputation but being dangerous, and sharks having a dangerous reputation but being innocent.

Ulysses: a sacrifice

His health problems are destroying him. He has to remind himself to eat, sleep, breathe, feel, shower, and remember. I saw someone on Reddit say the reference image for the statue body is of a god of medicine. I feel like the image itself is pretty obvious in what it’s saying, that he’s rotting and crumbling.

I predict he will be a killer in an early chapter, maybe 2. Maybe he doesn’t have access to the medication or care he needs during the death game which causes him to get worse. He may do something similar to SDR2 ch 4 where he decides to kill or die to save everyone else, hence him being a sacrifice. He may feel like he has nothing to lose if his health will quickly begin to decline. Maybe everyone will be shaken after ch1 and trying to follow Diana’s optimistic lead, none of them cast out from the group like Eva was so they don’t want to continue the game. Then, Tozu will introduce a motive where there has to be a murder or else everyone dies.

I’m saying killer over victim because I think it’d make for a more interesting case. There’s the detail about his sense of smell missing, and I think a case where the killer doesn’t even remember his own actions could be really neat and would make him sound more innocent, but could also cause him to slip up in his words. The notebook would also be an interesting element. Plus he’s a historian, the art shows him as a classical marble statue, and his birthday is the ides of March. Cmon you guys, Julius Caesar themed execution, it’s right there.

The owl might be the most obvious animal symbolism of them all. They’re associated with academia or knowledge, and he wears round glasses and is “nocturnal”. His sacrifice could also refer to him sacrificing his health for his work.

Grace: a friend

This one is just so cute and wholesome compared to all the others except maybe Damon’s. Grace’s standoffish attitude makes it hard for her to make friends, and she’s lonely. She’s projecting the idea of girls she finds cool onto herself, wishing she was their friend.

The bunny ears look like a halo that brings an innocent energy to Grace. Other than being horny *cough* um rabbits are associated with harmlessness and maybe even helplessness. Grace’s aggressive behavior is probably her overcompensating for feeling like an outcast, and she may develop to be a sweeter person.

I’m seeing her surviving to the end or at least making it far. Having zero FTE so far is a green flag. Her wanting to be friends with Diana in particular may indicate she’s going to become a Diana follower and eat up her leadership. She might be drawn to Diana’s respect for Wolfgang, and if everyone else thinks Diana is weird for going on about hope in response to what happened, she may be drawn to her due to just being a contrarian. Diana might teach her to be a more loving person.

Mark: a choice

Like many other people, I’m getting the sense that these are referring to a suicide attempt rather than an accident or physical illness. The Truman show looking room with the white void makes it look like he was on death’s doorstep. In general, Mark has been acting detached and disinterested in everything. There’s even a moment where Damon thinks he’s strange for not putting enough effort into solving the case, knowing that he’ll die if he doesn’t. He doesn’t give himself credit for his own music even though it earned him an ultimate title and he doesn’t really get involved with his own friends even though he wants to be part of their group.

I see him as a survivor because he has so much potential for character development and developing a suicidal character into getting better only to kill him off would be tragic in an unsatisfying way, but maybe that will be the point. He’s giving me Luigi wins by doing nothing energy though. And if the team wants to defy DR tropes they can have the musician character not be doomed.

The cat is giving me Celes vibes, like if Tozu threatens those close to the ultimates as a motive he might threaten the cat, who might be an emotional support animal, instead of a person. She seems to be making him feel better.

“I am a choice” here would refer to him choosing to keep living. It’s interesting that his phrase is so similar to Cassidy’s “decision” yet can be interpreted so differently. As for animal symbolism, the only thing that really stands out to me is that alligators are silent but always watching. Perhaps he will witness something important without the killer even realizing he’s there. Alligators are also associated with danger, but predator animals can’t possibly mean “they’re the killer” every time. Maybe the symbolism will become more obvious later, like he’ll snap suddenly but then go back to being quiet afterwards.

Ok continuing the thought about Grace and Diana, Diana may be important to Mark’s development as well as a source of hope. I’ve seen some people point out that Grace and Mark are perhaps the only characters other than Damon and Eva to have biblical names and there might be something to that. I think Diana may end up being a sort of Christ figure in the game (with Damon as her opposition) and will build a little following of people who need to hear her preach about hope and trust and love during scary times. I’ll talk about her more in the next post, but I expect she’ll build some unique relationships with other characters.

I haven’t replayed or talked about YTTD in forever but I can’t stop thinking about how Mai, despite being a baker with a dessert pastry character design vibe, canonically fucking loves vegetables. Her favorite foods are vegetable dishes. That’s so real and iconic. I genuinely feel represented by her. I’m so tired of all the anti-veggie propaganda in fiction where characters are written to love junk food, dessert, and meat in an attempt to be relatable. Big day for annoying people (me)

The two new eps of ML were good? Like wow it’s been great so far except ep 3 was comparatively a flop imo. Werepapas was so, idk, enticing lore-wise but I don’t have much to say that other people haven’t except that they’re clearly NOT neglecting past plot points, making the tone too silly goofy all the time, nor retconning important stuff like some people worried they would. We have been FED. I’m sure Felix is involved in that ring bs somehow, but idk if his intentions are pure or not.

Warning for the only salty thing I’m gonna say on this post: I’m so tired of going into the fandom tag and seeing people whining about “bad writing” problems that literally never happened based entirely on their own incorrect predictions they made up to make themselves mad. Ugh anyway. This post is gonna be about small details I latched onto in Daddycop!

We got to see glimpses of Sabrina and Max’s rooms this ep! Max’s room looks like a Star Trek spaceship but the books on his bookshelf are kinda giving those reference books at the library of like, archived government documents or research papers iykwim whereas the books in Alya’s room look like manga. An interesting thing I noticed in Sabrina’s room is that she has a line of framed certificates on the wall, maybe academic awards or something similar

Did they ever say if Markov can see Kaalki or not? I’m sure they will eventually but idk which option I like better. It’d be cute if they were friends but it’d be pretty funny if he had to watch Max talk to the secret floating ghost who lives with them now and not question it

Between eps 2 and 4 I’m getting the sense that Sabrina uses Miss Hound as an escape kinda like CN where she feels like she can become instantly likeable, trustworthy, helpful, and useful through the inherent credibility of being a superhero. She has anonymity, can sort of start over on a blank slate, and is automatically implied to be a good person since Ladybug entrusted her. I’m guessing we’re gonna see more of that blank slate idea with other characters and what they’ll do with it, but it’s telling that Sabrina decides to transform to resolve people’s minor inconveniences, especially when she’s feeling bad about herself. It’s like she’s proving a point to herself but also giving herself something productive to do.

The GIRLS Ahhhhh let’s go lesbians

Noticing a clear absence of Alix. Ik the special implied she has to keep hiding in the burrow from Lila but she’s all normal-looking in the intro and they can’t shelve her forever. I feel like something is gonna change to make her be able to return.

Ok last season they seem to have established that Sabrina became friends with Marc and Nathaniel who were both explicit Sabrina Supporters since their akuma episodes, so it feels sort of convenient that they were written out of the narrative for this ep. I do see the whole Girl Squad thing and how she feels excluded when all the girls in the group hang out together without her, doing traditional girl things like movie night sleepovers, so I do think it’s totally valid. Her having absolutely zero friends is hyperbolized though.

On that note I have to wonder if the school might have several lunch periods because none of the male characters expect Adrien and Nino were there. Or maybe they just stage the scene with whoever is convenient. They might have flexible lunch schedules and all the other characters are off somewhere else.

Rose mentioned a girl whose name I didn’t recognize and after rewinding i can’t tell what she said. Aglie? New character? Maybe she’s that black girl with pink hair who was sitting with Adrien, Nino, and Sublime at lunch

The pacing of these episodes has been satisfying compared to previous seasons, especially 5. They aren’t trying to shove too much in, but there’s still a lot happening and fiiiinally a nice mix of plot and fighting. I was getting irritated by how rushed a lot of the fights were last season like might as well just not have them at all
