They actually make physical media for a much larger percentage of movies than they ever did in the past. Often with a lot more care than any small release was treated in the early dvd days. Its just if you only watch streaming stuff or the big new recent box office hits you won't see that. It is so ridiculously easy to get physical media for movies that even 5 years ago you couldn't even find. Like yes Netflix is a stingy bastard but so many things are available on disc WITH special features than ever before

Get yourself a fabric store that will light your fabric on fire for you
No but legit I asked what the fiber content of something was and the guy didn’t know so he cut a chunk off and lit it on fire and felt the ashes and was like. Yeah this is mostly cotton with a lil bit of silk. And that was the moment I knew. This is it. This is the fabric store for me. Also that guy is marriage material. Not for me but damn some person is gonna be so happy with him.

I feel like Spotify's most notable trait is how they barely pay their artists at all, so start a music library. Buy and/or download the songs you like, stick them in and app like iTunes or MusicBee and boom! They're right there on your hard drive and they'll never get region-locked or delisted and you'll never have to hear an ad when listening to it ever.
What are you paying monthly for Spotify? Make that your monthly music budget to buy from Bandcamp or what have you. Then the songs are yours to keep and the artists actually get a substantial cut (at least by comparison).
Maybe you can't afford a bunch right away - that's fine! Build your early library from old CDs or YouTube rips or whatever so you've got stuff to listen to. Giant Record Companies hosting already-millionaire artists don't need your money anyway.
Seriously you can do it. If you could make all your Spotify playlists you can make a music library. Unless you've just been listening to those algorithmically generated playlists, in which case I guess you and Spotify deserve each other.

Fuck Nintendo here how to emulate every FE game pre-Switch :
FE1-2 : https://www.mesen.ca/ for the NES emulator, https://www.romhacking.net/translations/6087/ FE1 EN fantranslation, https://forums.serenesforest.net/topic/97653-fe-gaiden-updated-namesfont-patch/ FE2 fantranslation It the NES, your computer can emulate it trust me
FE3-4-5 https://www.snes9x.com/ for the SNES emulator https://www.romhacking.net/games/303/, for the FE3 fantranslation (note that it use the European names) https://forums.serenesforest.net/topic/63676-fe4-translation-patch-open-beta-v7/ for the FE4 fantranslation, https://feuniverse.us/t/fe4-complete-fire-emblem-genealogy-of-the-holy-war-spanish-translation/27551 for the spanish fan translation https://forums.serenesforest.net/topic/90189-fe5-lil-manster-%E2%80%93-translation-and-quality-of-life-patch-for-thracia-776/, for the FE5 fantranslation. There is also a completed spanish version SNES9x was first released in 20th century, your computer can run it
FE6-7-8 https://mgba.io/ for the GBA emulator https://forums.serenesforest.net/topic/41095-fe6-localization-patch-v121-full-localization-with-new-features-including-support-conversation-reader/ for the FE6 fantranslation You can run mgba trust me again
FE9-10 https://dolphin-emu.org/ for the Gamecube/Wii emulator Dolphin is more demanding (but still very resonable), especially if you want to run the games on higher resolution. I recommend checking out the recommend specs and trying it out on your machine
FE11-12 Either DeSmuME or MelonDS for the DS emulator. MelonDS run better but require firmware files https://github.com/R-YaTian/DSiEnhanced_Translation_Revision/tree/main/FE12 for the FE12 fantranslation
3DS games Citra was an accidental victim of Yuzu going down so your best bet is to grab it from one of it fork, like here https://github.com/PabloMK7/citra. It require a strong computer to run it, and my experience is that it doesn't run the FE games very well. Another option is to simply hack your 3DS if you have one
For obvious reason I can't link the roms themself but they are easy to find, like on a certain subreddit that start with R
.

I am such a huge horse nerd and I apologize. :( But I’m really tired of seeing girths that are halfway down a horse’s stomach. This may not be interesting to anyone who is not me, but I like to draw fancy saddles and ridiculously long shanks on bits. Also, horses are the only animal I can draw, so I take advantage of that.
I hope this helps some frustrated non-horsey artists in at least some small way. Remember, when in doubt, add some buckles and some rings. :)

Just to make a point, every time I finished a panel of this I would export it as a PNG on the perceptual setting and use it as a color reference for the next panel
IT'S BAD
PLEASE CHECK YOUR COLOR SETTINGS
EDIT: If you're still having problems, it might help to switch from "Save/Save as" to "Export (as a) Single Layer". Just. Make SURE the box labeled "Expression Color" is set to RGB. I've been messing with this all day, and it looks like this combination of settings will allow exported PNGs to maintain their colors perfectly. To you. So far both Discord and Toyhouse still only display desaturated images and I cannot for the life of me figure out why

>First, we’ve discovered that about a quarter of all the internet connection in or out of the house were ad related. In a few hours, that’s about 10,000 out of 40,000 processed.
>We also discovered that every link on Twitter was blocked. This was solved by whitelisting the https://t.co domain.
>Once out browsing the Web, everything is loading pretty much instantly. It turns out most of that Page Loading malarkey we’ve been accustomed to is related to sites running auctions to sell Ad space to show you before the page loads. All gone now.
>We then found that the Samsung TV (which I really like) is very fond of yapping all about itself to Samsung HQ. All stopped now. No sign of any breakages in its function, so I’m happy enough with that.
>The primary source of distress came from the habitual Lemmings player in the house, who found they could no longer watch ads to build up their in-app gold. A workaround is being considered for this.
>The next ambition is to advance the Ad blocking so that it seamlessly removed YouTube Ads. This is the subject of ongoing research, and tinkering continues. All in all, a very successful experiment.
>Certainly this exceeds my equivalent childhood project of disassembling and assembling our rotary dial telephone. A project whose only utility was finding out how to make the phone ring when nobody was calling.
Tumblr media
>Update: All4 on the telly appears not to have any ads any more. Goodbye Arnold Clarke!
Tumblr media
>Lemmings problem now solved.
>Can confirm, after small tests, that RTÉ Player ads are now gone and the player on the phone is now just delivering swift, ad free streams at first click.
>Some queries along the lines of “Are you not stealing the internet?” Firstly, this is my network, so I may set it up as I please (or, you know, my son can do it and I can give him a stupid thumbs up in response). But there is a wider question, based on the ads=internet model.
>I’m afraid I passed the You Wouldn’t Download A Car point back when I first installed ad-blocking plug-ins on a browser. But consider my chatty TV. Individual consumer choice is not the method of addressing pervasive commercial surveillance.
>Should I feel morally obliged not to mute the TV when the ads come on? No, this is a standing tension- a clash of interests. But I think my interest in my family not being under intrusive or covert surveillance at home is superior to the ad company’s wish to profile them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
>Aside: 24 hours of Pi Hole stats suggests that Samsung TVs are very chatty. 14,170 chats a day.
>YouTube blocking seems difficult, as the ads usually come from the same domain as the videos. Haven’t tried it, but all of the content can also be delivered from a no-cookies version of the YouTube domain, which doesn’t have the ads. I have asked my son to poke at that idea.
