Report: Mass Effect Andromeda To Feature 'Meaningful' Side Quests Similar To The Witcher
In a recent interview with PC Gamer, Mass Effect Andromeda producer Fabrice Condominas delved into how BioWare is approaching side quests, and how it's taking inspiration from CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Condominas explained that the BioWare team listened to the criticism they received regarding the tedious side quests in Dragon Age: Inquisition. Condominas dubs the issue as the "Hinterlands problem," where players are forced to grind through unsatisfying side content in order to progress.
With Mass Effect Andromeda, Condominas explains that BioWare has learned from its missteps and is making a push for more "meaningful" side content.
"We are approaching the completionist aspect very differently, because we've done and learned a lot from Inquisition," Condominas told PC Gamer. "But we've also observed what other games have been doing, like The Witcher."

Our Take
As much as I love Dragon Age: Inquisition, the meager and tedious side quests often felt frustratingly boring in comparison to the engaging main narrative. A push for more meaningful content is never a bad thing, and The Witcher 3 is an exemplary model of how side content can be just as meaningful as the main story. BioWare has a great reputation of building fascinating characters, and I hope they will shine in these quests.

Splatoon 2 Global Testfire Demo Arrives This March On Nintendo Switch
Nintendo announced today that a free demo is on its way for Splatoon 2, where players can test our the ink-filled online combat months before the game launches this summer. This will be similar to the previous global testfire for the first Splatoon, where the event takes place during specific dates and times.
The global testfire event will begin on March 24 and conclude on the 26th. Check below to see the schedule:

EA Punishes Madden NFL Champion For 'Inappropriate' Social Media Conduct
After defeating all comers at the recent Madden Bowl 2017 tournament finals, Chris "Dubby" McFarland had a $75,000 paycheck under his belt. But after a string of "inappropriate" conduct on social media, EA has docked McFarland's payout and lowered his competitive ranking.
As Polygon reports, McFarland made a series of objectionable tweets (which have since been removed) on his personal account following his victory. EA met with McFarland and warned him about making more inappropriate tweets – a warning McFarland did not heed. After McFarland made additional offensive tweets, the Madden publisher decided to take action, cutting $3,000 from McFarland's winnings and removing 100 Madden NFL Championship Points from online ranking (according to EA Sports' website, the current highest-ranked player in Madden as of December has 1000 points). "These posts violated our Code of Conduct and don't represent the values of our organization," Matt Marcou, Madden's Competitive Gaming Commissioner, said in a statement.
McFarland's reaction to his punishment has since been mixed. Though he's deleted the offending tweets, promised his tweets from now on would be "dry as a dessert," and that, as champioin his tweets reflected poorly on him and EA by association, he's also made a point that it's not something he's happy about. "Today is the day the real Dubby dies. Feel free to unfollow." he posted.

Our Take
$3,000 and a some ranking points feel like a slap on the wrist, but hey, that's still $3,000. Still, it's a matter of principle, and I agree with EA's decision here. Some may cry foul about the role someone's social media should or should not play in competitions like this, but EA warned him, which makes it hard to empathize with McFarland. I wonder if second place is hoping for a $3,000 windfall now?

So we want to know: what's your favorite side quest? Mine is probably the "Anju's Anguish" side quest from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's mask. It's an elaborate, twisting quest designed around the game's three-day cycle. You probably won't be able to unfurl it the first time you see it poking out and calling to you, as it requires items from other parts of the game to complete in full. But when you finally put it all together, and manage to get execute it within a single cycle, it not only offers the best exploration of the game's most divisive concept, but also a tender love story that's perfectly in line with the game's sad tone.

Resident Evil CG Film Vendetta Out This Summer
Announced last year, The Resident Evil: Vendetta CG film has a somewhat murky release date in the US. Summer 2017.
The CG film, which sees series protagonists Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield join forces in order to stop a Glenn Arias, a "merchant of death" spreading a new strain of Zombie virus that can seperate friend from foe, is the third in the animated film series (after Resident Evil: Degeneration and Resident Evil: Damnation). Shark Tank startup LuminAID's new device brings power to Syrian refugees
