ACE MARKEY - DANGANRONPA DESPAIR TIME

reasoning: Canonically gay (Creators confirmed it on their Tumblr), extremely loud and dramatic, and spends the entire time butting heads with a muscular dude (whom he cuts ties with in the most dramatic fashion possible and literally walks to his own death to keep him alive) and also a nonbinary pet therapist with so many parallels to him that the enemies-to-lovers arc writes itself. Also both of them? Their main colors are his favorite colors. I call him one on the regular just for that alone.

Sooooo few people are actually willing to defend the basic human rights of people who have committed crimes. Like I know it's not fun but if you genuinely believe in human rights as a concept you can't be okay with the state violating them in prisons I'm sorrrrry. Having moral principles is not always a fun time.

do u/have u worked on any fangans? how was it? im considering making one

I have! Since fucking 2018! That's how I was kind of introduced to fangans at large and how I've become so knowledgeable about fangan inner workings and how to recognize when a fangan is going to be good or not! Now if u ask me if I have any fangans. I have some concepts, but none that have gotten too far simply because I'm a very messy guys, so I like coming up with concepts and then never work on them past the conceptualizing step, because I get another idea and then I work on that and I leave the other idea in the dust and the cycle repeats. But who knows, maybe some day I will get a fangan out there and nobody will know and I will get tons of fanart of my characters oiled up naked.

It was okay for the most part! Aside from one specific case I've talked about before, I've had a good time helping on some projects, although it would be a given considering I was working for my close friends' projects. And although some things have happened that have halted the progress, I'd rather work for something I know was going to be fun rather than a project with zero heart in it. It's also why I am not helping with any other fangan in the future.

Now, if you'd like some advice from me. It's really important to have grandiose ideas, but also to remember that not everything can be achieved. Maybe you want your fangan to be a game but you don't have coding experience or money to hire a coder. Maybe you want to make visuals but lack in artist experience and funds. You have to make some compromises sometimes, and that's okay! As much as it is a shame, most popular fangans are just popular because they have pretty visuals and good initial concepts, but once the years go by and more is released, you can tell that there is not a lot to take from it at the end of the day. You can take a certain one as a prime example of it.

So write from the heart and push your limitations to the limit. A good story will always be one that can embrace you in it's prose and make you feel for what happens in it, regardless of its medium. We were given the gift of creation as humans for a reason.
