little leviace..... wedding fic..... to balance the angst....

A/N - That's such a cute ideaaaaa!! Thanks for the requestttt. I’ve never been to a wedding ever so please excuse my illiteracy about the topic ghrugheruhf

Summary - Ace and Levi (finally) get married.

February First was a day that was circled in red on the calendar. Because that day in particular was Levi and Ace’s wedding. After many years, one of them had asked the question, and now their wedding was taking place. The ceremony had started a bit ago, but now Nico was helping Ace get rid of his last-minute panic. Nico and Ace actually got along pretty well when they weren’t being put against each other in a game of life or death. So that’s why Nico was Ace’s attendant of honor.

But regardless of that, Ace was clearly anxious about the vows just barely half an hour away.

“Y-You have no reason to be worried, Ace.” Nico said and helped unwrinkle the top Ace was wearing. “L-Levi loves you, you know, no matter how this goes. It’s silly to think otherwise.” They added. Nico’s brutal honesty seemed to be comforting in this scenario, clearly calming Ace a bit.

“Yeah–” Ace muttered, “Yeah! You’re right!” He said and smiled. Everyone was pretty dressed up for the wedding. Though the wedding itself was pretty low key. Everyone just brought out their Sunday's best and got to the hall on time for the ceremony, not much else. Nico was wearing a gray dress that went just past their knees. Eden and Whit had planned everyone's outfits for the wedding, because of course they did.

“S-So, are you ready to go?” Nico asked and tilted their head. Ace nodded with a new found confidence. “Mhm!” Ace agreed. Nico smiled and the two of them exit the dressing room.

“Levi, just know, if you trip and fall while walking down the aisle I will laugh my ass off and point at you.” David said bluntly and stood off to the side in the dressing room as Levi messed around with the suit jacket he was wearing. “I appreciate the concerns. I’ll be mindful of the floor.” Levi said in response, taking it as constructive criticism.

“Quiet, David.” Hu scolded. It was just the three of them waiting before going out for the ceremony.

“What? I was just saying.” David replied and smiled smugly.

“Do you think everything will go well?” Levi asked suddenly. Hu and David seemed somewhat surprised by the question. “Oh honey,” Hu went and put her arm around Levi in a comforting manner, “Of course it will.” She said, “Pfft, don’t be stupid. Ace loves you, yada yada yada, you’ll be fine.” David said offhandedly. “But if he ditches you at the altar, I will laugh. Hard.” He added, patting Levi on the shoulder. Levi hesitated for a moment, before smiling. This was his wedding after all. It was only natural to be worried. But even then, something told Levi everything was going to be perfect, no matter what.

The ceremony was going well. It was an outdoor wedding, set up on a nice sunny day. Perfect for a wedding. Also Whit was officiating their marriage for some reason?? He said something about how he had a lot of free time and you can do almost anything on the internet. So they figured ‘why not?’ and now Whit was their officiant.

Hu was Levi’s best woman, and it was obvious that she was barely holding it together. She was so so happy for her friends that she was sniffling and crying through the whole thing before anything had really started. She was trying her best to hold it back though for the sake of not making a scene.

In the front two rows were the groomsmen and the bridesmaids. Eden, David, and Hu were Levi’s ‘groomsmen’ while Nico, Arei, Rose were Ace’s bridesmaids. Neither of Ace nor Levi’s families were attending. And neither of them minded. The only people there were their close friends. Which made the wedding more comfortable than ‘professional’ which felt considerably better.

Nico scurried over and sat down in the front row where the bridesmaids sat. Nico gave the final thumbs up to Whit that Ace was in the clear. Which was then followed by David, who gave Whit a vague nod before plopping down into his assigned seat in the front row.

“Alrighty, it’s about time for the groom to walk up. Charles, hit the music please!~” Whit said in a bit of a sing-song voice and smiled over at Charles, who was in the corner of the room. There was a small set of speakers there to play the atmospheric wedding music. Charles clicked a button that was supposed to lead to the classic sort of wedding music starting to play but instead of such thing… a Nightcore Remix of Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley started playing. There was a moment where everyone in the room was silent for a solid few seconds.

“Arei!” Charles called out through slightly gritted teeth, “Did you switch the playlists?” He questioned. There was only one person in that room who listened to Nightcore and it was Arei Nageishi.

“Maayybbeee!~” She said tauntingly and smiled ear-to-ear, clearly thinking it was the funniest thing ever. “Woah. Kinda catchy, not gonna lie…” Whit murmured as the lyrics continued playing.

“Am I supposed to walk up now?” Levi asked and poked his head out of the entrance door, clearly confused about what to do. The whole thing was outside, but the door was a sort of gate-like structure.

“Ehh sure, I mean the song could be worse. And we gotta stay on schedule, c’mon up, Levi.” Whit said and shrugged, gesturing to Levi to walk up. Charles just sighed in frustration as he desperately tried to change the music. Levi just smiled, clearly happy and satisfied that he actually was at his own wedding, not bothered at all by the music choice. “Alrighty, so the groom is here.” Whit said and smiled at Levi, who smiled back. The sun slightly glistened in the corner of Levi’s eye. It was still morning for their wedding, so the sun was still rising. It gave the whole scene a slightly orange-yellow filter to it. Hu blew her nose pretty loudly as tears were streaming down her face, “So proud of you honey!” Hu called out as the tears continued to fall, and her lip was trembling. David vaguely pat her on the shoulder to try and help her, but it wasn’t exactly doing much.

“Hu, David- that’s our cue to walk up!” Eden whisper-shouted and took Hu’s hand, bringing her up to where they were supposed to stand by Levi, David following soon after. Hu was having trouble thinking- simply because of how her mind was clouded by her heavy pearl-like tears.

And now, finally, Charles had found the correct soundtrack, and started playing the classic Here Comes The Bride. Levi slightly perked up at that, and looked over at the entrance he had gone through.

The door-like gate clicked open, and out stepped Ace. He was blushing quite a bit, but had a shaky smile on his face. Despite his convoluted emotions, he knew that above all that this is what he wanted. This future is what he desired– the one that he got to choose for himself.

Ace began to walk down the aisle, trying really hard to not trip over himself at all. He stepped up to the altar, and smiled happily at his spouse.

Suddenly, everything felt very… real to Levi. Seeing Ace standing in front of him, with that expression on his face, dressed like that, smiling at him– just for him. It felt so real. The whole wedding had just been a good excuse for everyone to get together and have fun up until that point, but now that Ace was standing there… the weight of the situation stabbed into Levi’s heart. And he knew that this is what he wanted more than anything.

He never was the best at processing emotions. So, the feelings he received from seeing Ace like this, from seeing this day, and knowing that the future he had imagined was real, quickly overwhelmed him. He felt clean tears dance at the edge of his eyes as his lip slightly trembled. Levi scolded himself, telling himself to keep it together. He couldn’t contain a smile as the tears of pure joy threatened to fall.

Practically the same could be said for Ace. He loved Levi. More than anything. And being able to express that through the wedding was so lovely. Ace had been sketching the name ‘Ace Fontana’ on random pieces of paper to try and express that. So this being real… it was great. So so great.

“Alright, we’re all here. No dramatic runaway bride scene?” Whit asked quietly and smiled before laughing. Ace and Levi stared at each other.

“Hey,” Ace said in a whispered tone, like the world would end if anyone but Levi heard him say it.

“Hello,” Levi replied. The words were simple. Oh so simple. But the worth and value behind the words were immeasurable- practically beyond words. Whit took a step back and opened a big book and began to read from it,

“We gather here today to celebrate our best of buds, Levi Fontana and Ace Markey, and their relationship together.” Whit began, clearly going off script very fast, though he was fighting practicing his stand up comedy routine up there. “This wedding has been a looong time coming, so let’s not keep you two waiting any longer, yeah?” Whit said and chuckled.

Hu was still crying, though she tried to be as quiet as possible. Eden pat her on the shoulder to try and get her to calm down. Nico was smiling softly. Whit was right about this being a long time coming. Literally everyone knew they were going to get married before either of the two of them did. But what mattered by that point was that they had gotten there, eventually at least. “Let’s start with the vows. Levi?” Whit said and looked over at Levi. Who smiled, ready to say what he wanted to say. “Right,” Levi began. He reached forward and held Ace’s hands. “Ace, I… Uh…” Levi had prepared so many things to say in his mind that he wasn’t sure how to go about it. “There’s so many things I wanted to say to you. But I think that you already know it all. But I’m going to say it regardless, you deserve to hear it again.” He said and chuckled. “You make everything feel like how it’s supposed to. Like the world could be on fire, and everything would be okay as long as you were there. Or… something like that.” Levi tried to explain and blushed a bit. “You’re my everything. Nothing can ever change that. Sometimes it feels like you and I are the only people in the entire universe. I love you, Ace. And I love you more every day that passes. Now and forever.” He said, his words uneven as he tried to find a way to explain his feelings. “Leeviiii,” Ace said, clearly touched by that. Unconditional love was never something that Ace got. Not up until he had met Levi. And it was everything more than he had hoped. “Well isn’t that just the sweetest?” Whit chimed in. “Thank you, Levi, but try not to give everyone in the room diabetes with how sweet you are.” He said and pat Levi on the shoulder. Ace chuckled at that.

“Alright, listen up, it’s my turn to give the vows now, right??” Ace questioned. “Yep, go on ahead.” Whit just barely said the sentence before Ace was already going on.

“Okay, so pay attention! Levi Fontana, you are my absolutely one and only– and you’d better not ever think otherwise! You make everything better when you’re there, and that’s just the truth.” Ace began and crossed his arms, getting really into it. Ace didn’t even hesitate, saying exactly what he wanted to say on a whim. “And I promise that I will always do my best to show you the love I have for you. ‘Cause you’re not just my spouse or whatever the word is– you’re also my best friend! And I’ll always be there for you. I want to be there for your whole life. Always.” Ace said. Once he finished speaking, his face became slightly tinted with a soft pink blush. “A-And don’t forget it!” He added in a flustered manner. The warm sort of feeling in Levi’s heart increased tenfold at that. “Alrighty, alrighty, good job, both of you.” Whit continued, “You may kiss the bride.” Whit proclaimed and took a step back, allowing the two some space.

Ace got onto the tip of his toes and Levi had to bend down a little bit to be around the same height. Ace knew that this is what he wanted, and the same was easily said for Levi. Ace wrapped his arms around Levi’s neck for a moment as the two of them kissed. Levi slightly held onto Ace’s hips. And for that moment, it quite felt like the only thing that existed was each other. And it felt like the earth had stopped spinning all together.

Eventually, the two of them separated.

“Nice.” Whit commented. “Now, wear these rings as a reminder of the vows you have taken.” Whit reached over and took the rings from Nico, who had been taking care of the rings. “Yada yada yada, congratulations!” He exclaimed as he put the matching rings on their fingers.

The sun had just barely risen up into the sky. A fresh spring breeze blew past as the two smiled at one another.

A/N - Random fun fact but I set the date of their wedding to February First cuz that was the day the first EP of the Prologue dropped.
