    seriously  ??    leo  must  have  given  his  lil’  protege    (  that’s  how  donnie  has  labelled  randy  ever  since  he  showed  up  with  his  brother   )    some  pointers  because  he  was  saying  all  the    right    things  that  might  get  the  technician’s  undivided  attention.    “    the  smartest  guy  you  know,   huh  ?    ”    thankfully,    it  doesn’t  take  long  before  donnie   finishes  his  initial  welding  project  before  shutting  off  the  gas  to  his  torch  and  lifting  his  work  goggles  over  his  head.    

   “    alright.    i’m  listening,    tall  child.    you  have  exactly    one    minute  to  ask  me  your  thing  …    ”    the  soft-shelled  turtle  begins,    steepling  his  fingers.

          TALL  CHILD    ?    boy  he  really  hopes  that’s  not  gonna  be  a  regular  thing ,  otherwise ,  there  will  in  fact  be  an  issue.    “    it’s  randy  actually ,  or  randall.  preferably  RANDY.  my  friends  call  me  cunningham    !    ”    correction: friend.    “    so  any  of  those  work.    ”

          he  just  wasted  almost  a  quarter  of  the  minute  correcting  the  SMART  ONE  on  what  his  name  was.  he  shakes  his  head ,  putting  his  mind  back  on  track.    “    right  okay ,  so  let’s  say ,  HYPOTHETICALLY  speaking ,  that  i  have  this  little  ball  of  evil  mystic  power  that  can  possess  anyone  who  holds  it ;  would  you  maybe ,  again  HYPOTHETICALLY  speaking ,  have  a  device  that  could  contain  it    ?    did  i  mention  this  was  all  HYPOTHETICAL    ?    ”

          “    don’t  worry ,  the  doctor  said  my  bleeding  was  all  internal ;  that’s  where  my  blood’s  SUPPOSED  to  be    !    ”

    “  heyyyy  there  lil’  niño !  ”    with  warmth  laced  in  his  tone,    the  red-eared  slider  announces  himself  as  to  not  surprise  the  other  with  his  rather  fleet-footed  and    silent    arrival.    ‘  leonardo,    never    sneak  up  on  a  ninja ! ’    he  remembers  splintz’  teaching  him,    and  he  still  has  the  bruise  to  prove  it.

    “  you  know  what  they  say,    first  rules  of  ninja-ness  is  to  master  the  art  of  the    watch.  ”    he  explains  before  revealing  two  slices  of  new-york  styled  pizza  on  cardboard  in  each  hand,    “  but  somehow  pizza  makes  it  a  lil’  easier.  ”

    and  just  like  that,   leonardo  quickly  passes  the  other  his  second  slice.

          he’s  in  his  own  little  world ,  staring  off  at  city  lights ,  almost  MESMERIZED  by  the  scenery.  it  isn’t  until  the  familiar  voice  brings  him  back ,  turning  his  head  to  the  other ,  a  smile  forming  behind  his  mask. 

          “    yo   !    ”    voice  is  cheerful.  personally ,  he’d  been  looking  forward  to  this  all  day.  sure  it  was  just  being  on  look  out ,  but  it  was  better  than  his  aunt’s  talking  about  his  future  and  whatnot.  plus  it  was  with  LEO   !    out  of  everyone ,  he  enjoyed  his  company  the  most. 

          "    oh  nice   !    thanks  man    !    ”    he  takes  his  slice  from  leo ,  lifting  his  mask  just  above  his  nose  and  taking  a  bite.    “    i  actually  didn’t  eat  anything  before  coming  tonight  so  this  works  out  great.    ”     he’s  talking  with  his  mouth  full ,  a  terrible  habit  he  should  really  learn  to  break.
