thank you guys for joining me on my 4 year journey. 

i’ve deleted my two unfinished series because i know it’s unlikely i’ll ever get to them. i wish i could have given you the endings you deserved. i’ve also deleted some older fics that i feel don’t represent my writing anymore. i was going to deactivate but i know that there are people who still read, enjoy, and share my work. thank you to the followers who came back for me, who discovered me for the first time, and the friends that have supported me. i wish i could write for you all forever and forever because all ur words have meant so much to me and sometimes i still read through the nice things everyone says to me when i’m feeling sad. but i feel myself moving on, and know that it would unfair to give you writings that are anything less than 100% of my effort. 

thank you for helping me learn to love myself!!!!!

warnings: yoongi starts off as a musician on youtube but it’s not really highlighted for most of the story, kim seokjin is a Hot Music Executive who’ll take good care of his favorite boy, jungkook gets promoted from a cameraman to a bodyguard and i love to see it <3, nayeon + hoseok cameo as radio show hosts BECAUSE THIS STORY HAS SO MANY CHARACTERS I’M SORRY, IU shows up as a ~superstar~ because i love her so much, it’s a slow burn fic what can i say, mutual pining, actually an idiots to lovers plot tbh ????,  recreational alcohol consumption, POV switches occasionally but i try to make it as obvious as possible as to what is going on, mentions of insecurity, there’s angst BUT IT’S A HAPPY ENDING !!!

a/n: big big thank you to @gukyi​ for being my fic consultant for this story! she encouraged me and believed in this story more than I ever could (and contributed like 50% of the foundation that made this fic into what it is), and also reminded me that yes this is a fic so no it doesn’t require one hundred percent accuracy to the music industry despite every discord message i sent her falling somewhere along the lines of “how realistic is this scenario…” she was a very big support for this fic, and this story wouldn’t have existed without her!!

345k+ new cases of covid today in india!! in a single day!! twitter and instagram are our healthcare system rn!! we're short on icu beds, oxygen cylinders, covid vaccines and drugs!! we have no slots in incremation grounds to respectfully do the last rites needed for our dead!! patients are dying outside hospitals because there are!! no!! beds!! patients are dying inside ambulances!! and the states that are claiming to have enough resources rn are on their way to have a shortage of the same!! healthcare workers are being stretched thin!! we're all facing an acute mental health crisis rn!! meanwhile our central govt is doing too little too late!! after spending months doing election rallies and giving a green light to religious festivals (with hundreds of thousands of attendees) up until last week, they've finally decided to wake up and start paying attention to the covid crisis and it!! is!! not!! enough!!

So, India is dying.

Look, I know a good number of you are from the US and things aren't amazing there either, but my country is literally on the brink of collapse. So I'd love it if we could talk about that for a minute.

A second COVID wave has taken out the healthcare system. There are no more hospital beds. There's an oxygen shortage. There's a critical vaccine shortage. The Central Government has thrown its hands up and is passing the baton to the State Governments to do what they can.

There are over 16 million covid cases. A record 330,000 new cases reported yesterday - comparable to the US at its peak. 187,000 dead as of today.

There is no plan.

Mass cremations are taking place. The cremation grounds are running day and night and they are short on wood. People are watching their loved ones die while waiting for a hospital bed, and then they're unable to give them the proper burial rights.

Hospitals are overwhelmed. Patients are being confined, two to a bed. They're the lucky ones.

We are on the verge of people dying in the streets.

This is the second-most populous country in the world. The largest democracy. A country that encapsulates over 15,000 years of recorded human history and has endured everything from famine to invasion to colonisation.

We might be at the end. This might be the thing that does us in.

People are dying.

People are dying.

People are dying and there is no plan.

More good news? Variants are popping up. A double mutation strain has shown up. It is resistant to current vaccines. This will not go away. This is the devastation they warned of when the anti-maskers were out protesting the minor inconvenience of covering their face in public.

My country is on the verge of an emergency state. Our government has failed us. This is as dire a situation as it ever could be.

Look. I don't do much with my life. I write fics, some of you have read them and that's pretty much it. I spend my days with my head in the clouds because that's where I like to be.

But two days ago, my grandmother tested positive, had to be taken to hospital and the ambulance caught fire.

She barely made it to the urgent care she needs.

So, here I am, using whatever meager platform I have to cobble this request together. Because I have to do something.
