I think Satoiro is the first time I care about a contextual Precure romance. I think toei did it, I think they finally cracked the code.

I have a lot of thoughts about this new Wanpre episode but one of them is how much I adore Satoru and Mayu’s friendship. They’re so gentle with each other and kind. I can see real life friend dynamics when I look at them. Satoru is always kind to everyone but he always reassures Mayu (like in Episode 20 when she’s worried Iroha is mad at her) and while Mayu teases him about his crush on Iroha (tease isn’t the right word, prods maybe, I don’t know if there is an existing word that describes what she does. I call it ‘a girl who reads a lot of Shoujo and cares about her friends) she is genuinely very considerate and gives him a space to talk about it openly. And I think they’re so sweet.
