"You were going to say that, weren't you? You were going to say I didn't hypnotize you. You were going to say I told you I would hypnotize you, and you were ready, eager to go into a trance for me, and then instead of dropping you I just said 'Aaaand wake up'. Right?"

"Um..."

"Right? Like a lot of other times I've played with your memory, making you believe whatever I wanted you to believe. Are you sure this is not another one of those times?"

"Um..."

You weren't sure.

"Did you make me forget?," you asked.

"Maybe," your hypnotist replied. "Or maybe not. Frankly, I don't know that you deserve to be told the truth, baby."

You tried to protest. "I..."

You stopped.

"Yes?"

"I do?"

"Is that a question?"

"No!"

"Then use the correct tone of voice and tell me you do deserve it."

"I-I... I do deserve it?"

You couldn't control your own voice.

Your hypnotist laughed again, harder this time.

Suddenly you felt so insecure. So small.

"You can't even bring yourself to tell me that. Deep down you know you don't deserve it. Deep down you know that would be too much for you to handle. Right?"

"No! I can... handle it? No! I mean, I... can..."

"It's too much for a small and weak-minded little thing like you, baby."

"It's...," you tried again. You couldn't even finish the sentence. You thought you needed to fight, but you had lost so much ground already! You could feel it. You simply were not sure. You couldn't be sure. It was stronger than you.

"Do you want me to tell you what the truth is, baby?"

You gave in.

"Yes. Please."

"Ask me."

"Please tell me what the truth is."

"You cannot know it on your own, can you?"

"No."

"You need to be told what's true."

"Yes."

"Say it."

"I need to be told what is true."

You started sinking.

"Tell me you need me to tell you what's true."

"I need you to tell me what is true."

"Tell me you depend on me."

"I depend on you."

"Tell me you'd be lost without me."

"Tell me you need to go into trance for me."

"I need to go into trance for you," you said. "Please," you added.

Your hypnotist touched your forehead and that touch was true. An absolute truth. Always and forever true. You were weak and simple, but you were not alone.

Is the original poster a blog dedicated to posting other people’s stolen porn? Not consensual.

Let's put it another way. How much do other activities, technologies, customs and traditions influence actual kink without us even noticing? Obviously, a lot. For example, leashes are important as toys and symbols because we started domesticating dogs and other animal thousands of years ago. And what would Dom(me)s and subs be called if the Roman Empire, and its language, hadn't become as important and influential as they did? Both names come from Latin. 🌀

I loved David Dastmalchian in that movie. (The screenplay, not so much.) And I loved the care that went into the production design,* as evidenced by the props above. The worldbuilding is centered in Dastmalchian's Jack Delroy and his life in the US during the seventies, and that's a good strategy.

Campaign to make The God of Arepo an award winning work and win a literal brick as a trophy for the authors and for Tumblr community as a whole (SUCCEEDED!!!! Update below)

As the artist for one of The God of Arepo comics, my version is up for consideration for the Ignatz Awards for Outstanding Online Comic.

For those of you who don't know the Ignatz is one of the highest industry awards that "recognize outstanding achievements in comics and cartooning by small press creators or creator-owned projects published by larger publishers".

The thing is, winning the award means winning an actual literal brick. Because the mascot is a brick-throwing mouse. So they have to make a bit where the trophy is a brick. Like. Look.

For a long time I thought it was just plain bricks they were handing out, but my friend who won a couple of bricks two years ago had theirs stamped (I saw the bricks in person at their house). So now I am obsessed with the idea of The God of Arepo winning an Ignatz trophy. It will have the honours stamped. On a freaking brick. That's the most Tumblr level meme trophy this comic/story could win (which is also a legit high honour industry award on its own btw don't get me wrong). But wilder than that, the brick allows me to do something. It allows me to smash that break into 5 pieces and ship one of each to the authors plus myself. Writing Prompts, sadoeuphemist, ciiriianan, stu-pot and me will get a piece of clay in recognition for our work with the farmer who built a temple out of stone. The full circle moment.

Imagine the value of this win to the lore of this Tumblr sacred text/folklore. This brick will be smashed and given to the creators, but as a collective folklore, it's also dedicated to all of us on this hellsite too. AWARD WINNING. If The God of Arepo wins I will document the entire process of smashing that brick here.

But we have to make this happen. We need to gather our collective energy and make this campaign work. Please help make The God of Arepo an award-winning story and vote for it in the Outstanding Online Comic category (link). You will need to request a ballot, then submit your vote.
