The Crawford Family Album: Volume XXIII
Annabel really does get everywhere in my game - she has more friends and acquaintances than any Sim I've ever known! Today she came home from school with Madeleine.
Being an enthusiastic student of Sim culture, Green Bean is keen to pass on his knowledge of Twikkii local customs. Lydia is game to have a go...
..but Annabel is merely bemused.
These kids just love the snow!
A rare appearance in the wild of super-shy Francesca! She has zero Shy/Outgoing points, but it seems perhaps she's making a friend in Madeleine, who's completely at the other end of the spectrum (with 10 points). 😊
And then Madeleine suddenly sprouts into teenhood, with Snowbert presiding. (Another birthday that took me by surprise.)
~ Libra 3 / 10 / 6 / 9 / 9

~ Favourite Colour(s): Purple
~ Aspiration: Popularity / Pleasure
~ Turn-ons / -off: +Daydreamer / +Outgoing / -Alien (I guess it's the equivalent of a non-alien Sim being attracted to aliens?)
Now that both girls are teens, they're becoming even closer.
But they're also both careful not to leave out their kid brother Octavius.
Oh, and guess who just had to put in an appearance? In true Lydia style, Grim catches her in her undies.
There's still a chance though...
Nope, Lydia is resolutely staying put - she's not going to be hustled off the mortal coil like that!
And it looks like she's going to have the opportunity to greet another grandchild! Green Bean was previously of the opinion that their family was complete - but I wonder whether he might feel differently now?

📩 Simblr question of the day: You can answer one or both parts of this question!
1️⃣ Part one: If you make Story posts, what do you do for scenes? Do you build them yourself, do you download lots from the gallery or do you download them from someone online?
2️⃣ Part two: If you make Gameplay/Legacy posts, what do you do for a house? Do you build it yourself, download a home from the gallery or do you download them from someone online? Additionally, do you build onto that home or demolish it and rebuild the house when needed? (E.G When another child enters the picture or someone moves in)
❎ If you do none of those for either half, what do you do? Do you use someone else's save file? (WIndbrook by Folking, Willow Creek + Magnolia Promenade by Theneighborhoodsave, Silent Pines by Silentpinessave... etc)
( freely share this SQOTD around, anon or not, and use the hashtag " SQOTD " ~ 💛 )
Thanks for thinking of me, @melsie-sims!
I think my posts count as 'Gameplay', with maybe a bit of 'Story' thrown in?
My 'hood is pretty large, and I play each family in (not very strict) rotation, so I've needed a lot of housing for my Sims!
Some homes I've built myself from scratch: the Crawfords' beach house; Cassandra's Victorian semi; Marmaduke and Henrietta's townhouse; the retirement community; the Bennets' Victorian villa; Erasmus and Edward's, and Clara and Daniel's, compact residences; or the studio apartments for recent graduates).
I love building, but find it very time consuming, as I'm such a perfectionist and everything has to be just so! So, I'm always happy to find - preferably - CC-free/low-CC lots that fit my general aesthetic (compact, with a more European feel), which I can then customise as required.
Hence, I'm using quite a few residential lots that I've downloaded, many from my favourite builders @kayleigh-83 (Eleanor and Esther's chalet, apartments for new graduates), @deedee-sims (the family homes of the Eltons, Martins, Morlands, Wickhams and Willoughbys, Anna and Bennet's townhouse, Miles and Robert's bungalow, Jasper and Georgiana's house) and @honeywell-mts (most of the original family homes, including those of the Bertrams, Bingleys, Churchills, Darcys, Dashwoods, Knightleys, Smiths, Steeles, Tilneys and Wentworths).
I almost always make some modifications though, from simple switches of walls/floors/windows/doors/fences, right up to tweaking the footprint or completely revamping the internal floor plan, to better suit the family I have in mind.
I'd say the split is about 50/50, between residential lots I've built myself (I'm just not using many of these yet), and those I've downloaded and modified.
I don't use any money cheats, so if my Sims don't have the funds to decorate, furnish or expand, then the house stays as it is and they have to make do - hence my Sims' homes can look quite bare! As they go through life, and accumulate some savings, I start personalising their homes.
But, I try to avoid completely remodelling the structure of a house while Sims are living in it, as I like to have a 'clean' copy of every lot (stored in the catalog), so that I can easily replace them if they become glitched, without having to rebuild from scratch. More often, I will just move a family to a more suitable home, if their circumstances change.

The Crawford Family Album: Volume XXII
Today we're visiting what I think is probably my game's most popular family.
The Green kids are always happy to find new ways to have fun, and a snowy day provides plenty of opportunities.
Meanwhile, Green Bean is getting spruced up for dinner. There's a perfectly functional shower in the next room, Green Bean - and some privacy! 😯
It seems to have fallen to grandparents Henry and Lydia to introduce Octavius to the facts of life.
I suspect it comes as something of a relief when mum Frances gets home from work.
Octavius in particular Loves the Outdoors, and thinks nothing of frolicking in the snow in his undies. But I'm not sure this is such a good idea...
Hmm, definitely not! Snowbert doesn't know what all the fuss is about - it's perfect weather, as far as he's concerned.
That's better!
In the midst of all the winter fun, oldest child Estella bursts into teenhood. (Her birthday snuck up on me!)

Trying out her new Natural Cook trait, gaining some crucial life skills, and cooking her first grilled cheese! I'm not sure I like what it's doing to her neck though.
And not too old to still play with her little sister Madeleine. 💕

(That hair must be a family heirloom, but he's keeping it - at least for now.)
Frank's dominance of the Show Business world comes with some perks - which aren't popular with everyone in the family.
Oh!
Second son Oscar soon makes his appearance! With both his dad's brown eyes and blonde hair.
Mary - still lovely at 72.
And now with added teleportation ability! At least I think that's what's happening here - I looked away for one moment, and she vanished into a portal of light. Is it a witchy thing?
After-school playtime with Phineas and Annabel, who seem to go everywhere together.
Annabel in particular is everyone's friend.
Meanwhile, Gabriel is proving that he's a natural as a Freelancer - spending some time hanging out online...
...juggling in the kitchen...
...and when he can spare a moment, aging up his younger son.
Like his siblings, Oscar has inherited his dad's nose, but he also has his curls.
~ Cancer 7 / 8 / 9 / 9 / 3
~ Excitable / Charismatic
~ OTH: Tinkering
After his slip-up with Emily, Gabriel is also trying to smooth things over with his mother-in-law, and enthusing about her musical talent is certainly one way to mollify her. So far, his little secret has remained between themselves. Mary is old and wise enough to know that these things happen, and as long as he doesn't make a habit of it, she's prepared to forgive and forget - this time.
Given how active the older kids are, it's hard to contain them, even when there's thick snow on the ground.
It's time for a snowman-building spree! Aided by Rebecca.
Just when you've got rid of one, another appears! Go away, Creepy Nanny V2, no one wants you!
A much more welcome visitor - just stopped by to warm his flippers in front of the fire.

The Churchill Family Album: Volume XIV
Today we're with another family that we haven't seen in a while - the Churchills.
Frank is growing old gracefully, and he's still very much got it.
And the world of Show Business agrees! Even in his less-than glamorous underwear, he's still certified Icon material.
Son-in-law Gabriel also comes home with a (self-) promotion.
And a new admirer - in Emily Lee - whose attentions are unwelcome, at least at first...
...but Gabriel's scruples swiftly evaporate as the evening progresses!
Mary will not stand for her daughter being disrespected in this way!
This will show her - take that, you interloper!
Hmm, that new spell came in very handy - let's see what other gems this book contains, for next time...
On a more wholesome note, Janet is still full of beans...
...and little Marcus is toddling along well.
And just like his big sister, he adores his grandma.

The Bennet Family Album: Volume IX
Ah, they're such a tight-knit little family!
OK, well, it's not always entirely harmonious between the brothers.
Anyway, it's time to put any sibling rivalry aside, as it's Brandon's 13th birthday! That looks like some wish he's making.
Time to blow out the candles!

Although most of his extended family have gathered to celebrate his birthday with him, Brandon doesn't want little sister Elizabeth to feel left out, so he makes it a priority to give her some attention too. What a sweetie!
As soon as he gets a chance, he heads straight out to the garage to try out his birthday present. Maybe his brother Giles was right - perhaps piano isn't his instrument after all!
I hadn't realised what a high achiever he is all round - I think he has a bright future ahead of him!
(I also realised that he actually has Beth's eyes, not Bertram's, so he's 'grown out' of his glasses now - I have a rule that any child who shares the eye shape of a parent that wears glasses, will also wear glasses themselves.)
Elizabeth's birthday shortly after is a much quieter affair.

The Bennet Family Album: Volume VIII
We're dropping in today on a family we haven't seen in a while - the Bennets.
We're welcomed by very toothy toddler, Elizabeth.
It's potty time...
bathtime...
and playtime for Elizabeth.
And then rather public woohoo-on-the-sofa time for Bertram and Beth, making the most of their time at home together.
Thankfully, they're all done and dusted before the boys get home from school, bringing their friends Phineas and Annabel with them…
...who stay for tea. Annabel is already issuing invitations for her next birthday party, where she's planning to have all her family present, as well as her many friends.
Midge is having much less success socially.
Ouch! Although it's more hurt pride than anything. Grace the Stroppy Stray is a real terror though!

The Wickham Family Album: Volume XX
Although Augustus isn't a natural, there's something about music that really speaks to him. (He only has 4 Serious/Playful points, but I haven't been able to prise him away from the keyboard since it first arrived in the house, and now he's obsessed with his MP3 player.)
Picking on his siblings is entirely innate, however. Isn't this getting old yet, Augustus?
Aww, leave Rebecca alone, she's just a kid!
Laura is the only one who seems to escape his bullying.
Later that day, someone has a date with Grim. And while Catherine and Anthony are oblivious (robots are far more interesting than skeletal apparitions), the salient point that George has challenged Death - and won - seems to have escaped Simon and Kitty.
Take that, Mr Reaper, George is going nowhere! He still has plenty of pleasure-seeking left in him.
The very next day, Kitty is not so fortunate, and it's time to say goodbye. Her grandsons are obviously very upset - she has stood in for their mother since they tragically lost her as babies.
Bizarrely, Catherine decides that this is the perfect moment to propose to Simon.
Really, Catherine, he's literally just lost his mum! Could your timing have been any less appropriate?
To make matters worse, George demonstrates even less respect for his dead wife's memory! That very evening, he invites over his long-term mistress, Marla.
Fond as they are of their granddad, this is too much for the kids. Except Augustus, who's much more interested in bashing out those tunes on the keyboard.
It seems a bit of family snowman building is in order, to take their minds off recent developments!

After sharing an impromptu first kiss with Brittany, Augustus thinks that a proper first date should be his next move.
It's off to Rollerama in Sanditon for them both! Ugh, although this isn't a great start to the date.
Thankfully, she seems to like his humour better than his conversation.
It's a quiet day at the roller-rink, with just a select clientele.
After a bit of flirting...
...it's time for some refreshment. Augustus was thinking of just a coffee, but Brittany seems to have worked up quite an appetite already!
The waiter's clumsiness...
...fortunately doesn't spoil the mood.
I think he's got himself a girlfriend.
In the end, it's a first date to remember - commemorated with some photobooth shots.
As Brittany heads home to catch up on some homework before school tomorrow, we're treated to a display of skating prowess by Max Flexor - although Augustus doesn't seem to have mastered it himself.
Back at home, it's actually Rebecca's big day.
And because - being the youngest - she often seems to be a bit of an afterthought, let's give her her own screenshot, rather than having to share with big sister Laura. I think she's looking quite a lot like her dad.

Reblog if you are a simblr of either the Sims 2 or the Sims 3 (or both).
I wanna support more simblr accounts despite have being retired from Sims role playing myself, especially since they're overshadowed by the Sims 4 nowadays. I have nothing against those who enjoy the Sims 4, but as a long time simmer I still wish to support other fellow simmers who are active in the same simblr as the one I grew up with. 🫶🏻
And yes, you're free to reblog this even if you're retired but still love the Sims!

I don't think Augustus answers anyone's idea of a nice guy.
Even so, Townie Brittany Parker likes him enough to share a first kiss with him.
And a rather public make-out session in the living room.
Anthony's pal Phineas is not convinced about Brie's newly-discovered musical talents.
But how could anyone resist that face?!
Rebecca on the other hand, has discovered the joy of kittens.
And is much better at walking than using the potty.
Laura has found a playmate in half-brother Anthony.
And surprisingly, she even gets along OK with arch-meanie Augustus. Although I'm not sure about their topic of conversation - don't give him ideas, Laura!

The Bingley Family Album: Volume XXIV
Lillian is settling into her new home, and thinks it's rather touching that Charles still has on the kitchen wall the drawings that his sons did when they were small. And his late wife's culinary award.
She's also keen to establish a good relationship with her new nieces, since they're now going to be such a big part of each others' lives.
Emma is making new friends at high school, including Ivy Copur - and agreeing with her that their classmate Augustus is a bit of a *bleep*.
Charles is enjoying having Nathan and Lillian around. But why do Sims always choose the most awkward places to throw a ball?
And for Grim's appearance! Goodbye Charles, you were a friend to many, a loyal brother, a beloved father, an attentive uncle and the most selfless and nurturing grandfather ever - and you weren't even a Family Sim!
While the rest of the family mourn in an inconvenient corner of the garden, Charles's sister Caroline is busy swooning over Simon, who came home from work with Nathan.
The demise of Charles also overshadows Georgia's birthday, which just happens to coincide. With everything going on, she still remembers to congratulate her big sister on being top of the class already at her new school, and on course to get a scholarship for uni. What a Kind and thoughtful girl!

The sisters are now left in the care of their uncle and aunt, although of course they're becoming more independent by the day. And they've both recently won a place at the prestigious Lady Catherine's School, thanks to their glowing academic records.
Once Lillian has seen them off on the school bus, she always takes a morning swim.
She has the house to herself during the day, and plenty of time to consider whether she wants to find a job, or maybe have children of her own?

Charles has been a widower for many years, and has remained faithful to his late wife Jane's memory all that time, but he decides that perhaps he's ready now to embrace the dating scene once again. So, he calls up his old friend Michelle...
It transpires that she's always had feelings for him, and one thing leads to another!
There might still be life left in the old dog, but Charles knows that he won't be around forever, and it's time to secure the future of his young charges Emma and Georgia.
With Charles's youngest son Nathan and his fiancée Lillian about to embark on their life together, it only makes sense for them to move into the rambling family home, and to take on guardianship of the girls, should the worst happen.
And so, on a fine early-autumn day, a truly beautiful wedding for the young couple is hosted in the garden.
It was a really lovely occasion - one of my favourite in-game weddings!
Emma's Nurturing instinct extends to her young cousin Annabel, who can't wait to grow up too!
And of course, given the fine weather, it eventually turns into a pool party. (I didn't like the original location of the pool and gazebo, so everything got shifted around!)
As it's a special occasion, the girls get to stay up late - to finish off the wedding cake - but it's back to school for them both soon!

The great summer of fun is continuing at the Bingleys'.
Georgia is having a whale of a time, taking part in a water balloon fight with her uncles Benjamin, Daniel and Nathan, and of course grandpa Charles - all of the grown-ups behaving like big kids!

Well, I guess it's the perfect outfit for dealing with a flood in the bathroom.
Being a Knowledge Sim, she's really keen to start attending high school after the summer holidays.
With Emma being old enough now to take responsibility at home for her younger sister, it's time to check up on the family business, which has been sadly neglected in the years since Samuel's untimely death.
On his own, Charles is finding it all a bit overwhelming!
It's quite a relief when a friendly face turns up, in the shape of oldest son Benjamin.
Although he does have a bizarrely-dressed stalker in tow. (Chandler Platz has had the most massive crush on Benjamin forever, and pines for him at every opportunity! They did have a brief fling in the distant past, but obviously it went nowhere.)
Back at home, Emma's Nurturing side is definitely coming to the fore, as she determines to be there for Georgia in any way that she can. She knows that she can't replace their mum, but she hopes that she can offer some compensation at least.

I think it's best if she keeps out of Augustus's way, as he's still as much of a bully as ever!
He also doesn't fancy the Townie he brought home from school, and has no qualms about telling her so.
Ivy seems somewhat hurt by his critique of her appeal, and I don't blame her! Personally, I think she's quite cute.
Catherine meanwhile is rather frustrated by the slow progress being made by her daughter at potty training.
She's doing her best!
With that ordeal over, it's lunchtime...

There are big changes happening over at the Wickham parental home too.
For a start, it's oldest boy Augustus's 13th birthday - although he's looking rather apprehensive about it.
There - now that wasn't so bad, was it? He becomes the first teen of my third generation. Dad Simon is looking mighty proud.

The family has also grown by four overnight, with Simon's girlfriend Catherine and their two young daughters - and cat - all moving in.
Augustus gets acquainted with his baby half-sister, Rebecca: "you're not so bad, are you, squirt?"
And granddad George loves having more little ones around to spoil.
Although Laura is currently having more fun with the cat bowl than his stories.
Thanks to Augustus, Brie discovers that she has a burgeoning musical talent.
And she makes her own contribution to the household, with surprise kitten, Ricotta!
She's inherited her mother's virtuosity.
And mum is immensely proud of the prodigy she has produced.
The feline members of the family are of course popular with everyone. And they coordinate so well with the neutral tones of the décor.
But there's still very little brotherly love between Augustus and Anthony.
Although Mr Popularity Anthony is making yet another friend, in Carol. So I suspect the problem is with Augustus, and not him...
