alpha mactavish who, after months of demanding that omega riley get on suppressants, finds himself irate. he’s frustrated with everything. where he’s normally patient and firm, he snaps and barks orders at everyone.

riley noticing, tries to tease his captain for it. he can’t deny the opportunity to get under the alpha’s skin.

doesn’t expect the consequences of his actions.

what he doesn’t know is that soap has gone two rut cycles without a partner, because he’s too caught up on the pretty little omega back at base who smells like heaven and sin at the same time. mactavish can’t sleep without stripping himself hard and gripping a knot so viable to the thought of riley squirming on it.

mactavish absolutely snaps when riley tells him to calm the fuck down, ends up dragging riley to his office with sounding footsteps despite the omega’s plea that it was just a joke.

soap scruffing riley by the nape and bending him over his desk, tells him he needs to start /listening/. riley’s scent turns sickly sweet, his legs shifting when soap realizes what the smell is.

it takes him just moments to act on it, pulling the omega’s pants down and bullying himself deep enough to make simon shriek against his hand over his mouth. harsh thrusts and rough gritted words against the omega’s mating gland, telling him how pretty he is, how he’s been so obsessed, how he knew as soon as he smelled simon that they were mates. after all, it’s riley’s fault. he’s been doing it on purpose, getting under the alpha’s skin and disrupting his usual poise. it’s his fault that it takes 3 knots for soap to realize he’s gone into the feral, animalistic nature of a pseudo-rut.

riley’s tight little body going into heat in response is something soap takes credit for. watching him squirm and milk himself on the alpha’s knot until his limbs can’t hold his own body up. until he’s a gasping mess of slick and drool.

it’s riley that ends up begging the alpha to bite him, soap was too far gone in his head to even deny that he wanted it. of course he did, he’s been so smitten on riley since he first smelled him.

riley’s body tenses one last time as it contracts around soap’s knot, his teeth buried deep in the soft flesh of simon’s nape as he feels the last waves of his rut leave him.

he comes to with wet kisses along simon’s shoulder, pawing up the man’s side as he thinks about how the fuck he’s going to explain to price how he just fucked their lieutenant

johnny has always been able to read simon like the back of his hand. even without simon voicing it, johnny knows what he thinks and feels, sometimes before he even realizes.

so when a new bird catches simon’s eye, of course he decides to play wingman. simon’s too awkward and intimidating for his own good. it’d be a recipe for disaster, having him woo you all on his own.

that’s where johnny comes in, all charm and wit, gently guiding you in the direction of simon through shared conversation while simon stands beside him.

it works, surprisingly. you fall for it so easily. shy and sweet around simon, full of glowing light to brighten up the shadows that swirled around his aura, shooing them away.

johnny proves to be a great wingman when eventually over a period of time of him consistently worming into chats with you, spouting praises about his lovely best friend simon, you finally become simon’s girlfriend.

it’s a shame that in the process, johnny fell for you, too.

good thing simon doesn’t mind sharing with johnny.

that’s until simon starts to actually observe you. how you tidy up after yourself, how you buy the boys the odd ‘saw-this-and-thought-of-you’ gift when buying groceries. it makes the harshness of simon mellow whenever you unintentionally ground him. he loves johnny, with all his heart, but johnny’s unpredictable nature and his loudness is all too much for such a weary soul sometimes.

you prune a floral arrangement you had bought, humming quietly as you pluck delicate thorns from slender stems. a wince escapes your lips as you accidentally snag your thumb on a particularly persistent thorn, and simon looks up from his newspaper with a concerned, yet stoney, look. “you alright?” his voice rumbles from across the room where he was sat, glancing up at you in the kitchenette. “yeah..” you mumble, still trying to tend to the arrangement despite trickles of blood that trail down your wrist with each gentle administration of attention given to the flowers.

cute, simon thinks to himself. the corners of his lips twitch as he makes his way over to the kitchenette, not even needing to stretch to grab the first aid kit from the top of the fridge. “c’mere.” he fusses, thick mancunian accent soothing your soul as his fingers begin to tend to the cut. his touch is calloused yet tender, sincere and gentle. and when your softening eyes glance up at simon, only to catch him staring back down at you with an affectionate expression, it makes him realise that perhaps johnny’s proposition of opening the relationship up isn’t an inherently bad idea.
