When the war hit, my family and I lost everything. Our home, which held all our precious memories, was destroyed. My father’s business, my school, and our entire neighborhood were reduced to rubble. We’ve been forced to move from one temporary shelter to another, with no stability. So far, we’ve been displaced eight times, always searching for safety, but never finding it.

Every day is a struggle. We stand in long lines for basic necessities—water, food, and whatever little aid we can get. The search for a clean bathroom is a daily challenge. I have to walk for miles to the sea just to take a shower in its salty water, which is the only option available to us.

The situation we are facing is beyond words. Our lives are filled with pain and uncertainty. But even in this darkness, I’m reaching out with hope. My family was stable, we lived in peace, and now all we know is the sounds of explosions and the smell of corpses in the streets. We are escaping death every moment. We struggle to get food and drink, as the video showed in a previous post. Video link:

My eldest son Zain's first year at school was a joy for his school, friends and teachers. His life was like the life of any child who dreams of everything beautiful.

My second son, Yahya, was in his first year of kindergarten,and he would wake up early, happy to go to his friends and play.

Or do they now wake up to the sounds of planes and explosions and feel ashamed when they stand in line to get food or water? A terrible difference between our lives in the past and the present. A year between our stable life and the life of war, no education, no games, no life, no security, and no source of income. How long, world, where is humanity, where are the rights of my children? I’m Hanan Alanqar, a divorced woman from the war-torn Gaza. I’m living with my brother, Jihad, who battles multiple chronic illnesses, along with his wife, Ola, and their ten-year-old son, Yousef. It’s my heartfelt commitment to care for Jihad, especially as he navigates these health challenges without much support. Together, we’re finding strength in each other amidst our struggles.

Jihad is a brave man facing unimaginable challenges at just 42 years old. He lives with multiple chronic illnesses, including High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, and Celiac Disease. Due to health complications, he has lost his eyesight, his kidneys have failed, requiring him to undergo dialysis three times a week, and due to osteoporosis, his legs were broken which left him unable to move.

Sadly, the war has only deepened our suffering. Our house was destroyed, forcing us to seek refuge in Southern Gaza. We now live in a tent, struggling to find stability and safety. Being the most vulnerable member of our family, Jihad's health has worsened under these inhumane conditions, as he needs special treatment and nutrition which are not available.

Without a source of income, Jihad can neither afford the costs of transportation for essential dialysis treatments nor provide for his family's basic needs. Hence, he relies on the generosity of compassionate people to help provide for his family.

Jihad urgently needs to travel abroad for critical medical treatment and to ensure the safety and survival of his family. Every moment that passes deepens his suffering and heightens the risks faced by his family. Unfortunately, due to ongoing war and border closure, people are forced to pay exorbitant fees to escape Gaza, with costs reaching as high as $10,000 per person.
