What do you think Tim meant that he has been lying to himself for a long time?
In my opinion, I think Tim feels that he was lying to himself about being a decent person all this time.
He tried to believe he was deserving of happiness and being with someone like Lucy, but now that all of this is coming to light, he can't "pretend" anymore. He probably feels like he misrepresented himself to Lucy, in a way, and deceived her. Almost like he tricked her into falling in love with someone he isn't and needs to set her free.
The part that makes my chest hurt is that Lucy's always known who Tim is, flaws and all. There was no trickery. She saw him right from the beginning.
Those are my (very sad) thoughts, at least! 馃槶

Monday, coffee has not been enough.
Trying to figure out how to keep things on track as my new manager seems intent on screwing with my well laid plans for the year and the team. Why am I so sensitive today? Feels like everyone is snapping at me, and buddy, I'm just trying my hardest to get to the end of the day and a good snuggle with my dog.
