thought of doing some intros for the components of the fragmentation AUs but the baseline ones are pretty close to their canon description so im shifting gears to the sg one
introducing the SG Aerialbots of the Fragmentation AU! this SG runs on 'pretty much opposite of baseline' and thinking about some of them make me snicker just by how weird they are.
sg silverbolt: treacherous for funsies. sabotages and even attempted to kill the other combiners in the base just because he finds it fun and likes the challenge. tried shooting defensor once and got locked in a jar for weeks. dunno if he has reached starscream level of comically absurd treachery, but he's at the very least getting there. pretty much lives in the brig/prison of the base because he is that big of a nuisance.
sg skydive: the only reason he would ever pick up a book is to throw it at someone. has no patience to try to plan out his actions and usually brute forces his way through every problem and battle even when it results in a lot of mechs getting hurt. unironically thinks that his usual tactics are pretty good even when it usually doesn't work. everyone else sees him as an idiot. he has no self awareness.
sg air raid: a coward that needs to be dragged to duty due to his strong fear of death. fights only because he is told to and is extremely stressed the whole time. when not on duty he hides inside his room, and considering how he was maimed or got caught in the crossfire of several fights within the base, his fear is not exactly unfounded.
sg slingshot: somewhat of a suck up people(?) pleaser, but considering the characters that are the sg autobots, he's doing so out of a strong sense of self preservation and ensuring that he himself is at least useful enough to not be scrapped given how unhinged some of his compatriots are. tries to convince his brothers to not do stupid things that might get them punished. has not succeeded once.
sg fireflight: a normal guy. so normal that he's just boring. treats the war with the same energy as the average person on a nine to five retail shift. has not reached baseline dead end's level of nihilistic apathy but generally does not care much about the war or anything happening around him. he's just going through the motions of your average war crimes.

Ohh, I saw your shattered glass Autobot combiners, but what about the Shattered Glass Decepticon combiners?
(The Constructicons canonically all being healers and medics in SG warms my heart and thinking of Devs holding some of that is !!!)
Holy primus it's @wwheeljack the fic author that introduced me to combiners and kickstarted my stunticon obsession-
Anyways, SG Fragmentation AU's decepticon combiners pre-fragmentation :D a lovely trio. they might not be as fierce as warriors in this universe but they more than make up for it with their other traits
SG Devastator: is still the oldest modern combiner, reforged from a crew of Decepticon medics who sacrificed their lives in a difficult battle. despite his name, devs was never quite one for destruction. while not incapable of combat, devastator much prefers fixing things up, whether they are buildings or other mechs. patient and steadfast, he is both an expert in construction and medicine. he very much considers himself the older brother to the other two combiners and checks up on them frequently, considering the fact that he's pretty much the only one can do that on a regular basis. compared to his more aloof baseline self he really cares about those two, to the point where he misses his own assignments in order to fix them up, and brings them along to help with some projects from time to time. however, his concern for others often leaves him distracted and vulnerable to attacks, usually resulting in quite a number of injuries that he needs help fixing.
SG Menasor: still created from earth vehicles, but is proud of his close association with the planet and is not afraid to admit it. really enjoys human culture and just being around others in general, with a special love for listening to the radio. quite the excitable, easygoing and extroverted mech, but has nerves of steel in an emergency situation. enjoys being on the road in decombined form and driving around earth, but is aware of his strength and the danger he poses to humans and their vehicles should he be reckless, so menas is quite aware of traffic laws in different places so he doesn't hurt humans. unfortunately, this level of cautiousness sometimes extends into the battlefield, where he would hold back his strength and speed by instinct, which often puts him on the defensive in a fight, especially against more aggressive opponents. he can hold his own, but his reluctance to unleash his full strength made him a target of mockery of the autobots and even irritates some decepticons, but he doesn't really care about what others think.
bonus fact: his level of cautiousness and unwillingness to crash into others got passed onto motormaster after fragmentation. just like Tinted Lenses sg motors not wanting to crash into others is an idea that got into my head one day and refused to leave.
SG Bruticus: the youngest of the trio (so far, again i may be bringing new teams to the AU) and very much looks up to the other two, which makes devastator and menasor quite protective of him. is really good at assessing a situation quickly and improvising on the go, and is surprisingly adept at managing logistics. is humble almost to the point of self deprecation, as bruticus feels like he can always do better and has lots to learn from others. socially awkward and speaks a lot less in public, often staying silent and clinging to either devs or menas, but is more comfortable with chatting with his brothers when it's just them in their own combiner base. not good at very complicated schemes and prefers more straightforward plans and actions. is also a very bad liar and easily folds under scrutiny, very vulnerable to pressure and taunts, often ends with bruticus distracted by the insults and requiring others, usually the other two, to assist him. is very self conscious about this fact and is trying to overcome this weakness.
hope i did these fellers justice :D ALSO GO READ THE FRACTURE SERIES IT IS AMAZINGLY WRITTEN AND WILL MAKE YOU ADORE THE STUNT LADS!

[tinted lenses au lore bites]
Project Arsenal, a secret project by the Senate to train and recruit Cybertronians with special talents or of special interest, and carry out experiments to create super soldiers and war machines to aid in the Senate’s control of the planet and plans for expansions.
The subjects of the project were kept in a secret compound up until a breakout that resulted in the subjects’ escape. Some subjects were later discovered to have joined the revolutionary factions against the senate in the third Cybertronian Civil War.
I’m still working on the exact list of characters involved in this project but there may be familiar faces :)

95% of the time I am a firm believer of ‘the combined form of the combiners have their own consciousness and personalities and combining is letting the combination take the wheel’ and 5% of the time I’m like ‘wouldn’t it be funny if after combining all the components only have control of their specific part of the combined form and it essentially becomes a multiplayer octodad playthrough in which moving normally is a big challenge in itself’

The one canon piece of information about SG Dead End is that he organizes singalongs and I will use that nugget of information until the day I stop thinking about SG

[TF SG: Tinted Lenses AU] A Dark Night, and the Following Day
SG Stunticon fluff before they get put through the wringer in the AU's main plot :) because I have a stunticon fixation and an sg fixation simultaneously and tbh there's not a lot of SG content on them so I'm making my own
this is the first complete/not cryptic lore drabble I'm writing from this AU (and from my account) :D also just in case the title isn't clear, this is an SG universe, so some character details will vary from baseline depictions. if y'all are interested in learning more about these boys or this au in general just drop an ask :D I am very happy to talk about it :D
----
Despite his grim name, Dead End takes pride in being an optimist. In spite of the many trials and tribulations he endured prior to being rescued by the Ascenticons, he does his best to not let those haunting memories consume him.
Everyone is destined to die, so he might as well do something meaningful and contribute to this world as much as he can before facing his inevitable demise, which is better than staying overwhelmed by misery and waiting to become food for rust. These days, that meant becoming acquainted with the other mechs at base. The medics said that it would be a while before he's in proper physical condition to fight, but he's very willing to get to know his comrades in the meantime.
However, there are moments when he can't muster that energy. Such as right now.
Dead End felt fine in the morning, but after refueling at noon, he started to feel unusually tired and numb. He couldn't get a word in during his daily perusal of the archives, playing his usual music didn't make him feel anything, and neither did his usual habit of writing poems yielded any results. He didn't have the energy to talk to anyone else and his brothers were out on a mission.
So he just sat on the couch and zoned out for the remainder of the day, staring at the wall's direction but at nothing in particular. To the point that he didn't notice when the door opened and someone else walked in and sat down next to him.
"Ender?"
The deep timbre and heavy pedesteps quickly gave away who came in.
"Motors?"
Using more strength than he expected, Dead End turned his head to meet a pair of concerned golden optics.
"You alright, 'End?"
"I..." Dead End sighed. "Feel like slag."
Profanity is usually beneath him, but at the moment he just doesn't have enough energy to care.
His brother's optic ridges furrowed anxiously. "Do you want to talk about it?"
Dead End wasn't sure what the 'it' was referring to, but he was too tired to ask for clarification and frankly too tired to talk too much. "No. Just... stay with me for a while, please."
This isn't the first time something like this has happened.
And as usual, his big brother said nothing, and wrapped an arm around his noticeably smaller frame. Dead End curled up on the couch and leaned against his brother's chassis, the gentle purring of the truck's engine and the warmth of his field soothing him into recharge.
He vaguely heard more pedesteps and felt a surge of warmth as he drifted into a comforting oblivion.
...
Dead End woke up feeling much better and felt someone leaning on his shoulder. He shifted a bit in his position, which prompted a response from the mech who was leaning on him.
" 'End?"
"Oh, good morning Drag Strip. Sorry, did I wake you up?"
"Nothing, I... I was already awake anyways, just didn't want to disturb you since you didn't look good last night." Drag Strip replied quietly, his frame still covered in dents and scratches from the night before. Dead End had a sliver of doubt that Drag Strip was really awake and not saying so just so that Dead End can feel less guilty. But since the former racer has always tried to avoid upsetting others, and pressing the issue further probably wouldn't achieve anything, Dead End decided to leave it at that.
Much more energized, he sat up straight and surveyed the rest of their room. Wildrider was resting soundly on the other end of the couch. And... Breakdown was sprawled out on the floor, presumably falling off the couch while recharging.
Whether he somehow didn't wake up from the fall or chose not to get back on the couch, it does lighten his mood. He couldn't resist letting out a chuckle which escalated into louder laughter. Eager to share this 'new discovery', Dead End reached over and nudged Wildrider awake.
"What?"
Dead End said nothing and just pointed at the figure on the floor, prompting a snort from Drag Strip and barely restrained laughter from Wildrider, keeping it as quiet as they can, as if not to wake Breakdown so they can enjoy this sight a little longer.
They were interrupted by the door sliding open and the familiar heavy steps approaching.
"Good morning brother."
"Hey Motors."
"Risen and shining, big guy!"
The usually stone-faced sniper smiled a little, which is a sign that he is in a good mood.
"Yesterday was tough, so I thought y'all would like to sleep in for a bit. Went down to the canteen to get this morning's fuel- uh, Breaks?" Puzzled, he put the tray of energon cubes on the table, then bent down and gently shook Breakdown awake.
"Hey mech... HOLY PRIMUS WHEN DID I FALL OFF THE COUCH?" Embarrassed, Breakdown scrambled to stand back up before settling on the couch next to Wildrider.
Another wave of amused laughter washed over the room, Breakdown himself included.
With that little interlude out of the way, Motormaster turned his attention to the previously despondent mech. "You feeling better, Enders?"
Dead End smiled and nodded. "Much better. Thank you."
With his brother's slight smile widening just a bit more, he received a few pats on the back in response as Motormaster resumed his usual seat in the middle of the couch.
The topic switched to a dramatic retelling of last night's battle, which devolved into the usual routine of everyone convincing Drag Strip to take a compliment - for reasons Dead End has yet to understand, the former racer has always been reluctant to accept praises, even when his quick thinking this time saved a good number of their allies' lives.
"It's- it's nothing really." Drag Strip averted his gaze and chose to fix his gaze on his cup of energon. For reasons Dead End has yet to discover, the former racer was never good at receiving praises.
"Okay stop." Breakdown cut the stammering racecar off and pointed at the shy mech. "You have done nothing but self deprecate since I've met you."
"You have done nothing but self deprecate since you've got here! Take it from a professional, you've got some good moves. If you want, I can teach you some more tricks. Might come handy in recon missions." Wildrider added with a reassuring smile.
"I..." Flustered and nervous, Drag Strip's plating noticeably tensed.
"Alright, alright, he got your point." Motormaster raised a hand to signify that this line of discussion is reaching its end, then gently patted Drag Strip on the helm. "But they are right, you deserve to have a little more faith in yourself."
"... Thanks."
A brief awkward silence soon followed.
"Alright, enough rambling. Cheers!" Breaking the silence, Wildrider grabbed his cup of energon and raised his arm. "To last night's success!"
"Cheers to surviving another day!" Dead End added enthusiastically and raised his own cup in response as the others joined in.
The dull clanking of the cups were as pleasant to the audio receptors as his old music collection.
Although it will be a long time before peace graces Cybertron once more, small moments of joy like these, though fleeting, bring immeasurable comfort.
And for now, that is enough.

im bored and had a pretty bad week so here's some lore on sg fragmentation au! introducing the horrible sg bot combiner trio! all of them are terrible as people(?) but insist on being the sane one!
sg superion: a bundle of barely repressed rage, superion is only viewed by the autobots as a weapon of mass destruction and a means to win the war, and he himself is very aware of this fact. superion has no love for the autobots and constantly thinks of leaving the faction. he's also very aware that the autobots are the bad guys. that being said, he is by no means a good mech himself or willing to join the decepticons, and frankly is somewhat frightened by the potential consequences should he fail to escape. feeling trapped, he reluctantly resigns to his fate and takes all of his frustrations in life out during battle, just so everyone can feel the same misery he does. in other words he basically uses battles as opportunities for his destructive tantrums. also constantly talks shit about his colleagues. an asshole with some degree of self awareness, but an asshole nonetheless. very much a 'i feel like shit so i will make it everyone else's problem' guy.
sg defensor: a soft-spoken sadist who occasionally bursts into fits of unhinged laughter, defensor enjoys pretending to rescue both humans and cybertronians amidst battles between the autobots and decepticons, and 1. just. stand there and do nothing while people cry for help. 2. make the situation worse (like adding gasoline to fires) or 3. kidnap them and use them as hostages. seeing helpless ones hopefully seek rescue only to be abandoned to a worse fate gives him the kicks. to keep up the disguise, neither defensor himself nor his components wear faction badges. does not particularly care about the factional conflicts, but is aware that the autobots are more willing to tolerate his cruelty than the decepticons and thus tries to remain in the bots' good graces. he enjoys collecting hostages and locking them up for observation or medical testing to satisfy his curiosity. however, defensor's true fascination is looking into the physiology and psychology of combiners, which increased tenfold since learning about the existence of fragmentation. very much looks forward to the day he can capture a decepticon combiner, though he would resolve to 'taking care' of one of the other two pn his side when push comes to shove.
sg computron: one of the most unhinged mechs among the autobot science division, and considering the characters we have there, that's not an easy feat to accomplish. immoral and hellbent on pushing out as many battle plans and machine blueprints as possible regardless of quality, computron started experimenting on himself in order to slow down and even reverse fragmentation, which unfortunately resulted in part of his internal engines and circuits actually becoming damaged. part of his logic circuits are genuinely fried. most of the things and plans computron make don't work properly or even make sense most of the time, but despite his inefficiency and incompetence, computron has a huge ego. considers himself above pretty much every scientist who ever existed, and even the notorious autobot scientists don't want to touch him with a ten foot pole, as any potential collaboration would be a nightmare. he's really only kept around due to his instability making him an unpredictable foe in battle, otherwise he would have been scrapped a long time ago.

Dumbass au time
What if when Professor Sumdac found Megs head and when said head powers back on he can’t remember anything and is like “oh! My purpose is to assist the human and his little human!”
And then when he gets a body he devotes his time to aiding and protecting the sumdac family and every bot and con is lost and confused because Megatron is uncharacteristically sweet, gentle and soft spoken

In response to Bruticus’ incessant bullying Menasor has resorted to calling him a multitude of nicknames, mostly 'Bruce' and any variation of it.
Bruticus hates it and tries to complain to Devastator. Devs does not give a shit he's busy.

[tinted lenses au lore bites]
The Ascenticon Association of Scholars and Artists, a group of scholars and creatives creating and preserving work that has been banned by the Imperium, or otherwise go against the 'the spirit of the Imperium'. The group consists of advanced scholars and hobbyists across a variety of fields such as languages, arts and philosophy. Members of the association mainly maintain the Ascenticon Archives and preserve as much of Cybertron's culture and history as they can, and semi-regular meetings are held to share works and exchange ideas.
A good number of the Association's members are former Autobots who defected from the Imperium following the regime's shift to using more brutal and violent methods to eliminate dissenters and obtain territory, as well as increased censorship and historical revisionism. Many of them were put in prison for speaking out, and those who are lucky were rescued by the Ascenticons during a series of prison break-ins. The Imperium deems them as treacherous lunatics who seek to corrupt the public into bringing back the old corrupt world.

if I had a nickel every time I made the Combaticons really old compared to a good chunk of the cast in my AUs, I'd have two nickels.
it's not much but it's weird that it happened twice.
