Ukyo 💛🕊️
I love, love, love this little archer boy! His character design is giving cherub, he’s golden boy, he’s sweet honey nectar, he’s sunshine on a windy day.
It sucks because I feel like after watching the anime, which supposedly incorporates side characters more, I still don’t think he got enough time. Not enough to fully evaluate who he is. But from what I do know: Ukyo’s baby! Sly little fox, he’s a sheep wearing a wolf’s hide, a little angel who has unrealistic expectations for how reviving humanity will play out–no deaths, really? Do you have any idea how mission impossible that sounds? Ukyo’s ultrasonic sensitive hearing matches his heart’s sensitivity. He’s very cancer moon coded in my opinion. Or virgo moon, minus the judgemental stereotype. The type to feel all sorts of emotions and have it under control. But if someone asked him if he were okay, he wouldn’t hesitate to fluently express how he’s feeling. God I’m a sucker for these kinds of characters. The ones who represent a beacon of hope but exist quietly behind closed curtains. His presence is so loud, like, as an audience member, I love when yellow feathered darling comes on screen. Mwah! He’s so cute!
I heart mischievous, innocuous, heartwarming, comforting, serious, reliable characters so very much. Ukyo has youthful, mothering mixed with golden retriever energy. If I had to guess, he would be a very nurturing person to have in your life. Ugh! 10/10 adorable, 10/10 would yearn after if he were real, 7/10 fit. I need to write a list of imagines for all my favs. I need to, I need to, I need to, I need to.

Tsukasa
I appreciate the way Dr. Stone writes its characters. The stubborn, determined, relentless personalities add tension to the episodes. These characteristics also stay consistent throughout the plot, making it feel more realistic. While there are “rigid” characters, or in literary terms, “static characters,” the writing does a phenomenal job at masking this. Or they have just enough fluidity in their personalities to not be marked off as some stagnant concrete–they’re interesting.
For instance, with the introduction of Tsukasa being some overpowered high schooler who’s able to tackle down lions like he’s taking lunch money, first off, it’s almost contradictory that he isn’t instantly trying to kill Senku off. Upon first impressions, rumors make it seem like he’s a brute who’ll one million percent bully little Science Boy into being his slave. Wrong! He has a heart! Compassion off the charts. That is, until he starts killing off the statues, leaving crumbled remnants of what was once a person. So that means this guy is bad news. He desires an ideal world where adults, people who have failed him personally, are extinguished.
Also side note, it makes sense that he struggles with authority figures. His parents, a kid’s first introduction to an established power dynamic and line of trust between adults and themselves, were negligent and unreliable. He had to essentially raise himself and try to provide for his comatosed sister. Then there’s Seashell Man who callously beat up a kid collecting seashells (Tsukasa). Then the guy pimping him out for fights so he could make money. Basically, the environment Tsukasa was raised in and grew up in left very little room for adults to redeem themselves. So it’s like, even though outsiders may think this fella's insane for trying to kill off all the grown ups, from his perspective it makes sense. He stuck with this mindset for the longest. Like, for forever.
Then the show’s like, oh, you thought Tsukasa was going to be the Big Bad Man forever? No! Because Senku sees right through him. Poor lil guy’s weak spot is his little sister. So just bring her back to life and he’ll turn sides right? Also no! Not until Hyoga betrays him and both Tsukasa and Senku need to work together to take down hottie Hyoga.
I think Tsukasa, deep down inside still feels that resentment towards the group of people he’s attributed his pain and suffering to. But after Senku’s selflessness and humanitarianism, he feels a sense of obligation or loyalty to Senku dearest and is just suppressing his hatred. Or, he’s trying to work through it. He gives off the impression that he’s detached and doesn’t care about anyone but if anything, it seems like a defense mechanism. He cherishes children and has shown empathy and consideration to all walks of life. The only thing is that he doesn’t mind murdering so long as it fuels his goals. But remember, he doesn’t know much outside of solving his issues with pure strength, dominance and violence.
I give him 10/10 hotness (beautiful long hair + long eyelashes, beautiful (feminine and masculine) and is a kind character at the core). 3/10 world domination because his execution was poor. 7/10 relatability. And all I’m gonna say is, he’d be very easy to write Wattpad fanfic about. Not that I’m going to. But phew! Tragic backstory, strong as freak, looks like a woman (androgynous), and kind? Lol!

the shoujo anime rly got our perceptions of romance warped, probably. also you were probably a wattpad fan fiction lover girl. and even though you know whoever you end up with should be pining over you as hard as these male characters were down bad for the female protags, you also know that's for sure not happening in real life. to be loved like a female protagonist in a shoujo anime is the dream tbh :(

law of ueki
this community is rly, rly, rly niche bc the anime's not all that popular but i gotta put out my love for this show <3
Tumblr media
🌱 the show's artstyle is very nostalgic and is reminiscent of old anime, the character's movements are fluid and not lazily animated like newer stuff 🌱 each character has their tropes ofc but everyone's design is unique, even the ones for the disposable villains, everyone feels different to look at & the main cast is NOT a bunch of copy and paste personalities, the thought that went into everyone's design is UGH
🌱 actual training arc/character development for the main cast
🌱 ima be real the villains are hot in my opinion, even if one of them is named robert of all things (he's the hottest one, also, he's insane)
🌱 the opening for the show is unskippable bc it's GLORIOUS to listen to, like, it's on my daily rotation because it sounds badass
🌱 51 episodes seems like a lot but it's so worth it if you have the time. you'll grow your heart massively with this show, like it'll increase your EQ i swear... you get to feel the fighting scenes & the friendships that form and it's like ugh!
🌱 idek what to say bc it's been a while since i've seen it but i've rewatched it at least thrice sooo
🌱 mc has green hair and is all about sustainability
🌱 the law of ueki isn't afraid to embrace darker themes
🌱 if you like fairy tail, one piece, hunter x hunter, you'll enjoy law of ueki
IT'S JUST SUCH A GOOD SHOW! & i'm raving about it because it was one of my first introductions to anime, like, my heart's heavy for it. if you ever have the time & want to find another anime to fall in love with, this one is it. underrated as hell.
the very badass opening:

crona
this wimpy little baby is my favorite soul eater character 😭😭
Tumblr media
the androgyny, the bright pink hair in contrast to their gloom and doom vibe, the pathetic weakling personality... they are so me and i am so them. love love love how evil and crazy they are until omg! friendship.
tbh, all crona ever wanted was for someone to understand them & this is so relatable :(
they're so cute and awkward in social situations. and so crybaby and whiny at the slightest things because they wear their heart on their sleeves. i adore them ugh

mifune
can we talk about how much of a hottie this guy is? loves kids, badass sword fighter, has mid-length hair and a heart of gold. something about characters whose actions are typically interpreted as antagonistic (defending arachnophobia, working for like, a mob boss) but their values tend to contradict their field of work—it's attractive as hell...
Tumblr media
that serious gaze, the undying loyalty he has to angela, everything! he's so strong, silent type. so precise and calculating. so so awooga
i'd be so scared of him irl but god hes spouse material (yes)
istg my next post about him is gonna be a list of imagines or smth
