HOLMWOOD TOWERS PAPRIKA HENDL RECIPE (Slow cooker version)

(Serves 5-6)

INGREDIENTS:

3-5 Sprays of olive oil (or whatever cooking oil you have)

2 onions, thinly sliced

4 garlic cloves, crushed (of four tsp of jarred garlic)

4 tsp paprika, to taste

2 x 400g tins chopped tomatoes

3 tbsp tomato purée

50ml/2fl oz chicken stock, made with 1 chicken stock cube and boiling water.

1 tsp dried mixed herbs (or Italian herb seasoning)

1kg/2lb 4oz chicken thigh fillets, boneless and skin removed

1 each large red, yellow and green pepper, seeds removed and cut into regular strips.

salt and pepper, to taste

Sour Cream

METHOD:

Place the chicken thighs in the slow cooker, so they evenly fill out the bottom of the pot.

Put the rest of the ingredients (apart from the soured cream) inside along with the thighs.

Cook on high for 4-5 hours (our usual method) or low for 7-8 hours (we managed to burn the last one) Stirring every hour or so, if able.

When ready to serve (or after reheating later), add a dollop of sour cream on top of each dish, or mix it into the mixture.

Excellent for meal prep and freezing. We serve it with rice. Also good with pasta, potatoes, bread, or by itself.

and it is similarly bizarre to try and separate trans men's experiences into a trans part and a man part. That's not how people experience the world. There's not a trans part that gets sexually assaulted and a man part that gets refused an abortion, there's one undivided person experiencing both. To ask trans men to defer to some baseline trans-exclusionary concept of manhood in interpreting their experience as trans men is just cruel. They should get to speak as full people.

A couple weeks ago I was practicing my owl calls on a night hike and I successfully called in a barred owl. My owl call is pretty good, but I've never called an owl to me from afar because I rarely do night hikes and so I don't get much chance to. I had expected to be really excited about this, especially since two of my coworkers are really skilled at owl calls and they don't usually get a response, much less a full conversation, but instead I felt so guilty. I eventually had to start ignoring this poor deceived owl that was following my call through the park. I felt like I catfished him.
