I dont know how other systems work, but thats about the same as what happened with our OG host, it took a while to figure out but eventually we just summed it up that he and Harry had merged. It's confusing to try and figure out so I dont know how to help but, yeah! It's probably just a "fusion" or "merge" or whatever you wanna call it, pfft /gen

Yeah I think that’s what we’re thinking on cause this was around before all of us were here so we don’t remember much but it’s what it feels like? Idk how to go into detail about it but I’m glad to know someone has a similar experience thank you!

Anyway if any other systems could help that would rock cause recently we’ve been talking about whether or not our og “host” went dormant or me and him fused? Merged? Idk the term.

I have memories of what he went through but then I have some of my own so I’m not sure what happened. But I know for a fact I’m myself AND also if something like this does happen is everyone fully aware of it or does it just….happen? I’m really curious and I’m nervous to reach out to any other systems..our memory sucks so idek if I do remember it happening I guess

I know you’ve done a father figure one but maybe like a part two to that? Or one where the reader has memory loss issues? (Platonic if you choose either one)

The narrator sighs quietly. It’s an uncomfortably familiar situation. He wants to be clear, he is not uncomfortable with you. He never would be. That being said, he used to have memory problems as well. Resets had a tendency to make him forget. Sometimes this was for the best, and sometimes it wasn’t. 

He metaphorically rolls up his sleeves, and gets to work on being the best possible father figure he can be.

He’s never upset if you forget something. “Reader, these gaps aren’t your fault. Sometimes our brain works the way we want it to, and sometimes it doesn’t. You are not a burden for not having perfect recall. I’ll tell you as many times as you need.” 

Maybe you’re the type to forget where your stuff is. The narrator, when not manifesting physically, can find objects for you quickly.

“I can’t find the keys I was just looking for.”

“Hold on.” The narrator pops out of the physical plane and looks at the entire house from above. “You left them on top of the microwave.”

Maybe one day you forget something important, an anniversary of some kind or a friend’s birthday. You’re so frustrated with yourself because you know you’re meant to be better than this. You’re yanking your hair and crying, and so utterly upset. The narrator steps in.

“Reader, oh, reader…” He says, gently taking you into his arms. “It’s alright. These things happen sometimes. Please don’t be cruel to yourself, you honestly don’t deserve it. Let’s see what we can do to fix the problem, but in the meantime, I won’t stand idly by while you treat yourself poorly. There now, let it out. I’m here for you.”

As time goes by, he changes the way he speaks a little. Nothing an outsider might notice, but he chooses kinder ways of phrasing things. When he speaks of the past, he refrains from asking, “Do you remember when…” and instead focuses on his memories, like saying, “You know, I recall when…”

Instead of “Remember to do…” he replaces it with, “I’ll remind you to…” which puts the emphasis on him instead of you. You appreciate it.

If you struggle more with short term memory, the narrator is patient when repeating instructions. He knows you aren’t doing it on purpose, which makes all the difference.

If you struggle with long term memory, he gently pulls you back from the edge of dissociation so you don’t get too lost in your own head.     

He’s very kind, always. He considers you to be his kid, after all.
