Shout out to mentally ill people who dropped out of school

- shout out to the kids who were “so bright” and ‘heading somewhere” and had to drop out because school was too much to handle along with mental illness

- shout out to the kids who struggled to get where they got before they dropped out

- shout out to the kids who tried and tried and tried and still couldn’t finish

you aren’t unintelligent because you dropped out of school, you aren’t a delinquent or a bad person because you dropped out of school, just because you did what you had to doesn’t make you a bad person

one day it just clicks. you realize what’s important and what isn’t. you learn to care less about what people think of you and more about what you think of yourself. you realize how far you’ve come and you remember when you thought things were such a mess that you would never recover - and now you smile. you smile because you’re truly proud of yourself and the person you’ve fought to become.

happy pride month. when i was in elementary school i was in orchestra and had to practice the viola every night but i never remembered to. had an anxiety disorder so it felt like it was genuinely the end of the world everytime i came into class without practicing the viola. huge point of contention in my house. one night i was sobbing about it like full on meltdown about this viola and my mom came into my room super worried. she said “i wont leave until you tell me what’s wrong” and i knew she would be livid if i told her i hadn’t practiced so instead i said “im gay”.
