Vegetable Crisis Happening in Cebu

While community pantries are projected, farmers from Mantalongon,Dalaguete,Cebu are troubled of the unsold number of cabbages they harvested.

One of the most crucial and basic need of an individual is food. This pandemic has brought workers particularly to farmers into a high intensity level of struggle in vegetable crisis. Low salary, unsold crops and provision for their families are part of it. Yet, it never hinders a farmer to stop working. Ironically, we people tend to need them as part of the society. People will never see the hardwork of the farmers until they realize how essential farmers are when time of famine comes. They can be labeled as the simplest but the most essential workers.

However, this crisis has taken action of the Cebuanos whose objective is to offer their time willingly to help.

Every crisis has its own solution. They never bought the cabbages for their own food but instead, they bought it for the purpose of donating it to the community pantries.

Truly unity and love has been developed in the hearts of the Cebuanos and sooner or later, the next generation will adapt it with equal treatment.

My Insight of the Emerging Community Pantry (Inspired by: Ate Reshnee Tabanag)

This pandemic has caused a lot of negative events around the world. One of these is leading to scarcity and poverty which unlock people's aggressiveness to attain and supply their needs especially for their family. In contrary, their aggressiveness has brought them into unity. The people never really care of the government's jurisdiction towards them since donation for helping is neither a crime nor a violence. 

There are a lot of issues that I encountered in social media but one that I'm curious of is the emerging of community pantry. Conducting community pantries seems to eradicate the lacking of food for it implies the saying "Kumuha base sa pangangailangan, magbigay base sa kakayahan".

This activity serves as an awakening tool for the people to get rid of discriminating low-class people to upper-class people. What I mean in this part is that it's not what economic group you are in, its about maintaining equilibrium in our society and community. The community pantry activity is such a spirit-lifter for everyone since its purpose is to supply foods for those who are in need. It's good to know that this kind of action is spreading not only in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao but also outside in the Philippines little by little. What they sow is what also they will reap especially to the individual who came up with this good and beneficial activity. One thing that is being executed in this act is the common characteristic of the Filipino called the "Bayanihan" wherein Filipinos are able to help and lift each other up. Community pantry gives a great help not only in the field where people can sustain their needs, but also in the field where people can be disciplined to practice unity without superiority and governance. 

We, as a current citizen of the Philippines, famously known for having the absence of good governance country, must put in mind to need not the sugar-coated words spoken by nominated people during elections. We must take actions as an ordinary people as Fernando (2021) uttered,"Tanging tayong mga ordinaryong Pilipino talaga ang magtutulungan".

Respect People’s Privacy

According to Confucius, “Do not do to others what you do not want them to do to you”.

 One that is very rampant now in the field of media is respecting privacy rights.

 Every online citizen has their own rights to put restrictions of some of their information into publicity. Sometimes, individuals may post pictures and videos for the purpose of pleasure and enjoyment without permission and can be labeled also as mocking. 

We, as a former citizens in the social media world, must integrate this netiquette and must be responsible enough in respecting others’ privacy. Like Confucius’ quotation that we should never do to others what we don’t want others do upon us. There are many netiquette that you need to know and surely will make you a better online citizen.

SAYAW NG PAG-ASA

Kinuha ko itong litrato na ito sa tabing-dagat malapit sa amin at pagpunta ko doon, maroong mga batang naglalaro at masayang masaya sila. Humingi sila na pagkukunan ko sila ng litrato at kinunan ko naman. Isa ito sa mga litrato na nakuha ko at sa aking nakita ay agad kong nahinuha na isa pala ito sa mga representasyon ng pagbangon natin sa kabila ng mga pagsubok kaya naisip ko na pangalanan itong “Sayaw ng Pag-asa”.

Marami sa atin ang nalulungkot at nababagabag sa sitwasyon natin ngayon sa virus o mas kilala sa pangalang Covid-19. Marami rin ang nagsisisi at nagtatanong kung bakit ito nangyayari marahil ay ito ang nakakasira sa trabaho, negosyo, at edukasyon ng mga tao. Sa kabila ng lahat ng ito, nagpapasalamat pa rin tayo na may nauuwian tayong pamilya at sila’ y nagmamahal sa atin.

Naniniwala ako na pagsubok lang ang ating nararanasan ngayon at malalagpasan rin natin ang lahat ng ito. Babangon tayo at manatiling malakas sa mga susunod pa na mga pagsubok na ating madadaanan. Ang “Sayaw ng Pag-asa” ay nangangahulugang kahit sa anumang sitwasyon ay magagawa pa rin nating maging masaya at maligaya dahil alam natin na sa kabila ng mga pagsubok na ito ay may pag-asa. Ika nga ng iba na hindi ibibigay ng Panginoon ang mga problema na hindi natin makaya at Siya lamang ang makakapagbibigay ng lakas sa atin araw-araw kaya magpapasalamat tayo sa kanya. Walang imposible sa taong inilagay ang kanyang pananampalataya sa Panginoon at magagawa niya ang lahat ng nararapat at tama. Gaya ng sa likod ng makapal na ulap, may nakatagong liwanag at sikat ng araw ay naniniwala rin tayo na sa bawat pagsubok ay may nakatagong pag-asa. Para sa akin, imposible na malalampasan mo ang bawat problema kung wala namang solusyon. Napapansin ko rin na tayong mga Pilipino, kahit sa kabila ng bagyo at pagyanig ang nadadaanan ay naggawa pa rin nating ngumiti. ‘Yan ang mga Pilipino!

Ngayon, hinihikayat ko ang bawat isa na hindi dapat mangamba at malungkot sa sitwasyon ng ating bansa ngayon. Matatapos rin ito lahat at mapapasayaw ka nalang sa ligaya dulot ng pag-asa. Salamat at magandang araw sa inyo.
